CHAPTER 173

PRECIOUS

I immediately withdrew from Ruby and feigned to be angry at Duke when suddenly the door was pushed open and several men without shirts walked in.

Everyone suddenly became quiet as we stared at the men who barged into our home as though it belonged to them. They all looked like they couldn't wait to destroy us all and I shuddered as an uneasy feeling settled at the pit of my tummy.

No one said a word as we all sat as if in a trance before one of the men cocked their gun and began to shoot at the roof, leaving a hole in its wake.

A loud piercing scream erupted from my mouth as I watched with fearful eyes as another man pointed a gun at one of the maids.

I saw people getting up and I felt a hand grab my waist, dragging me towards his chest. My breathing became hitched as fear clutched my heart.

My legs suddenly became wobbly and I had the feeling that I was going to faint anytime soon.
