I woke up to find that Lily was gone. The pillow in her place not providing the same sense of calm that having her body next to mine does. When I wake up, my lungs are still burning, but the scent of apple pie and the feeling of my mate wrapped around me in my hospital bed soothes the ache in my lungs. While I understood that he just wanted to take her somewhere private and mark and mate her, he was recovering from wolfsbane, and she was needed to provide medical attention as people woke.
