When everyone calmed down, we agreed to come up with a plan to capture Anthony Reynolds alive. We have too many high-ranking men who want to see him suffer as he dies slowly and painfully.

We also agreed to keep Lena guarded. She will not be left alone for even a minute. At night, she will have a warrior posted below her bedroom window. That warrior will not be allowed to move unless he has someone to take his place for a break.

We agreed that we would leave it up to her if she feels safe going to school until Anthony is put in our cells and/or dead. If she chooses to stay home, then she can either come to work with me and Wendy can work on her homework on my couch, or she can stay home with Wendy and four other warriors in and around the house. She can do her homework at home.

Isaac and I wanted to make sure she knows that she is not on lockdown. The warriors are not there as guards to keep her locked up. They are her bodyguards to keep her safe. If she wants to come to the pack house

I'm sorry about the short delay. I had another family emergency. I sure can't wait for things to calm down. I do hope you enjoyed this longer than usual chapter. I couldn't find a good stopping place sooner. Once again, I would love to read your comments.

I heard a man groan loudly and Wendy walked out of the closet, “The threat has been neutralized.” She placed her weapon on the dresser and walked back into the closet. When she emerged from the closet, she was dragging a screaming Anthony Reynolds, with a gunshot to his thigh, behind her and I heard a loud series of growls behind me.Apparently, I had been followed by Isaac and the rest of our guards. Isaac growled, “How did you find that door?” Anthony answered, “It’s not like it was very well concealed.” I walked to him and placed pressure onto his wound with my foot, “Who told you about that door?”Anthony growled in pain, “You fucking bitch!” I stomped hard on his leg, hearing bone break, “Tell the TRUTH!” He growled, “I knew your grandfather. He had me install the door before you came here from the hospital.” I shook my head, “It’s too bad that’s the last time you will remember it’s there.” I turned him to the warriors, “Take him to the cells.”I hurried to Lena and wrapped my arm

I woke the next morning to the sight of my mate’s nose gently rubbing against mine, “Good morning, my luna.” I chuckled, “Good morning, my alpha. What time is it?” He smiled, “It’s four a.m. Would you like to hit the gym for a while before our daughter wakes up?” I smiled, “I would love that.”I got out of bed, changed into a sports bra and leggings, then we walked hand-in-hand to our home gym. As we started our stretches, I asked, “So, what made you think of working out this morning?” He smiled, “I received a visit from the Goddess last night. She told me that you will be training Lena. I thought it would be a good idea for us to practice together and get back into our former routine.”I nodded, “I agree. I think that would be a really good idea.” He suggested, “Maybe we should think about going back to evening sparring practice too.” I consented, “I think Lena would love to practice sparring as a family. I would like to start our runs again, but I don’t want to risk Lena’s safety unt

Our daughter jumped in excitement and I asked, “Are you done eating breakfast?” She cringed, “Oops.” She sat down, “I can’t let this go to waste. It’s my favorite.” I smiled, “Plus, you will need the carbs and protein for your morning workout. We will practice sparring as a family in the evenings.”Lena smiled widely as she nodded, “That sounds like so much fun.” I added, “We’ll do strength and cardio training in the mornings. Okay?” She smiled, “I want to do that. I will never be weak again.” I smirked, “You tell them, sis!”After eating, Isaac went to the pack house to do some paperwork while I stayed to help Lena with her morning training. I spent time with her, coaching her on running, the weights, the dumbbells, the treadmill, the sit-up bench and the pull-up bar. By the time we were done, she was ready for a shower, but she looked more self-confident and happier.I asked, “What do think about this morning workout idea?” She fidgeted her feet, bouncing slightly, “It gives me more

