Chapter 6 - The Past

Indeed, at that time, it was one of the most memorable moments in Charlotte's life. In addition to creating moments of happy memories, it also changes her character into a woman who holds fast and is not easily oppressed by people, even though her status is a daughter of a noble family.

At that time, Charlotte really idolized a handsome prince, as well as being a friend in college. For your information, ordinary universities and universities for the royal family are very different. Ordinary universities are of course used for ordinary people whose facilities are not as luxurious as royal universities. On the other hand, the royal university is used for members of the royal family as well as royalty. So it's no wonder Charlotte and Prince Gabriel first met when they were in college.

Charlotte's character is known as a shy woman, even being the subject of gossip from her classmates, even though she is a fellow of noble blood. But thanks to the presence of his closest friend, he had the courage to hold his head high. Until one day, she has feelings for the man she idolizes.

"By the way Charlotte, you've only been friends with Prince Gabriel all this time?" Violet asked curiously, raising her head in front of Charlotte.

"What do you mean?"

"Haven't you always idolized him? You should have confessed your feelings to him before someone else grabbed him.”

Charlotte swiftly pressed Violet's mouth tightly with her palm as she surveyed her surroundings, afraid that someone would eavesdrop on their conversation. Violet pushed Charlotte's hand away roughly, snorting in annoyance.

"Why are you covering my mouth instead?" Violet asked, annoyed.

“Aish, why are you speaking not filtered first! What if someone else heard what you just said. Surely gossip will spread everywhere,” Charlotte grumbled, her lips pursed.

"But you really don't like him at all anyway?"

"What are you talking about! His family caste and ours are very different. He is a prince of this kingdom. It's impossible for a prince to like an ordinary woman like me, even if it's a noble family."

"Hmm it's not impossible for me as long as you try."

“It's clear that we can't possibly marry a member of the royal family. If that were to happen, there would indeed be a real miracle in my life.”

"Okay, how about we just make a bet?"

"A bet with me is also certain that I will win." Charlotte raised her eyebrows arrogantly.

"Not necessarily your thinking is completely correct. You better come with me!” invite Violet to take Charlotte's hand out of the classroom.

As the two of them were walking along the corridor, Charlotte's expression was filled with curiosity until her brow furrowed.

"Where are you going to take me anyway?"

"Definitely somewhere you really like."

In the middle of the road, suddenly heard the sound of classical music accompanied by a piano. Hearing his current rhythm, made her heart feel very calm. Unknowingly, her footsteps followed the source of the voice, which Violet followed from behind. The longer his voice sounded very clear, until finally she stopped her footsteps in front of a music room.

Full of curiosity, Charlotte peeked at the figure of the person playing the piano at this time through the glass window which happened to be not completely covered by the curtain. Her eyes widened perfectly when she looked at the figure of the person who was her idol.

"Why is your face like that?" Violet asked in surprise.

"Long live him."

"Don't tell me Prince Gabriel plays the piano."

"Indeed he is a professional pianist that I have met so far," said Charlotte chuckling in admiration with a sparkling look.

"You're not coming in?"

"No, I won't disturb his concentration."

"But isn't this a good opportunity to test it out?" Violet cracked a mischievous smile.

"It's rude to bother him now."

"Would you rather have him snatched up by another woman or are you testing him now?"

“In that case…”

“Never mind, you better follow my instructions.”

Without thinking, Violet immediately pushed open the classroom door so that it was wide open now, causing Gabriel to pause for a moment. Charlotte's gaze squinted at Violet, then lightly smacked her arm.

“Aish, why did you actually do it!” Charlotte scolded.

“Don't you want to test it? That's why, I can't wait for it,” Violet whispered, laughing softly.

Meanwhile, Gabriel's eyes focused on the woman he loved whose looks shone in his eyes, even though the current situation looked a little awkward. Spontaneously, his feet lifted towards the two girls who were arguing.

“Lady Charlotte,” Gabriel called softly.

Charlotte rolled her eyes perfectly while kneeling in front of him, putting on a pitiful face.

"Forgive me, Prince Gabriel," Charlotte coaxed politely.

“Why are you kneeling before me?” asked Gabriel confusedly, tilting his head.

