Camille POV
"This is Camille," I whispered to myself as I walked into AX gallery that morning. After contemplating whether I should take the offer or not, I concluded. I was going to take the job offer for the sake of the orphanage and for my parent who abandoned me there.
"Hello," I greeted the receptionist, a white woman who looked like she was in her fifties. The freckles on her face were visible and her grey hair was brushed to the back giving her an older look.
"What do you want?" Her tone was cold and when she adjusted her glasses, it's made me shiver.
"I have an appointment with Axel," I informed her.
"Axel? You don't even have respect for our boss!" She shouted and I flinched.
"Miss," I stared at her name tag. "Miss Emily. I am here to see Axel Banks."
"You have an appointment with him?" She asked and I nodded in response.
Was she deaf when I talked about an appointment with her? "I already
Camille POVI woke up to a splitting headache. My body felt numb but I struggled to raise my hand and it's worked. "Alina," I mumbled and I held the pillow as if my life depended on it. "Alina," I mumbled again.I sniffed the air and the amazing smell of Jasmine infiltrated my nostrils. I remembered that Alina and I never had that smell in our home.Where was I? I thought and tossed it on the bed. My hand hit another pillow. I remembered only having one pillow. When did I get a second pillow? I thought."You must be having a nice sleep but I know you are awake Camille," That's the voice... Husky but cool.My eyes fluttered open and I screamed out loud when I saw Axel's handsome face staring back at me."Oh my God!" I yelled and turned to the other side. I landed on the ground and hit my hand on the lampstand. "Ouch!" I groaned out in pain."Easy there," Axel rushed to my side and helped
Camille POV" Hell no Camille, you can go to work dressed like that!" Alina yelled at me and yanked the blue gown I held in my hand. it was a bodycon dress I bought when I graduated from Art School. it was the perfect dress I could think of for my first day at an AX gallery but Alina was against the idea." you don't look professional enough in that dress. you need to look like you have come to work!" she shouted at me." What is wrong with the blue dress?" I asked." Everything is wrong about the dress. It looks like you are going to a disco party."she lied. The dress doesn't look like a disco outfit. it was a short bodycon dress that reached below my knees. it was a lovely dress that could be worn to an office but my annoying roommate was against the idea." that's a lie," I argued but she shushed me and rummaged My Closet." This is a perfect outfit," Alina dropped a long
Axel POVHer face was everywhere. I couldn't stop thinking about her every damn minute. I wanted her close to me and never leave my side. my wolf cried every second in my head longing for its mate and craving for her attention.when we entered the Elevator together, I wanted to slam her back on the doors and kissed her until she was out of breathe but even if I wanted to, I couldn't.I couldn't because of her. That's her is Kourtney, my first love and the one I had thought I would spend my life with. It's was all because of the damn curse. I lost her forever because of my fate. And now that she had reincarnated as Camille, I couldn't be with her because it would put her at risk of death.I'm a man of many enemies and once they found out that I had found my mate, they would find Camille and killed her. Trust me, it's hurt so much to see the face of my previous lover and not be able to get close to her because I feared that she
Camille POVHave You Ever Felt something for someone and then you find out that that one person you like wants someone else? That's exactly how I felt when I saw Penelope and Axel. I didn't know why I was drawn to Axel. The feelings were hard to explain and it was strong enough to let the tears roll down my face.It was the first time I was attracted to a man. I admit that I have crushes on celebrities but I never had any boyfriend. The attraction was strong and I thought I could go crazy if I don't confess my feelings to him.Why do I have to fall for someone like him? I thought as I walked into my new office. "Hey," Remi walked towards me and touched me on the shoulder. "Did you see the boss?" He asked.I looked at him and shook my head. He seemed to understand that I wasn't in the mood to talk as he asked no further questions and I walked into my new studio with my head lowered. I sat down in one corner of the studio and b
"Aaah Choo," I sneezed for the umpteenth time that morning. After the rain incident with Axel a day before, I had been sneezing nonstop. My throat was sore making it hard to talk for too long. My runny nose made me sniffle every few seconds. It's was as if the world was against me.It's was all because of Axel."That's the hundredth time you've sneezed today," Alina pointed out. " you sure you can go to work today? Tell your boss that's you are sick!" She shouted."I am fine," I coughed."You are fine? Girl, you are sick. Your eyes are red and you won't stop sneezing!" She sounded like the mother I never had."I've taken pain relievers this morning. I'll be fine," I told her and grabbed my brown bag from my bed. "I'm all done." I adjusted my blue chiffon top and sniffled."You are so adamant and you wouldn't listen even if I try to convince you to stay at home!" Alina touched my shoulders and squeezed them
