Bella's POV

When I saw the strange woman walk inside Chad's office, I had a bad feeling, but when I saw Dane coming out and leaving them alone, my heart plummeted. I had had traumatic experiences with men cheating in their offices. I took a breath, trying to relax. Chad isn't like Jasper. He would explain to me if I asked him. I turned to look at the closed door again. The woman was beautiful, and she looked free-spirited. I shuddered, but I left. I trust Chad.

"Hey, Bella, are you ready?" Elise came out of nowhere. I just remembered I was supposed to meet my friends to prepare for the Lunas and Alphas' dinner. "Yes, I'm ready. Let's go." I said, still glancing towards the office.

"Did you tell the king? Lately, he has been acting like a dog with a bone when it comes to you." I giggled because she was right, and the fact that he was alone with a woman inside his office shouldn't face me. He adores me, doesn't he? If I ask him, he will tell me who that woman was.

Bella's POV Arona stood tall with a hand on her hip, ready for her showdown-like ways. Chad held me closer to his side, but I pulled myself free and stood before him. Lava was running through my veins. She had no right to talk about my family. I looked at her fiercely, waiting for her reply. I saw Jasper with the corner of my eye, lifting his glass towards me in a toast. "Well, Alpha of Keladia, how would you like to know that while you were risking your lives on the battlefield, the cowardly Lockwoods were hiding?!" Arona said, faking indignation. A collection of gasps from the Lunas echoed in the packed restaurant. Chad held me by the arm because he surely saw I was about to pounce on the lying snake. "That's right, my dear Lunas. While your men were dying for your country, protecting your freedom, the Lockwoods were doing nothing." She cackled. "No wonder they always came back victorious from war. They were never in battle!" Arona looked around the room with a smug smile. Sh

Chad's POV I saw the flicker of fear flashing in Arona's eyes, but she stood her ground to keep her charade going. I was so proud of my Bella. She stood up for her family and was pretty good at it. Bella was fierce and not afraid to put anyone in their rightful place. The fire in her eyes made my blood draw to her. I wanted that fire all to myself. I stared again at the Natbian princess as if she were a petulant child. "That's quite a big mouth you got there, Princess Arona."I spat. She flinched. "I will not allow you to talk like that to my sister, Lycan King!!" Alpha King Hudson protested. "But you fucking allowed her to run her mouth without proof. She insulted my woman and her family. This shit shows it's going to hell. I will give you two hours to leave my country before I retaliate if you don't make her apologize to my Luna or show proof of her accusations!" Hudson was throwing daggers at me. Arona visibly paled. "It is too late, Lycan King! This rumor has spread amon

Bella's POV The Alpha King looks into my eyes as he speaks to me. I could feel Chad's anger building at the blatant audacity of the Natbian King. The Natbian King was extraordinarily attractive. I wondered why he didn't have a mate. "I have a proposition of my own if you want to hear it." Alpha King Hudson says. His gaze lingered on me even when Chad's aura was starting to intensify. "Look at me when you speak, Hudson, because I swear if you keep staring at my woman, you will lose your eyes." Chad Snarls, making Arona scoff. "You both act like she's something special. She's all but damaged goods, rumor has it she's divorced." Arona remarks mockingly. Chad slams his fist on his desk, making me jump. "You're not helping your case, Princess! You should be grateful I have the interests of my country at best and that you're also a woman, but if you had been a man, I would have torn your guts out already to see where you keep them because you sure have some big guts to be insulti

Chad's The first thing I felt was guilt for still not telling her the truth about me and my brother. Then I looked into her eyes, and their uncertainty floored me. She had been betrayed before and must think I could do the same. But the bastard she was with before didn't deserve her. I would never do that to her. She fixed the strap of her dress, making me realize I was still staring at the perfect creamy mound with its pale and so inviting nipple. I kissed her temple and hugged her tight. "That was Abelina... a witch." She gasped. "She works for me as a spy," I added. "But, I thought we were not allied or friendly with the witches?" She grew concerned and curious. "This is a lone witch, and she has worked for my family for generations." Her eyes opened wide, and I chuckled. "Generations? Just how old can she possibly be?" She asked. I shrugged. "No one knows for certain," I replied. "Abelina will make it possible for my spies to leave the country towards North Natbia with

