A lightbulb moment.

He looks tired, he looks warn! His hair has grown longer, parted in the centre with delicious brown locks threatening to fall into his eyes and he has a short beard with warm golden highlights.

I take a step in front of Rafe, who pulls me back behind him. Growls emit from my friends, Mav in particular who I know is blaming himself for my disappearance.

“Look…” I put my hands up to Lance trying to diffuse the tension.

“Did they or did they not take you without your consent?” He shouts at me.

Rafe takes a step forward trying to pull me back, the wolf protection gene kicking in. Alpha Rory takes a strategic step towards me also and stands a foot ahead of me.

“My lord….”

“Did you take this she-wolf without her consent?” His cold eyes glare at Rory.

“She entered our land without permission, we have protocols to follow…”

A loud roar leaves Lance’s chest as he takes a threatening step towards Rory. Defensive, I feel defensive about the Mulder Alpha family, yes th

Unwanted visitors Judging by all of Colette’s excitement in the build up to Christmas, except for me going missing, isn’t it meant to be a joyous event? Now correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Christmas Day meant to be about the sweet laughter of your friends and family, not the roaring commotion that has woken me up! I pull my phone out from my handbag to see the time is 8.23am. My phone needs charging and I reach to the bedside table to grab the cable. Once my phone is plugged in I see missed calls from a number already programmed into my phone…Alpha Rory. Typical alphas, he couldn’t even just put Rory, I chuckle to myself. Oops, twenty missed calls wasn’t a good sign. I hear Colette’s raised voice downstairs and decide to jump out of bed to see if she needs my help. I race down the stairs peeking into the front room to see Colette, Mav, Axel, Tucker, Blake and Lance glaring at Rory and Rafe who seem to have made themselves at home. “Look we just want to make sure she is okay!” Rafe

Moon bathing I kiss him back as if he were disappearing again, as if I need to leave a memory for him. He pushes me against the fridge and I can feel my core becoming wet against his harden groin. He continues to kiss me and I haven’t got the will power to pull away. With his hands on my ass he squeezes it before managing to be the one to pull away. He starts to say something but I don’t want to talk, I just want to kiss. I pull him back to me by his neck and run my hands through his longer uncut hair. “Aida!” He calls my name through our kissing. My heat is spreading and every kiss of his leaves tingles all over my mouth. A hand moves up to my face leaving the same tingles on my cheek. “Aida…” He pulls me away cupping my cheek in his hand. “We have an audience!” He smirks at me as he side nods his head to the front room. My wolf feels appeased for now and pulls back from channeling through me. I straighten my pyjama vest that had ridden up slightly exposing my taut stomach. “You

An injection of wolfsbane.“You can’t be serious?” She keeps her voice low. “Just a small drop, just to calm the hormones and take the symptoms away.” I shrug at her, it’s really not a big deal. “Do you have any?” I ask her not getting my hopes up. “Well actually yes!”“What? You do?” I sit bolt upright. “Yes, I’m a medic who does missions with lycans. Of course I have wolfsbane!” She keeps her voice down to a hushed tone. I jump up off the grass and start to pull her gently up too. “What, now?” She moans at me as she bends her back out from discomfort. “No time like the present!” I beam at her. Within minutes I had her inside the house and in the kitchen. She places her medical set on the kitchen work top and looks through her items. I notice the dent in the fridge and feel awful. I also feel awful that I allowed a pregnant human woman lay outside in the cold, on damp grass. “Why we’re you up so early anyway?” I turn to her watching her look through small bottles of liquid.