Lena immediately looked at me with her eyes wide and her hand covering her mouth, “Sorry Gamma Alex!” Winnie and I looked at each other with amused expressions and started laughing wildly. I laughed, “Sweetie, that was awesome! Trust me, Alex can handle it.” I couldn’t stop laughing to save my life and neither could Queen Winnie.Alex approached us, “Well, is it safe to say you have found out what her current ability is?” We all started laughing all over again. I stopped, wiping a tear from my eyes, “Oh my Goddess. That was so funny. Yes. Her current ability is levitation.” Alex added, “And judging from what happened when I walked in, the objects she levitates have the potential to become projectiles.”We all started laughing and nodding. Alex just shook his head and grabbed a doughnut from the tray and went to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. I added, “I think we should take this somewhere else, but I don’t want her practicing where anyone can see her. I do not want the dark witches t

That evening, we were immediately tackled to the couch by our daughter, “Can we spar now? Please?” Isaac laughed, “That depends. What have you learned today?” She smiled proudly, stood up and raised her outstretched arms from her sides. Isaac and I immediately started floating into the air.I started chuckling while Isaac’s brows raised to his hairline, “Well, I would say you’ve come a long way today. We can definitely spar after we get changed.” She stepped back from us and squealed at an octave that had our wolves howling. Alex walked into the living room with his fingers in his ears, “Damn, where did that noise come from?”Lena cringed, “Sorry. I’m just excited to be able to spar tonight.” Alex laughed, “I’ll get dad over here. He can help us train.” I smiled, “That would be perfect.” I turned to Lena, “Alex’s dad was the one who trained all of us. He also trained me on techniques that the pack doesn’t know.” She gasped, “Do you think he’ll help me with that too?”Axel walked into t

It has been a rough week. Lena’s mother was buried the following day and Isaac and I spent the day with our daughter, expecting to comfort her. Instead, Lena decided to spend the day with us, celebrating her mother’s life by telling us stories of how funny her mother could be and how loving she was.Isaac and I were so happy to see how she chose not to mourn her mother’s death, but to celebrate her life in such a thoughtful way. It showed us that Lena was a lot like me. She was very mature for her age, just like I was. I just really hoped that didn’t mean she lost her childhood. The next day, we spoke with Winnie about the protection spells on Lena and her wolf. Winnie replied, “I was able to see her wolf when I met Lena. Her name is Opal. Opal was her mother’s wolf. Opal left her mother years ago because of Anthony, and that was what he wanted.“Opal knows what is to come and she said Selene gave her more abilities that she will need time to practice. Lena will shift for the first tim

Chapter 72The next day, Isaac and I went to the pack house early and let Lena sleep. We had been out late the night before and Lena was wired for sound with excitement when we got home. Wendy informed us that she didn’t go to sleep until four a.m. I laughed, “I did the same thing. The first shift and run in wolf form is a real adrenaline rush. She will probably sleep most of the day.”When I got to my office, Kyra knocked on the door and I invited her in. She stepped in and smiled, “I have a surprise for you.” I smiled, “I would love a surprise.” Kyra reached out her door and guided someone into my office. When Kyra stood aside, I gasped, “Elena! Oh. My. Goddess! You look beautiful!”Elena laughed as I suggested, “Please, have a seat on the couch. Would you like some coffee or tea?” Elena smiled, “I’ll take a coffee.” Kyra answered, “Same here.” I smiled, “Three coffees it is.” I filled three cups of coffee and put cream and sugar on the coffee table in front of the couch.I asked, “A

Six Months LaterI woke up that morning feeling like I had been hit by a truck. Lena’s fighting skills are on another level. She and I sparred last night because we weren’t sleepy. I have never come so close to having my ass handed to me. Only six months of training, and we are almost equal in fighting strength.I laid in bed and stretched, groaning as I felt every single sore muscle. I reached to the other side of the bed and found my mate was not there. I did, however, smell coffee. Like a lifesaving elixir, I was drawn to it. But, first, I needed a shower and to get dressed. After taking my shower, brushing my teeth and putting on a white tank top and light blue jeans. I put on my Nike trainers and went to the kitchen.I poured a cup of coffee for myself and went to the living room. I walked out the front door and sat on the porch swing, with my coffee in hand, lost in thought.Isaac stepped onto the porch and sat next to me. He put his arm over my shoulders and pulled me close, “Wh

