Damion checked the address for the fourth time, feeling the bags under his eyes. He strained against the exhaustion, forcing his mind and body to focus on the mission at hand. He looked up at an apartment building that was eight stories tall with a red brick exterior. Nigel and Joel flanked him, ready to kill this sick fuck that hurt his best friend's Mate. He felt eyes on them as they entered the building, but didn't care who watched him. They followed the steps to the fifth floor, walking down the sticky hallway until they reached the last door at the end. He nodded to Joel and Nigel before he slammed his foot against the door, sending it flying open and off its hinges. What he wasn't expecting to see was a lair of obsession.
Once Damion and Erica left the room, Jayce rose from his seat, circling his desk until he towered over Lily. She stared up at him with a defiant look on her face, but he knew better, and so did she. He grabbed her tank top, pulling her to him and kissed her hard. She leaned into him as he lead her to the couch. He tossed her down onto the sofa with a soft thud, a growl rumbling in his chest that ripped a loud moan from her lips."You're troublesome, you know that?" His hands unbuttoned his shirt as she pulled off her tank top. She no longer felt self-conscious about her body with him. He tossed his shirt aside, his mouth descending u
Maybe Erica was right. Maybe she was taking things too quickly with Jayce. She was always like this with a guy. She'd fall too quickly, and it would just be a mess in the end. The same result with Jasper, except he took things too far and she couldn't turn back. Jayce, to her, was like an untouchable force with a quick temper and an insatiable lust. Lily had sensed his power that flowed through his veins. The power of an Alpha. A King. He had grown accustomed to doing things alone, or with help from his Beta, Damion. Yet there was still this thick black curtain that stalled her from approaching him. It wasn't his Wolf. She faced him head on. He was purposely keeping her out, and for reasons she didn't know.
When he received a call from Damion that Lily was in trouble, he sure as Hell wasn't expecting for him to carry her into the pack house conference room unconscious with Erica and Doctor Marshall in tow. Damion kicked down his office door, interrupting a meeting with a couple of council members."Sorry gentleman, duty calls." Damion said to them as he laid Lily down on a couch staged off to the side. One of the council members turned up his nose at the sight of two humans in the room.
She looked at the poster that Erica taped on the wall behind their table. The large golden dragon staring down a lone woman fighter. Her fingers touched the woman's back, trying to borrow the strength she had. Tomorrow was the day. Jasper would meet his end, but the strength she yearned for from the fictional character didn't come. Instead, there was a growl in her mind. A familiar warmth and his scent wafted through her being and she glanced around, but Jayce wasn't with her.Mate.
"Hello?" He picked up his cell to an unknown number. Damion sat across from him at another desk in his large office in the pack house."Get your Alpha looking ass at the dress store right fucking now." Erica shouted at him. He held his phone away, his eyes looking over to Damion who recognized his Mate's temper easily."Can it wait?" He asked her after bringing his phone back to his ear.
The look on that Wolf's face was priceless!Jasper chuckled to himself as he made his way over to the motel he was crashing in just outside the city. He barely got away in time, but it was worth it. The rage. Anguish. The torment. Jasper felt himself harden as he entered his dark room. He glanced around as he turned on the light, his eyes lighting up as he looked at all the pictures of Lily on his walls. She was smiling, crying, screaming. She was clean, dirty, bloodied. He looked at the more recent pictures that he took of her, sleeping s
As she washed her face for the seventh time, she sighed heavily. She hadn't spoken to Jayce at all once they got home yesterday, and it was destroying her. She knew why he did what he did, and his reasons were justified, but she wanted to handle it specifically. Lily wanted some sort of control of her situation, and Jayce took it away from her. Control he gave her and immediately took it away. She thought she could be fine passing through the night without talking to him or sleeping beside him, but she yearned to be at his side. To embrace his muscular form until her body molded into his and to never separate again. Since she remained stubborn instead, she worked on her next draft for her novel while ignoring the sleep that tugged at the edges of her mind. Before she knew it, her clock flashed 6 AM in her face
That woman still amazes him. After the speech she gave this morning, she was the talk of the city. Mostly good, some are still a bit confused and angry that it's a Human that turned out to be their Luna instead of a She-Wolf. They'll get over it in time after she shows them she can handle the position flawlessly. A few whispers reached him about her situation. Did they believe her? What proof did she offer? The only proof she had was currently covered up with makeup from his mother. No matter. Fate already decided things, and he'll flow with it."My King." Someone called to him, making his Wolf growl. He turned to see a short, round
The sun casted its light across the ocean's surface, glistening blindingly in the summer heat. Waves licked the soft sand, smothering fresh foot prints that were left behind. Lily walked along the shore, the water lapping at her ankles, its warmth barely mimicking that of the sun's rays on her already lightly tanned skin. Her blonde hair swayed against her lower back, slightly frizzed from the humidity. Sweat and the ocean spray carried by the gentle breeze speckled her skin with tiny droplets. She gazed out at the ocean, the water going on for miles. She ran her fingers over her bikini top, feeling the slivers of her scars that continued to decorate her skin. Her fingers stopped as they reached her lower belly where a new addition of scars now existed. She smiled to herself as she traced the long scar. Sh
Jayce stood in front of his mirror, his white button up still on done, a vibrant emerald tie sitting around his neck untouched. He tilted his head slightly until Lily's bite came into view. It had been roughly a week or so now that she had bit him, and yet it had not healed completely. In her words and that of his Wolf, their bond was just that strong that her Mark held true. Yet his gut was telling him something else was at play, but he didn't know as to what yet.
