Gender reveal

Hours, I had spent hours baking a gender reveal cake. Three tiers, with pink coloured vanilla tasting sponge on the inside, but no one knows that yet. The outside was white icing with pink and blue buttercream piped flowers and I had even made two floating balloons, one pink and one blue.

“What’s this?” Colette gasps as she walks into the front room from having been out all day with Mav.

“This is a gender reveal cake!” I beam at her.

“My Mum used to make celebratory cakes for special occasions in the pack, and well, I wanted to do something special for you both!” I trail off a bit towards the end, slightly embarrassed just in case it tasted awful.

“Oh Aida, it’s beautiful!” She says in earnest as she inspects the cake.

“But, we haven’t told anyone so I’m not sure if it will be right…” Her eyes widen in panic.

“Erm, so I may have let it slip to Aida…” Mav places his hands on his wife’s shoulders, letting her know gently.

“What?” Axel stands up from the sofa and wa

Back to the new norm. The next few days sped by and I was sad to leave Colette’s and Mav’s home after enjoying my winter break. The plan was for Axel to drive myself, Mav, Blake and Tucker back to base on the Monday, ready to return to training on Tuesday. I had promised to speak with Colette as much as I could and wanted to know every pregnancy development of their baby girl. Lance had returned early to push through Rafe’s application quickly and to sort out a few issues that had arisen in his absence. I missed him terribly, even more so on New Year’s Eve and I was forced to kiss Tucker at midnight. Just a peck but to kiss Axel would have been gross and Mav was definitely off limits. I had offered to kiss Blake but that meant Axel and Tucker would be paired up and both refused on the spot. It was now Monday and we had arrived back at the base camp approximately an hour ago. We were expecting the new recruits later this afternoon and arrived in time to have lunch in the canteen befo

Betting“Five! I bet five!” Tucker says placing a twenty pound note on the canteen table. I had just collected my lunch and placed my tray down to join them for lunch. “Are you mad? That’s far too many….I say two!” Blake says also placing twenty pounds on the table. “What are you both going on about?” I ask opening my bottle of water, taking a sip. I was thirsty from my bonus activity with Lance. “How many recruits will pull out by the end of the week!” Tucker smirks as he informs me of the bet.“Three!” Axel puts his bet down joining in. “You guys are sick!” I respond shaking my head. “Why?” Axel sits back, placing his arm on the back of my chair. “You are trying to make money out of people’s failures!” “So?” Tate responds, placing more money on the table. “Hong? Say something…” I look to my fellow werewolf for back up. “If I happen bet the same, do we split it?” He says placing money on the table. “Who are you looking to match?” Blake asks, shoving food in her mouth. “I t

Keeping a promise nonetheless. I was walking back from training with Blake, giggling about her impending flirting with the new trainees and whether she could get away with it under Lance’s careful watch. She was rating the new recruits when one of Spike’s friends walks past us and I use the opportunity to find out where Nadine is based. “Hey…” Awkward, I don’t actually know his name.“Bernie!” Bernie rolls his eyes at me. “Hey Bernie. Odd question but where does Nadine stay?”“Why?” He rightfully asks, cagey towards me. “If I lost I promised Spike I would check on Nadine…” I admit. “But you won!” He narrows his eyes at me. “I would like to check on her anyway!”We walk into Building B to find a new female unpacking at a recently added third bed. “Hello!” Blake walks in before me, greeting our, I mean her new room mate. I was fighting the urge to run up those stairs into Lance’s apartment and nuzzle into his neck. “Hi…I’m Nyah!” She smiles at us both in a confident manner. And