“In that case, I will leave the two of you here.” Without any guilt, Violet ran as fast as lightning away from them.

Now the situation in the room is only the two of them left so it's even more awkward. Gabriel closed the door tightly, then crouched down in front of Charlotte who was still on her knees.

“Prince Gabriel, why are you kneeling before me? I should be the one on my knees.”

"Lady Charlotte, I have something to say."

"You'd better cut off my head. I did something inappropriate," said Charlotte, lowering her head.

“Keep your head up,” Gabriel pleaded quietly.

Charlotte complied, lifting her head slowly, opening her eyes wide in front of the handsome prince's eyes. His reaction was not anger, but rather his right hand stroked Charlotte's head gently.

“Prince Gabriel…” Charlotte whispered.

"I can't bear to cut off the head of the woman I like the most in my life," Gabriel said casually.

Charlotte's body froze when she heard the Prince's shocking scream. Her eyes swiftly avoided his gaze, shifting her body slowly.

“I… don't deserve… to be your woman.”

"Why do you think so?"

“That's because—”

“Could it be because of the caste difference?”

Charlotte nodded slowly, seeing her reaction just now made Gabriel laugh awkwardly.

"Why are you laughing?"

“You are very funny, Lady Charlotte. I don't care about caste at all. You are still a woman in my eyes. A woman who can make my life shine even more in the future.”

“But I didn't do much to you. Especially the mistake I made just now that really disturbed your peace of playing the piano.”

“Lady Charlotte Viscount, I am actually very happy to know that you came to me just now. I've been waiting for you for a long time."

"Sorry?"

Gabriel raised his body then extended his right hand to Charlotte, carving a warm smile on his face.

"Stand up and hold my hand."

"Sorry for my impudence."

Without further ado, Charlotte clasped her hands and slowly raised her body while bowing her head respectfully. Gabriel brought his lips to the top of his head, landing his sweet kiss deep for a few seconds.

“This proves how much I love you. You're the only woman I've touched all my life. Seeing your excellent character among all the women, I like you more and more. Judging from the glint in your eyes full of ambition, I'm sure you will become a woman who never gives up, even when faced with difficult problems, "Gabriel said with a sincere look, holding Charlotte's hand tightly.

"I didn't expect you to like me so much," Charlotte replied modestly.

“Lady Charlotte Viscount, will you be my lover?” Confidently, Gabriel kissed the back of Charlotte's hand gently.

Charlotte's heart was beating so fast that it wanted to fly freely in the air. Apart from being shot for the first time by a man, this is also the rarest moment in his life, namely being invited to be the lover of a Prince as well as his idol. The dream that he had been hiding all this time, finally came true without the need for a big struggle to get his heart.

Without thinking for long, Charlotte nodded slowly indicating that she agreed, then carved a happy smile.

"I am willing to be your lover, because I have always liked you."

“Thank God, you accepted me just now. It can be concluded from now on, we will date. Then you can talk casually with me.”

“But Prince Gabriel, isn't this an act of sin?”

"Gosh, you're so innocent! I'm actually very comfortable when you talk casually with me. Our relationship is deep now, I don't want you to talk to me like a stranger."

"Then what should I call you?"

"Just call me Gabriel. I want to be called casual by you. I will also call you Charlotte, from this moment on.”

“Alright, Gabriel, from now on I will call you that.” Charlotte's eyes lit up at the handsomeness of the Prince's face.

“By the way Charlotte, will you play the piano with me? I've always wanted to play with the woman I love."

"Of course I didn't reject it at all."

The prince led the woman he loved to sit on the bench in front of the piano, sitting next to each other. They began to play a classic instrument of their choice, playing with feeling.

"I'm so happy you actually opened the door earlier," Gabriel said, looking at him.

"What will happen if I open the door?"

"It means that it indicates that you are my true love. I want you to be mine forever.”

"What if it wasn't me who opened the door."

"Don't worry, I will still look for you because since the first time we met, your heart has been attached to me permanently. I love you very much, Charlotte." Gabriel kissed her cheek briefly.

Charlotte rested her head on her broad shoulders.

"I love you too, Gabriel."
