Such a Bad Decision

Moreau didn't want to believe it, but she found no hint of a lie revealed there. Her stepfather continued to tell the truth, and didn't even seem to care if Moreau found herself doubting it. There seemed to be no intention of adding anything other than asking questions.

"What were you doing at the nightclub?"

Moreau had already guessed. However, she had yet to find an appropriate expression, other than actually wanting to vent something that had become a weight on her shoulders.

"Just going to have fun. Why?" She asked back. As usual to test Abihirt's patience.

"You went alone?"

Moreau's eyebrows raised almost faintly. The pure instinct in her seemed to understand where Abihirt's curiosity was headed. She hoped the man did not meet Juan, if and when... indeed, Abihirt brought her home.

"Who I go with is none of your business, Abi."

Instead of answering, Moreau tried to mask reality. It would be too bad if she involved Juan after receiving no news at all. It was her fault