Not quite driving, but a start. “Hhhmm good morning!” Lance hums into my ear, as his morning arousal digs into my lower spine. “Morning!” I yawn. Hadn’t we only just gone to sleep? After watching me eat dinner, like I was deliberately taking my time, he placed me in the shower where we did it, and then dried me on the bed, where we did it, and then as we went to bed, when we did it for the third time that evening. Four times in total yesterday including our morning reunion! I was going to have to eat more! “I have to get up for a meeting, go back to sleep for a bit!” He says as he kisses my breasts. “If you insist!” I reply, pulling my hands through his hair. “Save it for later!” He kisses my lips before springing out of bed. “Later? No I need to sleep in my quarters Lance!” I call out to him as he walks into the kitchen to make a coffee. “You can’t! People will know, we are either a couple or you are using me for sex to get ahead. I have a reputation Aida!” He chuckles out fro

Training with witches. “Tucker, Mav switch stages with me!” Alpha commands as he approaches us from behind carrying a lantern in his hands. They acknowledge their orders as Alpha joins Lance talking to the small but mighty group of witches. I take a step closer, joining Tate, Blake and Hong, who are standing watching the witches also. Hong and Tate have a very different expression to Blake. They might as well be drooling. “Where are you going?” I growl at Axel for taking steps towards the witches. “To say hello!” He smirks at me, fully aware at how hard I am finding this situation. Jerk! “This doesn’t sit well with me!” I whisper to Blake. “What the hot witches chatting up your boyfriend or that witches are part of training today!” “He isn’t my boyfriend!” I seethe through gritted teeth at her, turning to stand in front of her, positioning myself face to face. “So you won’t mind that Lance’s hand is currently placed on a witch’s behind?” She smirks at me. “I’m not falling for

Returned from the dead. Odd, these witches were odd. They weren’t hurting me, just touching me. “What are they doing?” I can hear Axel ask Lance. It was as if I were underwater, I could hear everything on the outside but it wasn’t completely clear. “I don’t know.” Lance roars in anger, his wolf pushing forward, clawing at the orb. “Aida?” Axel runs up to the orb and places his palm against it. “Are you okay?” His voice sounded desperate. “Yes, they aren’t hurting me I just don’t like it.” I whisper but I don’t think Axel has heard me. “I’ll get you out!” Lance replies. How can he hear me but not Axel? “Lance…I don’t like this.” I whisper back. “I know, just stay calm.” He says standing back, his eyes glazing over into a mind-link. “Orb….”“Death…”The witches repeat for a few minutes in a trance and at first I am oblivious to what they mean, until flashbacks hit my mind of the moment I died in the car crash. How could they know? “What is going on?” The Lycan Queen’s aura is

I’m still me. “Out, everybody OUT!” I awake to the angry voice of Lance coming from the living room of his apartment. I am laying in his bed, oblivious to how long I may have been laying here. “Lance, I have questions…” A stern female voice objects. “I said OUT!” He roars out loud. He can’t talk to the Lycan Queen like that, he’ll get arrested or something.“Lance…calm down.” Blake growls at her cousin. “I’m not going until she is awake.” I hear Axel start a sit-in protest as he makes himself comfortable on the sofa. “Axel, she is mine not yours!” He growls at his good friend. “Not yet she isn’t and I’m not going until I know she is okay!” Axel growls in return. “Fine.” Lance sighs. “Everybody else out.” He orders. “No Lance, this is a big deal. Why were the witches talking about Aida being dead, is it a premonition?” Blake pushes for information. “I can’t remember…”“Bullshit. I saw what the witches did to you. They showed you something…something from Aida’s past.” Rafe pip

Home made lycan vodka. Just keep smiling, just keep smiling. It was my current motto. I refused to eat in the canteen, I tried it the following day after the incident but couldn’t eat. Whispers and stares were constantly about and on me. Even training was awkward. The only thing I actually enjoyed was my private driving lessons with Lance, I can’t believe I’ve used driving and enjoyed in the same sentence. He was incredibly patient with me and we had managed to keep the engine running for up to two minutes before I change my mind and turn it off. Hopefully I could string it out long enough so that when May came, I could graduate without having actually driven the car. I stayed with Lance every night, he was with me for every training session…he was clearly taking the witches warning seriously. Today was Friday and I was looking forward to shutting that apartment door and locking it shut this weekend. I just needed to hide away for a day or two. “Aida, there you are!” Nyah walks up

