‘He must have been, you can’t underestimate him,’ Xara muttered in my head, standing on alert ready to be of use whenever needed.

Breaking through the surface of water the five again tried to swim to the shore but like every effort they had made before they were once again been sent into the depths of the water. At this rate they would soon get tired and then lose their strength to even try to come up automatically resulting in death.

His knowledge of the dagger had shaken me a little and it had left me with no footing to base my next attack on him.

“Ephialtes, this has always supposed to be a one on one fight,” I said staring at the mass of blackness that was gurgling and rising with the fear that the poor wolves emanated, “Let them go!”

“You shouldn’t have brought them with you to begin with,” he said pausing a second to let them breathe as the huffed and coughed at the water that must have entered into their lungs.
