Chapter 110 - Subconscious

Rosaline’s heart went out to William when she saw him lying in the hospital bed - pale-faced, hooked with an IV line and wrapped with bandages.

She closed the door of the private ward, pulled the curtains, and made her way to him.

“Hey,” she slowly whispered.

William was frowning in his sleep.

She smoothed his furrowed brows and caressed his cheeks.

He seemed uncomfortable, so she took a wet towel and gently wiped him clean.

His face, neck, chest, and arms, without touching the bandaged part.

The nurses did not seem to have cleaned him up.

She did that the best she could without touching his wounds, disturbing or alarming him.

Given what he had been through before he lost consciousness, he probably did not want to be touched.

So, Rosaline wiped him without any skin-to-skin contact.

William, in his subconscious, felt something smooth and cool brush his face and smoothen the wrinkles on his forehead. It felt familiar and calming, so he did not want to disturb it.
