Alpha Ethan (POV)

Damn it! why wasn't she answering me? I cursed under my breath. I could barely feel the link, what was wrong. The council was closer to Amber's house than I was. I should have brought her to the pack house with me. I should have just gone and got her.

I tried to link Amber, but I couldn’t get through to her either.

When I got to Amber's house, I could see the entourage of black SUVs in front of the house. A council member was restraining Amber on the front lawn of the house as she was crying and trying to break free.

Then I see three men carrying Renee out. She must be sedated because she is laying there almost lifeless, but I would know if she were dead.

My wolf is at the surface "HOW DARE THEY!" I growl getting out of my truck at lighting speed.

"Stop! Alpha Ethan!” a council member yells in my direction

"You have no right!" I growl back

"We have every right; we are the council"

“What have you done to her?”

“We have sedated her, she was too emotional, she m

"Meeting Now!" I blast through the mind link to my advisors and top warriors. Jonathan and Amber get into my truck, and we go back to the pack house. Jonathan mind linked the details on the way back to get everyone up to speed. Time was of the essence. Everyone was already waiting when we got back. My most trusted advisor Bill was already pouring over the laws. Bill was about sixty years old and his once brown hair was mostly grey now, his silver frame glasses were usually so far down his nose, they looked like they might fall off any second. Bill prided himself on his knowledge of pack history and laws. As soon as I walked in, he looked to me and said, "I don't understand how this could have happened, I mean there is no law specifically against it, but it's never been done before, especially not against someone's will." He was shaking his head. " Are you sure she didn't want to go?" "They had to carry her out, drugged, she definitely did not want this!" I growled “she wanted me,

Alpha Ethan (POV) I could pull Joey’s beating heart from his chest, but the rest of what Amber said was like music to my ears. "Ok then. Maybe kidnapping her" I paused "well technically rescuing her is an option." I looked to Bill to get his opinion. "The mate bond should protect you from backlash" Bill said hesitantly "but the council could possibly still punish you since you didn’t actually know you were mates before the quote "crime"". I chewed my lip trying to think"But" Bills voice sounds through the room again " I don't see a way to get her back without the possibility of pissing of the council, I think this is the best option to get our Luna back." When he called her my Luna I couldn't help but smile. My Luna, I am coming for you. "Ok we need a strategy. I don't know much about the Grey Lake Pack’s land, as it isn’t a neighboring pack there never was a reason for me to study it and it's over eight hours away." I couldn't barge in killing everyone that challenged me that w

Renee’s POV I was almost asleep in my room when I heard Amber's voice ring out downstairs. "Why are you here? What is the meaning of this? Answer me!!" She sounded startled and was almost pleading for answers. I heard several people coming up the stairs."What's happening?" I link Amber startled "The Elder Council, they say they are here for you." She cries in my head "Get out, they are coming" I tried to move quickly out the window. But I still wasn't fully healed, and they were too fast. I no sooner got to the window and got it open when three men barged into my room and shot something into my back. I cried out whimpering. I tried to link Ethan, then Amber but nothing would go out. What the hell was that. Why did the Elder Council want me? My head started to spin and before I knew it, I felt my body slumping weak into the floor. I saw the men coming forward to take me. I couldn't hardly move."Ethan, I want to see Ethan" the words barely left my lips, but the men paid them no

Ethan's POV With everyone having taken part in the blood pact their lips were now sealed unless I gave my permission to speak of these secrets. I turn my eye back to Bill waiting for the additional information. He senses my stare and takes the hint. "The Vander’s were said to be some of the last vampire Hybrids." He says cautiously, not sure how I will process this information. Vampire hybrids, we had all heard of, but they were basically extinct. The only way to make one would be for an almost pure vampire and werewolf to mate. Something like that hasn't happened in a very long time. They say the hybrids don't dilute though and it's said the gifts don't weaken either when passed down the line. The males that inherited the genes would never receive any gifts it would lie dormant in their systems but females on the other hand could possibly have additional powers. "All hybrids will have superior speed, healing ability, and strength." Bill continued "If females have additional gif

Renee's POVTo my surprise Joey pulled his own wrist to his mouth and bites it. Then offers it to me. I pull back from it, only for him to force it to my mouth. "You will pledge your life to me" he says through gritted teeth. No way in hell am I pledging my life to this jerk. I sling my body back; Joey doesn't break his hold as I cause us to fall over. My back is now pressed to the bottom of the seat and Joey is half laying on top of me with his wrist still pushed to my mouth. "If you wanted to get more comfortable, you just had to ask" he laughs as he rakes his eyes over my body. My face was wrinkled in anger, I tried to turn my head away from his wrist. But he was holding my head with his other hand. I could feel his nasty blood trickling past my lips no matter how much I tried to seal them closed. The blood started filling my mouth as I refused to swallow it. He finally pulled his wrist back away from my mouth and looked at me expectantly, I imagine he was waiting for me to say