After the initial crowd of people were let out of the gates, I turned to Isaac, “That’s not all of them. There is one face, in particular, that was not present.” My mate nodded, “I know. I have already sent warriors to get them.” I suddenly watched his eyes glaze over and I knew something was wrong. When his eyes cleared, he growled, “The warriors are having to forcefully bring her and her entire family here. They are refusing to leave.” I sighed, “I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this.” I mind linked Lena, “Hey sweetie, can we use your levitation skills for a bit? We have an argumentative family. They are giving our warriors a hard time about leaving.”She smiled, “Sure, mom. Can I use your computer to look at the cameras?” I smiled, “Please do.” It didn’t take long before the entire family floated to the gate. Isaac smirked, “I never even thought to use our daughter’s ability.” I shrugged, “That’s why you have me, love. We complement each other.”When the family was placed on the gro

After hearing all of them whine and cry on the way out of the pack house, Isaac and I went to the dining room to join our children. When we reached the dining hall, all three of them waved us over to our table. Isaac escorted me to the table and I asked, “Would you please get a glass of tea for me?”Isaac nodded and went to the beverage station to prepare our drinks and I turned to our children, “Blaine, you don’t have to worry about any of them hurting you again. They are being banished. Your dad and I just need to do the official banishment in about an hour.”Blaine asked, “Why in an hour?” I answered, “Because there are a couple of them that did things to you that were so awful that I want every trace of them gone. I want every single family member gone. You understand me, don’t you?” He nodded, “I understand. Thank you, mom.”Isaac sat my coffee in front of me and then took a seat next to Blaine, “We would do anything to keep all of our kids safe.” Blaine asked, “Wouldn’t you do an

Ten minutes later, we were all in Isaac’s office, waiting for the rest of the employees from the orphanage to arrive. I sat in my wheelchair next to Blaine while my girls sat on the couch on my other side. Isaac sat at his desk, smiling at all of us.I asked, “What has you so happy, love?” He smiled, “If you could see what I see, you would be happy too. Seeing my whole family together makes my heart happy.”Blaine furrowed his brow, “What do you mean?” I smiled, “Let me see.” I was able to easily access Isaac’s mind and look through his eyes. I smiled at the sight and turned to the kids, “I wish we could frame this memory and display it in the main foyer. It’s absolutely perfect.”I projected the photo onto the white wall and all of our kids gasped. Lena laughed, “Mom, you need to warn us before you do that. Blaine didn’t know you could do it.” I looked Blaine in the eyes, “Son, you are a special wolf in a family of special wolves. We are going to keep this a secret until you are older

Blaine looked at Isaac and me with determination, “I can tell you who the abusers are, Luna.” I moved my wheelchair close to his and asked, “Are you okay, sweetheart?” He nodded, “I will be okay. I always am.” I smiled, “I know you are. I want to know how you would feel about being able to call the alpha and I your mom and dad?”His eyes went wide as he asked, “Can I call Heather and Lena my sisters?” I laughed as Lena walked in, holding Heather’s hand, “You better, because we will be calling you our little brother.” Blaine smiled, “I would love that, Luna.” Isaac asked, “Do you know what that means, Blaine? Do you know what it means to be our only son?”Blaine shook his head as he furrowed his brows in confusion, “I don’t, Alpha.” Isaac knelt down to his level, “It means you will be my heir. You will be the next alpha of our pack. Would you like that?”Blaine’s eyes went wide again, “I would be happy just having you as my family.” I smiled, “Well, you will also have that for the rest