Camille POVI woke up with a start and blinked when I realized that everywhere was pitch black. I had no idea where I was but I knew that I was on a soft bed that made me want to close my eyes and sleep again. My bed wasn't as soft as that and then I realized that I was in someone else's house."Hello, who is here?" I shouted and tried to climb out of the bed but my hand made contact with a lampstand close to the bed. It's fell to the ground making a loud cracking noise.Oh no, why didn't I shout for help instead of breaking other people's stuff?I gasped and made the mistake of standing up. Some of the cracks from the lampstand pierced my foot and I screamed out loud as if I was attacked by someone.I heard the door open and loud footsteps headed towards me. The light came on and I screamed out loud thinking that someone had come to attack me. "Cam down Camille. It's just me," Axel's deep voice sou
Axel POV"I think I'm fallen in love with you." it's sounded exactly like Kourtney had said in the past. She had confessed she loved me and because of that, she had to die."Ain't you going to say anything?" Camille asked.I cleared my throat and heaved a deep sigh. "I......" I stuttered as I couldn't find the right word to say. I was torn between telling her no or saying yes and kissing her until we were out of breath."If you don't want me. You can just say no. There is no need to drag this for long.""It's not that I don't want you, " I sat on the bed. "I can't be with you," I confessed because it's was the truth. I wanted her so bad that I hoped she could wake up in my arms every morning for eternity but wanting that would only lead to her demise. The curse wasn't just about immortality. It's was about causing death to the people around me including my mate. I had thought Kourtney wouldn't die from the curse
Camille POV"Whatever happens tonight, I don't want you to hate me," Axel said as we got to the front of my house."Nothing happened tonight sir, I only made a fool out of myself," I told him and came out of the car.I opened the apartment with my key cause I didn't want to wake Alina from her beauty sleep. She'll probably murder me for trying to do that. I walked into the apartment and locked the door. I leaned against the door and thought about what happened with Axel tonight.I shouldn't have confessed how I felt to him. Now, he would think that I was obsessed with him. "I made a fool out of myself," I heaved a sigh and headed into my bedroom.I hopped on the bed and stared at the ceiling. "I've gone crazy," I thought as the images of Axel played in my head. I muffled a scream and punched my pillow. "Why can't I get him off my head," I muttered to myself. After tossing on my bed for two hours, sleep finally f
Camille POVWhen we arrived at the village, it's was already night and as Axel and myself walked past the tent, we couldn't heard a pin drop and just like the story Amara had told us, the Witches clan had gathered around a fire to end the Lycan's life. As we walked forward into the village, I noticed a fire few distances away from us and using the moon as a source of light, I strained my eyes and saw the shadows of heads. I nudged Axel on the shoulder when the light was placed near the Lycan's face. Just like Amara had told us, she was Axel's aunt and someone walked around her chanting in foreign language we couldn't understood. "Let's go," I nudged Axel on the shoulder and moved forward but he grabbed my hand and pulled me backwards. "what is wrong?" I muttered. "We can't just barge into their meeting," he responded and pointed to different heads. " There are a lot of them," he started counting using the moon but our cover got blew up when someone appeared behind us. "Why are you
Axel POVCamille groaned again and threw her hands up as we found ourselves behind a spring of water. After leaving the Lycan's pack, we searched for a way to the witch's clan but found none as we kept looking around, but we always ended up beside a spring of water. "This is the third time," Camille scoffed and sat on the ground. "We keep ending up in the same place!" She complained and heaved a sigh. "We have to find a way to get out of here, Axel!" I heaved a sigh and sat beside her. "If we don't save my uncle's wife, everything will be for nothing, and we won't be able to break the curse," I laid on the ground and stared at the blue skies. The sun was starting to set, and it was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen in my entire life. As we stared at the sun, my mind drifted off to when Kourtney and I used to stare at the sun. I smiled at the thought of it and blinked a tear away. Camille saw the tears in my eyes and stared at me suspiciously."Are you okay?" She asked, a
Camille POVHere I am sitting on a metal chair around a table with Axel and his family. His father, mother, uncles, and some of the rest of the pack stared in awe at him as he told them the story of what could happen if they chose to ignore his warnings. He had warned them against wandering into the Witches' land in order to avoid the war. "This war made thousands of years of my life unbearable!" Axel explained it to them. "Killing each other won't solve the problems. We just have to embrace each other and end this war that could eat us all up! " instead of listening to him, one of the Lycans stood up and slammed his hand on the metal table, which caused me to shake in fright. "I told you not to believe them, Alpha. They are sent by the witches' clans to destroy us all! You'll be a fool if you allow them to put fear inside of you! " The man shouted at Axel. Axel called him by his given name as he stared at Axel. in shock. His eyes widened, but he quickly changed his facial expressi
