We went from one store to the other, picking out different outfits and accessories. It was during a stop at a jewelry store that I spotted a particular piece of jewelry that made my heart race with excitement and nervousness. I picked up the matching gold wristwatch first, glancing at the one on his wrist. It felt right, like a secret tie between them. It’s supposed to be a wristwatch for couples, but I feel we should have it, I want us to have it. It feels just right.

“This looks beautiful!” I told her, drawing her attention to the matching wristwatches. She looked at me, her eyes looking sad and uncertain. I knew it was boldly written at the top that it was for couples. That alone is enough reason for her to reject my offer for this expensive matching wristwatch.

“Raphael and I have the exact same thing at him. It would be so weird if I had two of the same brand of wristwatch, don’t you think?” she asked me smiling beautifully as she walked over to another brand on the
