Kyle's POV...

Grinning to myself at how silly Aria was, denying how much I make her feel to my face, I tried to act oblivious to the fact that she enjoys my company as much as I do; she did awful at faking her feelings. To avoid tramping on her ego, I made it seem like her denial got to me. Instead, it only made me feel more attached to her. My dick still jolts in excitement at the thought of meeting with her again tonight.

I chuckled to myself, wondering what had gotten over me. I am beginning to act lovesick. I can't seem to resist having her in my arms every night. Our meetings might get extended to every day of the week. My thoughts faded with the wind when the door opened abruptly, and a dead-faced-looking Barrin walked in.

His face only looks blank like that when he is pissed at me; I sat up, holding his gaze. "What's wrong, babe? Why are you looking so livid?"

He exhaled, throwing his head to the back. Whatever was bothering him, Barrin was trying

Aria's POV...My confidence went with the wind at Kyle's violent shove; the wolf inside me, which belongs to Breona, was in utmost despair at the second rejection. Both Barrin and Kyle have turned their back on their wolf. What I don't seem to understand is what came over him all of a sudden. We were fine some hours ago, and I was excited to be with him. The look in his eyes broke my heart to pieces.Swallowing hard, I dragged myself off the floor. Something tumbled inside of me. It felt like my intestines were struggling against each other. I managed to get myself to my room, but the pain became more intense. It felt like I might pass out; after what felt like forever and sweat broke out on my forehead, relief came. I leaned against the door, shaking from its effect; whatever it is, I hope it doesn't happen again.I got up and headed to the bathroom as it suddenly felt really hot; I didn't make it to the bathtub when my legs gave way, and I fell to the ground h

Kyle's POV...The gin didn't seem to do much to my body as it trailed down my throat. My head was spinning, and it felt like I was losing my mind. I have been trying so hard to get myself together since Barrin walked out on me. My wolf seemed to be in a sour mood as it didn't yield to my command to shift. I wanted to punch something so bad. It's almost like I could taste Barrin's sad state of mind.He wouldn't answer my call or respond to my texts. I try hard to blame Aria, but I know it's all my fault and nothing else. She clearly wasn't in support of us meeting more than twice a week. But my selfish self just couldn't stop reminiscing on how much pleasure I got from her. Her body's warmth and moans sound like music to my ears. Despite my sour mood, my dick still had the nerve to get excited.I jolted out of my thoughts when the door opened up abruptly. I was a bit taken aback at the pale sight of Aria. But that wasn't the scary part of her; it was the dead emo

Aria's POV...My emotion was everywhere. I didn't know exactly how to feel about losing my unborn child or the glaring truth that I would always have to pick my pieces myself. There was no need for me to get carried away with anything or anyone. I had left Kyle's study feeling victorious at the sad look in his eyes. But I think it was all about me in the end; it won't take him long to move on from the pain. And from the look of things, we will never get close to each other again. Knowing Kyle, Barrin will always come first before any other person.Raven had left a note for me by the time I returned to the room. It was a sweet gesture, scribbling down her concerns hurriedly on the paper while pleading with me to take some rest. I had curled up in bed, crying my eyes out. And when morning came, I could feel it deep within me that something had changed.I decided never to let anyone toss me around again for the umpteenth time. I always seem to forget the pro

Kyle's POV...My eyes fluttered, adjusting to the bright morning sun through the window. I sat up, rubbing my eyes; the room looked unfamiliar. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was. Memories of yesterday flashed in my head. I had reconciled with Barrin and got drunk to my heart's content before falling asleep. It felt odd, though; I have never slept outside the packhouse for personal reasons. It always has to do with the pack's progress. An ache danced in my head as I pulled the duvet off me. The other side of the bed was dead cold. Barrin must have gotten up quite early. I made my way downstairs and found him sitting in the kitchen, stirring his coffee. The other house members bowed hurriedly to me and scampered off. Sometimes I really don't like how the pack members look scared when they come across me. I want to believe I am quite the lenient type of Alpha. But then, what do I know? Seeing we were alone, I wrapped my arms around the love of my life, i

Aria's POV..."You shouldn't be here." Raven attacked me the moment I stood in front of her on the training field.I shrugged nonchalantly, "why not?""You still look a bit pale." She replied."Now, pale is a good thing. As long as I don't look like someone who would pass out if pushed, then it's fine by me.""Why are you so hellbent on pushing yourself this hard?""It's the only thing I have to hold on to right now. Nothing else.""Is there any way I can help?""Yes, by being a good sparring partner. Because I am not going to take it easy on you." I told her with a wide grin."We will see about that. Bring your game on." She chuckled.I sat next to her, inhaling the morning air; there was no way I would have remained in that room and not lost my sanity. Resting for five days straight should be enough to heal from whatever had me on the hook. Just as I promised myself, I have avoided seeing Kyle and his lover Barrin. With Ella's he