Star gazing Once again the wolfsbane does the trick and I wake up feeling refreshed having had no bad dreams. I check the time and I’ve missed lunch! I head downstairs to find everyone playing a board game in the front room. “What’s going on?” I smile at their bickering. “Tucker is cheating…” Blake exhales her breath in frustration. “I’m not cheating, your just a sore loser!” He smirks taking game money out of her hands. “You’re out!” “This game sucks anyway…” Blake stands up walking to the kitchen. I look at Lance who is closest to me, sitting at the first seat on the sofa. Weirdly I want to sit on his lap and curl into him but I don’t know how to. So I sit on the edge of the sofa, looking at Lance’s game money and whether he is doing well. My stomach swoops as I am pulled over the edge of the sofa by his sexy strong arms and placed on his lap. He puts his arms around me, cocooning me safely into his chest and rests his chin on my shoulder. The game ends with Colette finding

A car crash. I wake up to find myself back in the passenger seat and Lance driving us back to Colette’s and Mav’s. “Morning!” He smiles as he pulls up to a drive through coffee outlet. “I’ve got to search the Mulder pack lands today. Axel mind-linked worried where you were and as punishment for his sleepless night demanded we get him some coffee!” He laughs at his friend’s behaviour. I sit up in the chair and glance at myself in the overhead mirror, goddess what a state! “What do you want?”“Erm latte and a muffin please? No coffee for Colette, she has bloods today!” I remind him. “Right, well remembered!” We make an order, of a lot of different coffee drinks, and drive back to the house. I’m already dreading the look from Axel and Blake, and the questions from Colette. So as we arrive, I cleverly race up the stairs to freshen myself up and change my outfit for the day. Lance doesn’t seem to care, but why would he, he’d look drop dead gorgeous in three week old jeans and a dirt

A weapon of choice“Well hello Princess!” One of the rogues steps forward taking his position in the middle of the three of them. The trio of rogues had long unkept hair, week’s worth of stubble, jeans with holes in the knees and trainers that had seen better days. Who on earth was leading them? They clearly weren’t being looked after and it wasn’t unusual for wolf rogues to be manipulated by withholding food, perhaps this was happening to the lycan rebels too. “Look, I’m not here to cause trouble! I just need to help my friends and I’ll leave!” I respond hoping they’ve just come across us and not the ones who caused it. Judging by their demonic laughter, they caused this. Which means they put an innocent human in harm’s way and risked outing our communities. “What do you want?” I roar at them, I’ve had enough now! Leave me the hell alone. “Aida…” Colette gasps at my shockingly loud roar. “I heard you were feisty. Does that lead into the bedroom?” Clearly the leader of the group,

His rejection “You licked her?” I can hear the soft murmurings of Doctor Wessex’s voice as I start to come to. “Of course I did, I needed to get the rogue’s saliva out of her system!” Lance retorts back. “She has alpha blood Lance, she would have healed nicely herself!”“What do you mean?” Lance’s voice sounds confused. “Your saliva being in her system…might encourage the bond more!” “Well that’s only a good thing right?”“Yes but Aida has her barriers up for a reason Lance! She’s been through a lot!” Doctor Wessex gently responds as he touches my ankle. The touch causes me to snap my eyes open from the pain. “Aida…you’re with us!” The good Doctor smiles at me, a knowing smile. He knew I was listening in. “Where’s Colette? Is she okay?” “Ah Colette and baby are doing fine. Nothing a day or two of bed rest won’t solve. Mav is also back to a full bill of health. It’s you we were worried about!” He looks at me from above his glasses. “Me?” “You did incredibly well to fight them

Lycan strength alcohol.Alcohol…alcohol was my friend right now. Scrap that, white wine, white Lycan-strength wine, was my friend and I was on my second bottle already. Mav had refused to get me the second bottle after I drank the first one over dinner. I had found the second bottle chilling in their dented fridge…oops! I forgot about that damage. The third bottle I had found in a corner cupboard and had secretly placed it in the freezer to cool down quicker. I didn’t plan to fall asleep tonight, I planned to pass out. I had enjoyed my break from the dark dreams and wasn’t ready for them to return. Which with my current mood, I knew they would. Colette had gone to bed ages ago! Mav was refusing to leave me alone, I think he knows about the third wine bottle. Which makes me giggle to myself every so often. He must think I’m such a loose cannon. Clearly the young she-wolf isn’t good enough for his best friend after all! See this is the exact reason I try not to get too attached. By 1