After he made some adjustments, I was happy that I finally had my new wheels. I started moving around the room and feeling like I was fidgeting in my seat.Nurse Aadi walked in with paperwork in her hand, “Luna, it’s time for discharge instructions.” I held out my hand and she approached me, “I’m very sorry for leaving you the way I did.” I chuckled, “It’s fine. I understand completely. This is an emotional time. I have something to ask you.”Aadi raised her brow, “Ask away.” I asked, “Would you be willing to be my personal assistant and nurse? I would make sure to allow you time to volunteer at the orphanage, if you want, and you would also be Blaine’s nurse, because we are adopting him as soon as we leave the hospital.”Aadi smiled, “I would love to accept the position. Four hours later, I was in my hospital room trying, and failing, to take a nap. I had too much on my mind and I would start sobbing at random times. I could not find peace within myself at all. I felt so guilty that we could not protect her the way she needed us to.I suddenly felt so heavy that I had no choice but to sleep. As soon as the darkness fell around me, I was immediately surrounded by the brightest light I had ever seen. It was red too. My first thought was, “Shit. I have pissed off the Goddess.” Then I heard her voice, “Yes, you have. Zariah, you know more than anyone that you cannot control the actions of other people.”I cheekily responded, “Well, actually, you did give me a certain ability.” The light got brighter, if that was even possible, “You cannot control what they do on their own. Do not patronize me right now. I’m not in the mood for games. Now. This is what you will do. You will stop feeling sorry for yourself. None of this is about you. It’s about your pack, yo

Aadi and I went to the room where Cheyenne was waiting to be taken for burial preparation. I was immediately struck by the amount of blood that was on the sheet covering her body. Apparently, Aadi was also stricken by the sight because she ran to Cheyenne’s body and collapsed onto it.I asked, “Exactly what was your relationship with Cheyenne, Aadi?” She answered, “Cheyenne was my late mate’s baby sister. She took shelter in this pack after running from a human testing facility. She destroyed the place on her way out of it.”I asked, “Did you know that Blaine is her biological son?” She nodded, “I did. Cheyenne swore me to secrecy. I was with her when she gave birth to him.” I asked, “Do you know who his father is?” She shook her head, “No. I don’t know exactly who he is. I know he was a rogue and a trafficker who had sold her to the lab. He took her virginity on the way to sell her. He’s an evil man. It’s a wonder that she was able to give birth to Blaine.”I cried, “So much for one s

She gasped, “But Luna, it’s almost time for your physical therapy.” I responded shortly, “They are bringing Cheyenne in and it’s not looking good. I need to be there. We can reschedule PT until later. It’s not like I’m getting out of here today.”The nurse helped me scoot into my wheelchair and we took off for the Emergency Department like a bat out of hell. When we got there, I found my mate and he was holding our sobbing daughters closely. Heather was the first to see me and she ran to me, “Momma! She’s gone.” I sobbed, “I’m so sorry, sweetheart.”While Heather climbed into my lap, Isaac approached, “She’s right. They couldn’t save her. Her heart had been still for too long.” I shook my head and started crying. The nurse beside me growled, “I need to see her.” I asked Isaac, “Do you think she and I could go see her?” He answered, “Yeah. I can get you both back there.”I asked, “Are you going

TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic abuse scene ahead (this chapter only)It had been two days since we initially spoke with Cheyenne about being my private nurse and assistant and we haven’t seen her since then. I was starting to get worried about her. I was still in the hospital because I had not completed my physical therapy requirements. My doctor wanted to be sure I could perform all activities of normal daily living safelyWhen the morning nurse came to take her morning vitals, I asked, “What happened to Cheyenne?” The nurse asked, “We are sending one of our coworkers to her place right now. She didn’t call in to let us know she won’t be in. That’s not like her at all.” I suggested, “Let me check on her before anyone goes in.”I watched as the nurse mind linked the coworker to hold off going to Cheyenne’s house, then I tried to get inside Cheyenne’s mind to see what she was seeing at that moment. It was harder than usual to do it, and then I saw nothing in her mind at all. That scared me b
