With an incredulous gaze, members of the Pentagon stared at Ivy and even though she was staring right back at them, they didn't think she was capable of the things Calvin was accusing her of.

"You're saying she attacked you with this?" Lucille asked as she picked up the axe lying in a corner.

"Yes" Calvin answered as he glared at Ivy.

"Great choice of weapons" Rufus remarked and for the first time, Ivy smiled.

Phiri ran a finger over the sharp edge of the axe. Though the blood stain on it was already dry, she was able to confirm that the blood was indeed Calvin's.

"The wound must have been very deep" she observed as she looked at Calvin's chest. He had taken off his ripped shirt and his bare chest had no injuries nor scars.

"Who sent you to do this?" Lucille asked Ivy but she remained quiet. "You've hid your scent pretty well that I can't even tell if you're a werewolf."

"She's definitely werewolf" Calvin chipped in. "I told you that she was at the assembly that night. She must have

Charlene did not expect to see Roman's face as she turned the man around. She had been so certain that it was Calvin and even if it wasn't him, it couldn't be Roman. She had to blink twice to be sure that her mind was not playing tricks on her. Roman was supposed to be dead but here he was, right in front of her and he seemed very much alive. Roman didn't know this woman and with the way she was staring at him with mouth agape and that shocked expression on her face, he was sure that she recognized him. He tried to juggle his memory, as he wondered if he also knew her. She was a very pretty young lady. The type that would cause any head to turn. Roman didn't think he knew her though. There was no way he could have forgotten a face like that.He watched her frown as she pulled back, letting go of his arm. Her eyes narrowed for a split second and then she stepped back, moving away from him. Roman knew that he wasn't supposed to be seen by someone who knew him, but he couldn't just h

Watching how Calvin's eyes blazed with a strange green, Richard smiled brightly, super pleased with himself. "How dare you say her name?" Calvin raged at him, red faced and voice filled with unmasked fury. "I should be the one getting mad" Richard yelled in righteous anger.Calvin didn't seem to be hearing him anymore. Consumed with anger, he pulled Richard by the collar and slammed his face into the nearest wall. "You are not allowed to breathe her name!" He seethed. "No one gave you the right to do that."Richard just snickered quietly under his breath."Why?" He pouted at him childishly. "She's not even your mate!""Don't be so sure about that" Calvin said with a smirk, applying more pressure to his grip, nearly strangling the man. He didn't understand why his temper was suddenly getting the best of him."I still don't understand why you're directing your anger at me" Richard managed to choke out the words. He was dead. She had confirmed it because she was sure. She had mourned for him and he now had a replacement. Though his body had gone missing, everyone had accepted that he was gone, never to return. She questioned herself.Seeing that he didn't hide or run away, Phiri figured that he probably wanted to have a word. With her hands, she signalled for him to wait. As soon as she did that, she hurried out of the conference room, ditched the elevator and then ran down the flight of stairs. There were a lot of stairs but Phiri was downstairs in less than a minute. Now, she was standing face to face with the man she had pronounced dead. It was indeed Roman and he was in the flesh!"Impossible", Phiri muttered inaudibly as she stared at Roman. In the dead of night, Mark paid a visit to Richard in the room where he had been locked in. He had something to discuss with that brother of his and it couldn't wait till morning."Who's there?" Richard asked as soon as the door creaked open. Mark turned on the lights, illuminating the dark room and he saw that Richard was already sitting up with a hand over his eyes, blocking the light. "Mark" Richard called as soon as his eyes adjusted to the light."Yes. It's just me, brother" Mark responded."What are you doing here so late?" Richard asked with a yawn. "Aren't you sleepy?"Mark scoffed at his brother's behaviour. It seemed that a house arrest was too good for him. This room was too good for someone like Richard. The room had every electronic gadget a man like Richard would need. The king sized bed was very soft and so were the pillows Richard used in propping his head up while sleeping. There were air-conditioners in the room and the bathroom even had a tub! From the paintings o

The bustle of moving boxes, bags and people was deafening. The smell of disinfectant and the constant ringing of the telephone hung in the cold night air. Charlene stood aside as she watched the hurried movements of her father's men. They were suddenly moving out, at the dead of night, with only what they needed. No one was talking, or even looking at each other. It was all business. As they worked to move everything into the cars, it became obvious to Charlene that it was really happening. They were really moving out of the house she had known as home for a long time. She felt a heaviness in her heart and it ached. She also told him about the vision she had seen concerning Roman. The war, the bl

Hearing the pain in Charlene's voice, Calvin was heartbroken. He wished he didn't have to hurt her like this, but this was inevitable since they were not meant to be. He wished he could answer her questions, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. How could he tell her that he couldn't be with her since they didn't have a future together? She would be shattered, he thought.Maybe she knew that Richard was her mate. But she had probably kept it from him because she wanted to be with him. "Calvin?" She whimpered and he just sighed."Please go to bed, Charlene" he told her. "We'll talk when next we see."Calvin was not emotionally ready to confront the situation with Charlene. Left to him, he would avoid the topic and eventually let it be, but she deserved an explanation for his sudden change of attitude towards her. "Earlier, you asked me to go home and now, it's go to bed?" Charlene asked in an angry voice. "Did I even mean anything to you? Are you really going to act like I do