Finally the truth! “What is going on?” Ricardo seeks out information due to my current lack of speech. “Your majesty, Alpha Ike is in the final stages.” The pack doctor responds respectfully to Ricardo. “What?” I gasp out loud. I knew he was ill, Alpha Hansen had warned me Father had months but I thought even that was exaggerated. I didn’t expect weeks! “Aida?” He removes his oxygen mask and places his hand out for me to hold. What is this? The confessions of a dying man. Admitting sins to the moon goddess. I should be sad, any normal daughter would be sobbing at the scene in front of her. But I wasn’t a normal daughter, I was shunned for so long I wasn’t sure my heart would ever return here. “Let’s give them some privacy.” Ricardo orders. “Aida…I’ll be downstairs if you need me!” He whispers into my ear. I don’t miss the scowl Saskia gives me for being in favour with the Lycan King. Oh if only you knew sweetheart. My growl back to her is enough for Henri to growl threateningly a

The biggest of sins. We were due to leave in a few hours time. I now had no hold-all so I was in the Alpha’s office waiting for Luna Rennie to find me a replacement bag. I had knocked on the door to ask having not seen Alpha Ray or Luna Rennie since Lance’s and Axel’s departure. Alpha Ray was visiting the hospital and Luna was due to join him after finding me a bag. Rory walks into the office with a hold-all in hand, passing it over to me. “Here, Mum said you needed a bag, use this one.” “Thank you, I’ll get it sent back.”“Don’t worry about it.” He waves his hands in the air. “Alpha Rory, I’m really sorry that I brought all this trouble on your doorstep.” My guilt had only been growing since Lynx told me Nadine had flagged that I was looking to put their baby up for adoption. The Mulder pack being the only one to do it in the country. “Aida, we consider you part of the family now, we’d always protect you.” He earnestly says as he sits at his Father’s desk. “Even so….is there any

A mission. By the time we returned to the cars, Fern, the witch, had disappeared and Lance and Ricardo were now free. We decide to hold back all information until we are back safely at the Mulder pack, where we demand an emergency meeting with all Lycans, Tate and the Mulder Alpha family. The journey back was awkward, Lance growling constantly in the back seat with me firmly placed on his lap. Poor Rafe who was in the back with us again, looked terrified the Lycan Prince was going to lash out at any moment. Between myself, Mav and Axel we informed the trusted parties what we had learnt and what we had been told. Blake couldn’t get her head around Lynx and Spike switching places, taking turns at training and even with Nadine. Lance’s grip on my hips as I sat on his lap was incredibly intense. I knew the two hours deadline by Lynx didn’t give us a lot of time, the discussions were rushed and had a sense of panic to them. “Can we spare anyone that can follow him?” Ricardo puts to the

A revelation in the woods. My wolf had a very strong feeling to go to the tree line when I noticed activity on night watch the night before the attack. I couldn’t explain it, it was just a gut feeling I had. But I knew I couldn’t go alone, I would never do that to Lance or Axel. Florence and Jade wouldn’t have me making my own food, so they were currently putting a massive luncheon on the dining table. Typical shifters…the smell of food and they come running. Within minutes, Axel and I were joined by the lycans, Tate, and the Mulder family. Lance lovingly kissed my neck but then went on to pick out sausages, burgers and bacon. He went for the French fries but a growl from my chest made it very clear I had first dibs. He chuckled at my behaviour before standing me up, sitting on my chair and then pulling me into his lap. Chairs had clearly been borrowed from pack member’s homes to fit all the guests around the table. I waited until they at least had some food in their bellies before I