The moon shined in through the dark curtains, casting shadows across her black comforter. She knew it was late, but her mind just wouldn't shut down. She wished to blame it on wedding jitters, but the way her chest constricted with the usual panicked feeling, she knew it was worse than that. The idea of Karmina hunting her down specifically, the Supernatural world being much larger than she realized. Jayce knew. They all did, and she was kept out of the loop. He can say it was for her safety, but she thought he would know better by now.
He was leading Lily through the pack house blindfolded, the others following close behind them. After breakfast, everyone had gathered to go over what was left on the to-do list. Luna Isis had taken over as the wedding planner, relieving Lily of the burden. Luna Ella offered to be the photographer, bragging a bit about her photography studio in Louisiana. Alpha Javon offered to be the ordained minister for them, and Archibald practically demanded to cover the music. Lily looked uncertain about the Alpha controlling the music for the reception and Jayce couldn't blame her. He was devious with his antics in Hawaii, tempting his King with beautiful women. Never again will he be swayed other than by his Queen. Nathan and Selene were talking at the back of the group, discussing the layout of the venue set up Lily
Jayce advised the Lunas and Alphas to leave them be for the rest of the evening and they would gather in the morning to get the last minute details wrapped up for the wedding. At first the Lunas were hesitant to leave her alone, especially Selene. Maybe the Luna, soon to be Alpha, felt responsible for what her deceased husband did, but Lily could never blame her. There may have been a point in time where Lukas was a decent man, and he truly cared about Selene, but that man surrendered himself to a being unheard of. Karmina. Was she that enticing of a character? Should she be worried about the other Alphas succumbing to her? What about Jayce?
When did Lily become so grown up?His little girl was speaking to a group of She-Wolves after their dinner wrapped up. He knew that she was a people pleaser, but this atmosphere that surrounds her now is of something much higher than himself. Even Erica was taking part and she could care less about formal parties, that's just how she was. Yet here they both were, still together after all this time.
He watched his love give and receive the respect of a Luna before his very eyes. His heart swelled up with pride as she talked to the women as if they have been life long friends. Since arriving at his home, she had grown so much. Much more than he had, but he wanted to believe he was still a work in progress and that took getting her trust back and forgiving him."There is one other point of discussion we need to cover while we're all here." He announced, his voice silencing the group. Lily looked at him confused, her green eyes sparkling up at him.
Icould have saved him...The nurse that examined Lily gave her a frown like she could read her mind. Lukas was too far gone to even bother saving, but his Wolf? His Wolf still had a clear conscious. He still served his King to the very end. She just hoped he found the peace he needed to move on."Lily." Damion spoke, but she didn't glance his way. H
"Is Lily my sister?" He asked Derek. The Alpha shut his eyes and for a moment Jayce grew scared and horrified. After finding the picture of a woman that was the spitting image of Lily in his jacket pocket, he had a million questions added on from what he already had. He got lucky to arrive in time when Lukas was about to go in for the kill on Lily. Jayce only saw red after that, tearing Lukas apart until he was barely breathing. Then when he turned his attention on Derek who was already shifted back and injured, Lily had crossed his path, defending him."He saved me." She had said before passing out. Now she lay in a hospital b
