Hospitals in particular had so many bad memories associated with them for me, that I despised every second of the pristine white walls surrounding me right now. The air of sadness and grief that lingered in my cabin had been getting denser with every other person that came to visit me.

I wanted to run away. The look of worry sadness and fear that had been cast onto their face behind a reassuring smile had been more painful to me than the fever that had been gripping me.
