Chapter 16 Someone Acts Faster

Jessica pursed her lips and looked away to avoid eye contact with Christian. "I'm not available."

Christian had just calmed down. Immediately, his gaze became sharp again.

His arms were wrapped around her. She explained sincerely, "It's true. The Smiths will come to my home to have dinner and discuss the wedding of Adam and me."

"What?"

"I'm not stupid. Bigamy is considered a crime."

Jessica smiled and was afraid that Christian would be angry. "Don't worry. I will deal with my past soon."

Only if she dealt with her past, she would belong to him completely.

Christian knew about that. He was born to be powerful. He was patient with his prey.

When she opened the door and was about to leave, her wrist was grasped by him.

"Don't you make up for me before leaving?"

Christian bent over to get close to her. She clenched her fists subconsciously and felt distracted. Before he kissed her, she leaned forward suddenly and kissed his cheek.

Before he reacted, she opened the door and got out of the car quickly.

She walked a few steps, turned around and saw Christian smiling mischievously at her in the car.

At the dining table, the Bushes and the Smiths were discussing the wedding when they had dinner. The atmosphere was thick with tension.

Cain hinted that he failed to be the president of Wasin Group because of Jessica.

Also, Cain said that Jessica and Adam had to get married as soon as possible. After they got married, the Smiths would try their best to support Jessica's elder brother, Jayden to grow his business abroad.

Cain suggested that Smith Group would make things difficult for Jayden's company if the wedding was off.

No one had an appetite. After the Smiths left, Adam would like to have a talk with Jessica, so he pulled her out. "Let's go home."

Jessica broke out of his hands. "No."

Adam was anxious and said impatiently, "No matter how angry you are or what else reason you have, don't go too far, Jess!"

Although Jessica shifted responsibility to Adela, Adam must be suspicious and would know the truth. Jessica was ready for that.

"Do you know why I'm angry or what else reason do I have?"

Adam tried his best to calm down. "Forget it. Let's go home. We will get married as soon as possible."

"No."

Adam frowned impatiently. "What do you want?"

Jessica had found an excuse and said in tears, "I feel you've changed... I don't want to marry you unwittingly."

Adam looked at her beautiful eyes and a trace of maliciousness flashed through his eyes. He didn't know who had lied to him between Adela and Jessica.

However, he was tired of the dispute between Adela and Jessica. "Go home in three days. Otherwise, I will take you home whatever it costs!"

After she sent him away, she arrived at the door and heard her brothers discussing about her marriage.

Jayden frowned and paced around. "The Smiths pressure Jessica to marry Adam. Even if I become bankrupt, I won't risk Jess's marriage!"

Jessica's second brother, Samuel was also outraged. "Recently, I have made a clean break with Smith Group secretly. No matter what decisions Jess has made, we will support her!"

Jessica smiled thankfully. Although she had tried her best to hide it from them, they still knew what she would do.

At night, Jessica hugged Madam Bush. "Mom, can you give me the dowry that you have prepared for me in advance?"

Madam Bush was curious. "Jess, what happened? Tell me, I will help you deal with it."

Jessica told Madam Bush the truth, "I would like to buy Cain's shares of Wasin Group. Cain lost the election and felt embarrassed, so he was reluctant to stay in Wasin Group. I have asked Jayden to buy Cain's shares secretly. As long as we give him enough money, he will be willing."

"What do you want?"

Madam Bush looked Jessica and felt that Jessica became sensible overnight.

Jessica smiled adorably, "Cain and Adam are ignoble. Smith Group will collapse soon."

Before bedtime, Jessica called Gail, "Gail, please take the plane to Germany tomorrow night. Adela has shifted and may stay with Adam. Pay attention to them."

"OK. Jess, don't worry. I have booked the most concealed seat in the first class cabin. I will take clear photos of Adam and Adela!"

The next day, before Jessica arrived at the TV station, Gail informed Jessica to enter through the back door.

"What happened?"

"Haven't you seen the news online?" Gail met Jessica and showed the news to Jessica.

Early in the morning, the photos of Jessica and Mask were posted online. Someone divulged that Jessica was the host of Mask's interview. It was a trending topic online.

Meanwhile, Jessica got doxxed. There were many scandals about her.

She was Adam's fiancée, but she hooked up with Mask. Many fans were heartbroken.

That was not the whole story. Someone even divulged that Jessica seduced Wade. Wade was many fans' dream lover in this summer!

Jessica was so shameless. How dare the TV station let her be the host? Did they have a death wish?

The reporters, Mask's fans and Wade's fans were waiting for Jessica outside. If Gail hadn't informed Jessica in advance, Jessica would have been sieged.

"Jessica, who ... did that?"

Gail was shocked. Someone acted faster than Jessica.
