Chapter One Hundred and Eighty Two

Theseus’s POV

I wish they didn’t want to go. I wish I could keep them where in this guilted cage of a house where I can protect them but I cannot.

I move through the house and I decide to visit Lilith.

I find her staring down at her young, love and awe in her eyes at how miraculously beautiful the small child is.

I agreed her child is beautiful. Much as she was.

But they don’t stay babies and the world tars them.

Look at Lilith.

My more child has been through more than her fair share of sadness.

And I’m to blame.

I didn’t stick up for her, I didn’t try to make Celeste see the wrongs we were choosing.

I have realised that I can do that now, that I have grown and educated myself on the sadness of the world and our choices as beings within it.

But Lilith is an adult now.

I want to demand she stay. That they all do.

I’ll be able to protect them, give them a place of solace.

A home they can be happy in.

But I can feel it from the three of them that they want to leave.

They want to go home