Finally the truth! “What is going on?” Ricardo seeks out information due to my current lack of speech. “Your majesty, Alpha Ike is in the final stages.” The pack doctor responds respectfully to Ricardo. “What?” I gasp out loud. I knew he was ill, Alpha Hansen had warned me Father had months but I thought even that was exaggerated. I didn’t expect weeks! “Aida?” He removes his oxygen mask and places his hand out for me to hold. What is this? The confessions of a dying man. Admitting sins to the moon goddess. I should be sad, any normal daughter would be sobbing at the scene in front of her. But I wasn’t a normal daughter, I was shunned for so long I wasn’t sure my heart would ever return here. “Let’s give them some privacy.” Ricardo orders. “Aida…I’ll be downstairs if you need me!” He whispers into my ear. I don’t miss the scowl Saskia gives me for being in favour with the Lycan King. Oh if only you knew sweetheart. My growl back to her is enough for Henri to growl threateningly a

The biggest of sins. We were due to leave in a few hours time. I now had no hold-all so I was in the Alpha’s office waiting for Luna Rennie to find me a replacement bag. I had knocked on the door to ask having not seen Alpha Ray or Luna Rennie since Lance’s and Axel’s departure. Alpha Ray was visiting the hospital and Luna was due to join him after finding me a bag. Rory walks into the office with a hold-all in hand, passing it over to me. “Here, Mum said you needed a bag, use this one.” “Thank you, I’ll get it sent back.”“Don’t worry about it.” He waves his hands in the air. “Alpha Rory, I’m really sorry that I brought all this trouble on your doorstep.” My guilt had only been growing since Lynx told me Nadine had flagged that I was looking to put their baby up for adoption. The Mulder pack being the only one to do it in the country. “Aida, we consider you part of the family now, we’d always protect you.” He earnestly says as he sits at his Father’s desk. “Even so….is there any

A mission. By the time we returned to the cars, Fern, the witch, had disappeared and Lance and Ricardo were now free. We decide to hold back all information until we are back safely at the Mulder pack, where we demand an emergency meeting with all Lycans, Tate and the Mulder Alpha family. The journey back was awkward, Lance growling constantly in the back seat with me firmly placed on his lap. Poor Rafe who was in the back with us again, looked terrified the Lycan Prince was going to lash out at any moment. Between myself, Mav and Axel we informed the trusted parties what we had learnt and what we had been told. Blake couldn’t get her head around Lynx and Spike switching places, taking turns at training and even with Nadine. Lance’s grip on my hips as I sat on his lap was incredibly intense. I knew the two hours deadline by Lynx didn’t give us a lot of time, the discussions were rushed and had a sense of panic to them. “Can we spare anyone that can follow him?” Ricardo puts to the

A revelation in the woods. My wolf had a very strong feeling to go to the tree line when I noticed activity on night watch the night before the attack. I couldn’t explain it, it was just a gut feeling I had. But I knew I couldn’t go alone, I would never do that to Lance or Axel. Florence and Jade wouldn’t have me making my own food, so they were currently putting a massive luncheon on the dining table. Typical shifters…the smell of food and they come running. Within minutes, Axel and I were joined by the lycans, Tate, and the Mulder family. Lance lovingly kissed my neck but then went on to pick out sausages, burgers and bacon. He went for the French fries but a growl from my chest made it very clear I had first dibs. He chuckled at my behaviour before standing me up, sitting on my chair and then pulling me into his lap. Chairs had clearly been borrowed from pack member’s homes to fit all the guests around the table. I waited until they at least had some food in their bellies before I