Not a good patient. I couldn’t breathe! I was kicking and clawing at the male on top of me holding my throat in his hands. Moments from death I look up over my head at the male that had just entered the room. No it can’t be? He is dead. I was there when he died. He’s looking at me with regret, he didn’t want this, he didn’t want me like this. What did he want, to talk? We were beyond talking. If he really was alive, I’d kill him with my own hands. “Aida…Aida wake up.” Lance’s gentle voice calls to me in my sleep. It’s like being called to the safety of a lighthouse in the darkest and stormiest of seas. I must have fallen asleep in his arms. His regular steady breathing creating a calming repetitive rhythm that was similar to being rocked to sleep. “Lance?” I had forgotten about my throat before I called out his name. It still stung but I could now at least talk. It was hoarse sounding, but it could be understood. “Aida?” He greets my voice with a kiss to my neck, which leads me to

Bruised and Silent. With my breathing restricted, I pull my eyes back on the wolf on top of me, as my mind starts to sink into darkness. Before my remaining eye closes I hear monstrous growls, Lycan growls. At first I panic, thinking that they did have lycan rebels on stand by. But then his scent hits me, toffee and plum, the richness of his scent just as strong as ever. It’s the best way for me to go. Knowing he was close by. I turn my head slightly to see Axel, Tucker, Mav and even Ricardo have entered the school assembly hall. Ricardo is surrounded by seven males I didn’t know but judging by their similar looks, these were Blake’s older brothers. They didn’t hold any terror in their eyes, just a thirst for blood. An almost competitive look to who can kill the most rebel rogues. The Lycans are like a tidal wave, wiping out everything in their path, without hesitation. I thought for a moment that Lance was coming to me, his scent was closer but then it becomes slightly distant agai

Special chapter. Lance’s point of view Fighting for his love. My anger was fading. I had spent almost a week in Lycan wolf form and getting back to nature was just what I needed. Aida marking me took me by surprise, I expected myself to mark her before she was eighteen, not the other way round. The moment she arrived for training and got out of that car with Trey, my world stopped. I didn’t know how to react at first, my honest disbelief that the Moon Goddess would pair me with a she-wolf. But then I watched her, she was anything but a she-wolf. If anything her she-wolf status held her back. She was made for me, made to be the princess by my side and that was before I knew she was a pack princess. Time and time again, I had to listen to stories from others about how she had been neglected and I couldn’t…didn’t want to believe the abusive stories I had been told at the hands of her Father, Brother and Luna, until I witnessed things for myself on the King’s pack visit. The witches a

Fighting alone. I gently place Olivia back on the floor and stand up to talk quietly to the teachers. Realistically I was the closest thing to a warrior. I was the only one trained enough to defend all these children. “Have you heard from either of the Alphas?” I whisper to the male teacher. “No, I can’t get through.” Damn what I would give for a mind-link right now. “Why would intruders be breaking into the school?” I whisper. “We don’t know.” Mrs Townsend responds in a state of nerves. Yep, I literally was the only one trained to fight. Whatever comes through those assembly hall doors would have to kill me to get to these children. “Okay…is there anywhere safe to hide the children? I ask the collection of teachers. “The bunker…but it’s near the pack house.” The male teacher responds. “If I cause a distraction and you see a chance, take the children there.” I command at the teachers. “They aren’t meant to get through the school, if they can get through the school…they can g

Night time patrol. If this was punishment, then sign me up anytime. I mean I was pushed hard at training. I was taking part in night time patrol, which Tate spent every night scowling at me, he was my punishment buddy. I was spending all day at the school with the children and also helping the Alpha Ray and Alpha Rory out with pack administration. I was waiting for Alpha Ray to come find me to lock me in their basement, to refuse me food…but this pack was everything a wolf pack should be. I spent every meal time giggling with Rafe, while Rory rolled eyes at our immature behaviour. I was sincerely considering asking Alpha Ray if I could join the Mulder pack after graduation. To adopt them as my new family. “So Aida, what is the plan for after training?” Luna Rennie asked last night at dinner. “I’m not really sure. I know I do not want to return back to the Sagar pack. Actually I was considering maybe joining this pack…if you’d have me?”“You don’t want to return home?” Luna Rennie