Bella's POV No Goddess!! I'm not ready for this. I felt like my spirit had left my body, and I watched everything from outside. The reporters started shoving microphones in my face and asking a million questions simultaneously. Chad lifted me in his arms and pushed his way through the crowd. "Luna Bella, the forensics say that the body they found is your father's! How do you feel?" "Do you think your brothers' bodies are nearby?!" Another one asks. Chad took the reporter's mic and smashed it on the floor. He snarled at them, making them freeze on their spot. Chad continued carrying me until we entered the private quarters of the Palace. "I want to see him, Chad!" I croaked desperately. He hugged me tightly and kissed the top of my head. I sobbed on his chest. My tears were soaking his shirt, but his strong arms gave me the warmth and strength I needed. "Dane is making all the arrangements as we speak, my love. They will bring him back to you." I sobbed even harder. My heart

Bella's POV I looked at the masked man's eyes, but he averted them. "Can I please see your face?" I asked the man once again. He looked conflicted for a moment, but then he sighed. "Impossible, I wouldn't want to scare you. My face is disfigured, and Princess Arona has strictly instructed me not to show my face around here. I am sorry for not being able to grant you that wish, Luna." My face turned even sadder when suddenly he hugged me, and I hugged him back. He reminds me of my brother Braxten, but it is not him. This man is a Natbian guard. Remembering that, I ended the hug and thanked him for coming. "Luna..." he said. He seemed a little dazed and put his hand on his temple. He was struggling for words. It's fine if you can't reveal your face. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble with Princess Arona," I said gently. He nodded and stepped aside. "Please, take care of yourself, Luna." I saw him leaving, looking a little confused. Arona was waiting for him in the distance wit

Chad's POV Horror overcomes me when Bella tells me my brother had slept with her between his fucking arms. He said it when I saw him tonight, but I refused to believe him. It had never bothered me to share everything with him, but not Bella. Bella is only mine, and the fucking infatuation he feels for her needs to fucking stop. "Bella love. I need you to avoid me during the full moon. I would hate if I suddenly felt the need to mark you. I don't want to hurt you and the baby." I urged, but she pouted. "But I can't sleep without you. Look at me now. I'm awake waiting for you. I need you in my bed." Fuck, why is it so hard to deny her something? "It's only 3 days a month, Ma Belle. Let's do this for the baby." I said. "Those days you slept with your hand on my stomach. You looked happy about the baby." Hendrick thought the baby was mine. "We'll talk about this tomorrow. You need to rest." I said. I took a shower before settling on the bed with her. I tried to mimic the posi

Bella's POV The next day, when I woke up to the sound of the mourning trumpets. I sat up, feeling a void in my chest. Today, my father will be cremated. I looked toward Chad's side of the bed, but he was no longer there. I felt a panic attack building on my chest. My father was dead, my brothers were lost, and Chad wasn't here. I felt alone and abandoned. The sound of the trumpets was a painful and mocking reminder of that. The void feeling on my chest grew, and I felt that I couldn't breathe. I heard Chad's voice from far away and felt like I was falling into a bottomless pit. I couldn't cry, and I couldn't scream. Someone shook me. I opened my eyes and found Chad's beautiful golden ones. "Drink this, you need to drink this, my love. Everything will be alright. I already ordered them to stop." I drank the milk he gave me, but it tasted unpleasant. I felt myself gradually calming down. "The trumpets woke me up, Chad, and I panicked when I didn't see you." I probably looked pa

  • Fated to the Lycan King   Chapter 132

Chad's POV I scrubbed my hands under the harsh stream of water, watching the crimson droplets swirl down the drain, remnants of a tense interrogation fading into nothingness. The North Natbians were attempting to breach our borders, and one of their spies had finally divulged unsettling information. They were on a mission to capture Bella and deliver her to their king, and every one of them carried her picture, a haunting reminder of the stakes at play. Frustration boiled within me, and I slammed my fist against the wall, the sound echoing like thunder in the sterile room. The realization that he could hold Bella hostage, forcing my hand and sealing Kaladia's fate, ignited a fire of desperation in my chest. “Chad, I know you’re trying to protect Bella, but she needs to understand the peril she’s in,” Dane insisted, his expression taut with concern. "I will talk to her," I snapped, my voice rough with guilt. I hated the thought of burdening her with fear. I felt like I was failing
