CHAPTER 89

WHIP! WHIP! WHIP!

That was the sound that came from the horse whip that was used in beating Bruno. He held the pain in for some time but couldn't hold it anymore on the fiftieth time. He bursted into tears and let out a loud cry, each time the guards landed the whip on his back.

During all these events and happenings, the King was nowhere to be found.

No doubt he attended the meeting, but he didn't show up in the present state of emergency and chaos that the palace he governed was in.

Bruno prayed silently for the King to come out from wherever he was to save him, but it felt as if the immortals turned a deaf ear to all of his prayers.

He couldn't believe that he would end up this way. He would try to escape and live then fight another day, perhaps.