I groaned out in pain when I felt a heavy weight on me. Someone kicked the heavy weight off of me and I heaved a sigh of relief. I got kicked with something hard that seemed like a stick. I whimpered in pain as the stick made contact with my ass. "Who the hell is..." My eyes fluttered open and I screamed out loud when I saw three giant men standing above me. They looked tall, like the skyscrapers back in the city. That's an exaggeration, but it was how I could describe them. I looked beside me and saw a familiar face. Axel was sleeping comfortably, like all his problems had been solved. "Axel!" I shouted his name and slapped him on the face. He groaned out in pain and fluttered his eyes open. "Camille, why did you have to slap me?" he yelled at me, but he lowered his voice when I pointed up. Axel cleared his throat and looked up. When his eyes met one of the giant men, he exclaimed and jumped to his feet. "Zach!"Axel laughed and hugged the giant man. "You know him?" I rose up from t
Axel POVI yelled as the ground shook terribly again. This time, Camille pushed me and we both fell to the ground. "I've said enough!" Amara shouted and grabbed the staff from Amara. As the staff made contact with Amara's hand, it disappeared in the blink of an eye. "You both are physcopaths!" I shouted as Camille and I stood up. "I can't believe that you two had to decide my destiny!" I yelled. I felt sorry for myself for dealing with devils like the twins. Because of them, I was fated to dooom. My destiny was decided and I lost the woman I loved. "You two are crazy!""No, she is the crazy one!" Amara and Samara said it at the same time. I facepalmed and turned to look at Camille, who had her eyes fixed on mine. "Are you okay?" She questionedI heaved a sigh and shook my head. I wasn't fine and I was never going to be until I got rid of the curse. "How do I break the curse?" I asked the twinsThey exchanged looks and then started laughing. "The curse is easy to break," Samara answ
Camille POVI smiled as Axel stirred up and his eyes fluttered open. I grabbed his hand and placed it on my cheek, then I smiled. "Axel," I whispered, his name. He groaned and rose from the bed. "Why are you crying?" He asked as he noticed the tears on my face. I wiped it away and chuckled. "nothing," I forced myself to smile. "Camille," he said, raising my chin. "You can tell me anything," he said. "You were attacked by a bear, and I thought that I'd lost you. Amara wouldn't help you, and you were bleeding so badly... I burst into tears. "I thought I had lost you."Axel heaved a sigh and pulled me closer to him. He placed my head on his chest and rubbed my back. "It's okay, nothing happened to me," he assured me. "Never do that again," I shouted at him. "An attack by a bear is nothing. It's because my powers are restricted in this place. It's why I couldn't fight against that bear," he said. "Stop that!" I shouted and punched his shoulders. "Don't say things like that," I sni
AxelIt feels familiar. The serenity made me remember the past when I had been the only Lycan alive, ruling over the werewolves. Camille and I walked through the woods, searching for a route that could lead us to the Village of the Witches, where we could find Amara Kitias and put an end to my curse. "You have any idea where we are heading to?" Camille whined for the umpteenth time and sniffed the tiger hide skin she wore. "This smells like shit and I can't wait to get rid of it!" She shifted the gown on her body. "Why are you whining when your whole body is covered?" I asked and pointed to my own body. I was half naked, wearing nothing but an abandoned shirt I found beside the water. "If we can find Amara, then she might be able to help and find a dress for us to wear," I told her, but she rolled her eyes in annoyance. "The clothes you all wore in the past are annoying!" Camille hissed. I grabbed her hand, but she slapped it away. "Believe me when I say people in the past had clot
Camille POV "How was Marcel's pack?" I questioned Alina as we both sat on the couch in Axel's living room while the men arranged the paintings and discussed them amongst themselves. Today was the day Axel and I decided to go back to the past to find answers to his curse. A day after Axel and I finished painting, Alina and Marcel returned with the witch from Marcel's pack. Ever since they returned, I noticed that they rarely talked, and even when Marcel tried to start a conversation with Alina, he got ignored by her. When we finally had the chance to talk, I decided to ask her the reason for their silent treatment. "Pack!" Alina frowned and folded her arms together. "They don't love or even want me." Alina heaved a sigh and stared at the witch that was invited by Marcel. "That witch predicted that our union would bring bad luck to the pack," Alina said, pointing to the redheaded woman who was deep in conversation with Penelope in the dining hall. "The funniest part is that a woman h
Camille's POV"So we have to paint a picture of the past?" I asked Axel as I entered his car and sat beside him in the front. I had asked of Alina and Marcel, and I was informed by Axel that they had gone to Marcel's pack to bring the witch who would help with the ritual. I was glad for the two of them because they had realized their feelings for one another, and Alina was finally coming out of her shell of never falling in love with any man ever again. "What kind of painting?" I asked Axel as he started the car and drove out of the garage. Axel didn't reply and fixed his eyes on the road. "Axel!" I shouted his name again. He turned to face me with a smile on his face. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. Painting is easy, Camille. "We just have to find the perfect drawing for going to the past, and although I haven't picked a brush in years, I am still a great painter," he boasted and winked at me. I chuckled and nodded in response. The rest of the drive to AX gallery was in silence
