Chapter 56: Fractured Reflections

Lyra's POV

The ancient mirror looms before us, its tarnished surface rippling like liquid mercury. Runes etched along its frame pulse with an eerie blue light, responding to the magic thrumming through my veins.

"Are you sure about this?" Xander's voice is tight with concern. His hand hovers near the small of my back, not quite touching but close enough that I can feel the heat radiating from his skin.

I swallow hard, steeling my nerves. "We need answers," I say, my voice steadier than I feel. "If this artifact can show us possible futures, maybe we can figure out Elara's endgame."

Before I can second-guess myself, I press my palm against the cool surface of the mirror. Xander's hand covers mine, his fingers intertwining with my own. The world around us blurs and shifts, reality fracturing like a kaleidoscope.

Suddenly, we're no longer in the dusty vault of the pack house. Instead, we find ourselves in a sun-dappled clearing. I gasp as I take in the scene before us.