Alpha Ethan (POV)"Are we ever going to get there?" I whined from the passenger seat like a child. Amber and Jonathan decided that since I wasn't in the best emotional state, Jonathan should drive. "I didn't know you were going to drive like a grandma!" I growl at Jonathan "I should have never let you drive." He didn’t respond in any way, just kept his eyes on the road. I couldn’t really blame him though; I was acting like a bratty child and even though I knew that I couldn't help myself either. If I tried to be quiet and patient thoughts of Renee would invade my mind. Which just made me want to get to her even more. It was now close to nine o’ clock and the sun was dipping down. "You do realize we can't go in tonight, right?" Amber voice rings through the car. "Yes, you have already made it abundantly clear." I huff Apparently, at night alarm systems were put into place in the pack house that would make it impossible to get through undetected. Plus, you were more likely to ru

  • Fated to be Luna   Chapter 33

Renee's POV I awoke on the floor of the cell. It was now dark outside as there was no light coming through the small, barred windows of the basement. "Ugh" I groaned my whole body hurt, and my face felt smushed from laying on it. My hand went to the back of my head I could feel the dried blood in my hair but at least it felt like my head wound had closed. I peeled my face of the floor where it had been stuck in congealed blood. Then I pushed my body off the floor until I was in a sitting position. The lights were still on in the basement, and I could see a total of five cells, but all the other ones were empty. The change of position caused my head to start spinning. I brought my hands to either side of my head holding it up hoping to stop the dizzy spell. On the plus side the silver handcuffs were no longer on my wrists, I guess they removed them while I was unconscious. "Yes, I have her here." I hear Joey's voice echo from the hall outside of the cell room. I crawl closer to try

Renee’s (POV)I decided to try to drive it home that we were NEVER going to happen. "You know I really don't think I'm going to develop Stockholm syndrome, so I don't know why you are smiling like that." I said through gritted teeth. "Do you have any idea what all I have done for you!" He yells back"No! Because I don't really count kidnapping and imprisoning me as doing something for me!" I yell back. "You have no idea! I have been talking with council members long before you even left to figure out how to get rid of the mate mark. Then you had to interrupt my plans by running away from me, and I'll have you know that broke my heart!" He yelled back then continued while he started pacing in front of me. "Then a few days after you left, I finally found the answer. The Elder Council can remove a chosen mate mark if the other mate has committed a bad enough crime." My eyes widened at where this was going. He was truly insane. "So, I was planning to frame Kristi." He starts laughing

Epilogue Esther’s Point of ViewIt has been one year since the battle for Renee’s life. After what happened I couldn’t bring myself to leave Southern Illinois. So much has happened and so much has changed. I almost didn’t get to the wand in time, and I guess for Victor I didn’t. He would have made a great great great honestly I’m not sure how many greats grandfather to little Vickie but he sacrificed himself to save Alpha Ethan. When I removed immortality on Earth all the vampires returned to human and as far as I can tell I’m also aging again. Ethan and Renee opened the pack grounds to any once vampires that wished to stay and adjust to being human once again. Some staid while many others rushed back home as quickly as they could. Dimitri and myself decided to stay and I’m for the first time in my life truly happy. I have a little baby bump of my own now and I can’t express how excited I am to be a mother after all these years. Renee has blossomed in her roll as Luna and the pa

  • Fated to be Luna   Chapter 83

Renee’s Point of View The first wave was a horrible mess as the untrained vampires rushed forward their mouths practically unhinging as they tried to bite whatever they could. They were a chaotic mess, but thankfully we were prepared for just that, we fell back several paces to give the illusion that we were struggling. By the time it was over there were only minor injuries to report. The next wave however came rushing forward like a tidal wave. We had no sooner finished off the first wave before they were on us they were better trained and much more difficult to hold off. “Come on Esther, what is taking so long?” I questioned under my breath. We were trying to wait as long as possible before using the flood lights as it would inevitably kill many of the vampires and if Esther succeeded they would all be saved from that fate. Unfortunately we couldn’t wait any longer and Ethan had no choice but to issue the order. The screams that echoed will forever haunt my mind. As they evapor

Esther’s point of view Once I reached the location where I had hid the wand all those years ago, I was really wishing I hadn’t put a spell on it blocking it from magical recovery. There were mere minutes before the sun would set on Renee’s pack territory and I was looking at a research center sitting on top of the site where I hid the wand. I couldn’t believe my eyes out of all the places, here is where they placed their stupid huts. I knew the wand was still here I could sense it’s energy. I just had to figure out how to move the research pod that was sitting on top of it. “Damn it, I don’t have time for this I muttered under my breath” as I tried to think of the best course of action. I ran up to the window of the pod to take a peek. I could see at least three people inside. I decided things would be easier if they were unconscious so I cast a spell as watched as they all passed out. I ran back from the building a lifted my hands bringing the pod up a couple inches and scooting