Not a good patient. I couldn’t breathe! I was kicking and clawing at the male on top of me holding my throat in his hands. Moments from death I look up over my head at the male that had just entered the room. No it can’t be? He is dead. I was there when he died. He’s looking at me with regret, he didn’t want this, he didn’t want me like this. What did he want, to talk? We were beyond talking. If he really was alive, I’d kill him with my own hands. “Aida…Aida wake up.” Lance’s gentle voice calls to me in my sleep. It’s like being called to the safety of a lighthouse in the darkest and stormiest of seas. I must have fallen asleep in his arms. His regular steady breathing creating a calming repetitive rhythm that was similar to being rocked to sleep. “Lance?” I had forgotten about my throat before I called out his name. It still stung but I could now at least talk. It was hoarse sounding, but it could be understood. “Aida?” He greets my voice with a kiss to my neck, which leads me to

Bruised and Silent. With my breathing restricted, I pull my eyes back on the wolf on top of me, as my mind starts to sink into darkness. Before my remaining eye closes I hear monstrous growls, Lycan growls. At first I panic, thinking that they did have lycan rebels on stand by. But then his scent hits me, toffee and plum, the richness of his scent just as strong as ever. It’s the best way for me to go. Knowing he was close by. I turn my head slightly to see Axel, Tucker, Mav and even Ricardo have entered the school assembly hall. Ricardo is surrounded by seven males I didn’t know but judging by their similar looks, these were Blake’s older brothers. They didn’t hold any terror in their eyes, just a thirst for blood. An almost competitive look to who can kill the most rebel rogues. The Lycans are like a tidal wave, wiping out everything in their path, without hesitation. I thought for a moment that Lance was coming to me, his scent was closer but then it becomes slightly distant agai

Special chapter. Lance’s point of view Fighting for his love. My anger was fading. I had spent almost a week in Lycan wolf form and getting back to nature was just what I needed. Aida marking me took me by surprise, I expected myself to mark her before she was eighteen, not the other way round. The moment she arrived for training and got out of that car with Trey, my world stopped. I didn’t know how to react at first, my honest disbelief that the Moon Goddess would pair me with a she-wolf. But then I watched her, she was anything but a she-wolf. If anything her she-wolf status held her back. She was made for me, made to be the princess by my side and that was before I knew she was a pack princess. Time and time again, I had to listen to stories from others about how she had been neglected and I couldn’t…didn’t want to believe the abusive stories I had been told at the hands of her Father, Brother and Luna, until I witnessed things for myself on the King’s pack visit. The witches a

Fighting alone. I gently place Olivia back on the floor and stand up to talk quietly to the teachers. Realistically I was the closest thing to a warrior. I was the only one trained enough to defend all these children. “Have you heard from either of the Alphas?” I whisper to the male teacher. “No, I can’t get through.” Damn what I would give for a mind-link right now. “Why would intruders be breaking into the school?” I whisper. “We don’t know.” Mrs Townsend responds in a state of nerves. Yep, I literally was the only one trained to fight. Whatever comes through those assembly hall doors would have to kill me to get to these children. “Okay…is there anywhere safe to hide the children? I ask the collection of teachers. “The bunker…but it’s near the pack house.” The male teacher responds. “If I cause a distraction and you see a chance, take the children there.” I command at the teachers. “They aren’t meant to get through the school, if they can get through the school…they can g

I was taking part in night time patrol, which Tate spent every night scowling at me, he was my punishment buddy. I was spending all day at the school with the children and also helping the Alpha Ray and Alpha Rory out with pack administration. I was waiting for Alpha Ray to come find me to lock me in their basement, to refuse me food…but this pack was everything a wolf pack should be. I spent every meal time giggling with Rafe, while Rory rolled eyes at our immature behaviour. I was sincerely considering asking Alpha Ray if I could join the Mulder pack after graduation. To adopt them as my new family. “So Aida, what is the plan for after training?” Luna Rennie asked last night at dinner. “I’m not really sure. I know I do not want to return back to the Sagar pack. Actually I was considering maybe joining this pack…if you’d have me?”“You don’t want to return home?” Luna Rennie