Luna Renee’s Point of View As I stood waiting for whatever hell was about to be released I tried to run everything Dimitri had said about Vampire tactics through my mind. The vampires including my father couldn’t fight with us here with the uv flood lights that we had in store for the vampires, but they all did their best to prepare us and help us train. The Vampires on our side planned to circle around behind the lines to help us without being in our strong hold. Dimitri said they would send their least experienced soldiers first, it would test our strength and cause chaos. They instructed that it would be best to try to fight them off without revealing any of the traps we had set. They said we would be able to handle the first wave easily but to make it appear like it was hard giving a false sense of security to the next wave. This wave would be much better trained. This is where we could start using our traps and me to fight back. The hope was the second wave would rush forward th

  • Fated to be Luna   Chapter 80

*Esther’s POV I had been trudging through snow for over a day and a half now, I was frozen to the core and really wishing I picked out a warmer location to hide the wand of destiny. To make matters worse there was a snow storm blowing in and I had less than an hour to get the wand and cast a spell to remove immortality from Earth, before the Vampire would most likely be attacking Renee’s pack. Luckily the plane ride, boat ride, and dog sled ride here had given me plenty of time to work on the wording for the spell. I wanted to make sure there weren’t any loop holes. I only had 5 more miles to go but they wouldn’t be easy. I hid the wand in the most remote place in the world I could think of somewhere that no one should ever be able to find it. However that made getting there near impossible, if it wasn’t for having magic I never would have made it this far. To occupy my brain I just kept repeating the spell over and over in my head. “To the God above grant me this, remove immoral

Esther’s point of view“Can I talk to you a minute, alone?” Dimitri questioned looking at me. “Yes” I answered standing up to walk into the hall with him. When we reached the hallway and closed the door behind us Dimitri turned to me and asked “can we be overheard?” “No” I answered “Ok good, then let me ask what in the hell are you thinking, we are talking about Renee here, we are talking about the end of the world!” He yelled “and what your plan is to just sit by and watch it happen?” “You know I made a promise.” I answered “Sometimes promises have to be broken, and I would say this is definitely one of those times.” “I guess you are right.” I answered reluctantly. “How long will it take you to get to the wand?” Dimitri asked. “At the very least three days.” I answered “but even if I get the wand I’m not sure how to fix everything.” “What do you mean?” Dimitri questioned “can’t you just make it where the angels can’t possess Renee and her children.” “Well sure that will ta

Esther’s Point of View“Many, many years ago I was apart of a secret group called the Seven we were tasked with protecting valuable, powerful and dangerous artifacts. Such as the ark of the covenant to name one.” I sighed before taking a big breath “but ultimately we failed when a fallen angel tracked us and attacked us with the goal of taking over the world. His plan was to make two new species each modeled after his daughters personalities to be his army on earth, Using the power he gained from the artifacts especially one from Jesus’s lost years which is a powerful wand. I was afraid if their eyes widened anymore they would pop from their sockets as I told my tale. So this fallen Angel made his new species using other members of the Seven my family and from my family he created Vampires and Werewolves representing each of his half human daughter’s. But before he could use his new species to create and army I was able to recover the wand, using it myself to stop him. I basically

Esther’s point of view Silas didn’t have time to answer as I noticed Renee coming to in my arms.“Renee! Renee? Can you hear me?” Yes, why are you talking so loud.” She answered with an annoyed voice, bringing her fingers to her temples. “Oh thank goodness!” I said pulling her closer to me. “You mean thank Goddess don’t you, seeing as I’m part Goddess.” Renee rambled with her eyes still closed as she rubbed her temples. “What?” I questioned confused, truth serum doesn’t make you high. What was Renee talking about? “Yep I’m the daughter of the moon goddess, and she needs my baby to keep everyone safe.” Blood rushed to my head and I felt lightheaded, my past flashing in front of me as I realized what was actually at stake. “What is she talking about?” Silas questioned. “This can’t be possible” I mumbled under my breath, trying to piece everything together. Why would the “Moon Goddess” impart her DNA in Renee and why was Renee’s baby important to her plan. In that moment Ethan a

Esther’s point of viewWhen I saw Renee pass out I acted quickly and was able to catch her before her body crinkled onto the ground. A “No” echoed in the field around us and I scanned the area trying to find the source. “Who goes there?” I shouted scanning the area once more. I sent an alert in my head to Alpha Ethan not knowing if there was a threat or what has caused Renee to pass out. “It’s just me” a familiar voice filled the air and I turned to the source. I could see Silas stepping out from behind a tree. “Silas?” I questioned confused. I couldn’t help but notice he didn’t seem to have his mandatory escort with him. “I’m sorry Esther it wasn’t meant for her” he stated cautiously stepping forward. “What do you mean?” I questioned still confused, then I saw his eyes flash down to Renee “what have you done?” I questioned anger and fear coursing through my body. “The water was meant for you” he stated Once again I was confused until I looked down and saw the water I had given