Kyle's POV...Barrin had his head on my leg as we sat on the couch in the study room, listening to each other's breath. I caressed his hair, humming to myself. We have been spending more time with each other, but it doesn't feel the same. Although it's our own way of healing and forgiving ourselves, I am just glad that Barrin is no longer pissed at me.It's been over a week since Aria was discharged from the hospital. I also haven't seen her since then; it's almost as if she doesn't live in the packhouse anymore. But I know she is still very much around due to her scent. On the other hand, she keeps her promise of staying away as much as she can. Not that it bothers me, I don't know why I keep thinking about her."I think it's time," Barrin said out of nowhere, bringing me out of my reverie.I blinked, clearing my throat. "time for what?"He sat up, holding my gaze. "We should talk to Aria now about our decision on her carrying your child. Prolonging it wi

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 59

Aria's POV...Kyle ought to rot in whatever place that gorges out people's souls. He has no conscience and thinks he is better than everyone else. From the look of things, Barrin is a better person than he is. He dared to look me in the eyes like he did nothing wrong. Rage enveloped me as I trumped the entire room. Fate sure doesn't have much like for me, considering how it has me subdued to manipulative people like Kyle.My fickle mind still can't seem to forget how good his dick was, and I end up touching myself and moaning out his name till I reach orgasm. It's a shameful trait, but I won't deny enjoying it. If only things were not this complicated. Probably, the truth that lies here is that Kyle isn't good for me, and I needed to learn that here and now. Still, it's so annoying.Groaning, I threw myself into the bed before standing up hurriedly again. I remember now that Ella hasn't been active lately like she is having a bad time. Checking the time, I still have some hours to spa

Aria's POV..."Noel!""Noel!"I screamed at the top of my lungs to just hear her respond to me, but nothing came. And just like she showed up, she faded right before me. My eyes flashed open, and I was panting heavily. Devon was next to me, patting my back."What happened?" He asked.I huffed, "I saw her. I just saw my wolf, but she didn't respond to me. I saw her." I wailed, feeling the tears roll down my face uncontrollably. It's been so long since I felt so close to her that I almost didn't realize how much she was a part of me. That was part of my being, and it has been lost for so long."Calm down, Aria. You don't have to pressure yourself just yet. I called you here not because I expect you to connect to your wolf today. Try to understand that you are just beginning to get your wolf and body back due to the rejections. But it won't come easy like that. Since you saw her, it means she is almost reaching her full potential within you. We should be e

Author's POV...Three Months LaterAria laughed loudly as she chewed on the cutout apple she picked from the plate in front of her. Ella had chosen to be the clown in place of Raven as she gave them a detailed report on how her wedding night had been."He acted like he had never seen me before. I had the best of moments." She sighed dreamily.Raven scoffed, resting on her elbows. "You act like you won't be returning home to him.""You are just jealous." Ella let out a tongue at her.Shaking her head, Aria sat up, adjusting the pillow attached to the chair to help ease her back. Things have been blissful since she and Kyle chose to resolve their issues by letting the past go and focusing on their future, including their unborn child. Her hand rubbed on her growing bump; she had never felt this much happiness in her lifetime. Barrin's death had taken a toll on them, but they have been able to get through it together. She has finally settled into her duty as the Luna, especially now that

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 110

Kyle's POV...My ears kept ringing consistently as the words of the doctor resonated. Aria is pregnant; she is carrying my child. I couldn't let my emotions get in the way of my plans for the Prowler's pack. All through the march towards the doomed pack with our armour and war trucks, even when we met with the hundreds of soldiers from other packs, I didn't know how I was supposed to feel. Either elated or deflated. The moment we got to the border of the Prowler's pack, grenades were thrown in to keep them off guard. Thousands of soldiers charged into the pack like we were at a real war. I had almost doubted the other packs would keep to their promise, but they showed up, proving they were wolves of honour. Some soldiers shifted and went into the woods to catch anyone who might try to escape from there. Some of my soldiers and a few others from the various pack had entered from the east side to attack the packhouse. I had instructed the men to wait for me to get rid of the Alpha befor

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 109

Kyle's POVMy heart pounded as I made my way to the large meeting room. Ever since Barrin got buried, I have been working hard and gathering my soldiers to launch an attack on the Prowler's pack. I do not care about what would become of me after the fight. One thing I know for sure is they would burn to ashes, and my revenge will be taken. I haven't been able to sleep or eat well for days; my treacherous heart and wolf keep yearning for Aria. I am supposed to hate her; it's because of her Barrin is dead. Most importantly, she is one of the enemies. I shouldn't forget that.I stood in front of the door; the guards had their eyes on me, expecting me to give the go-ahead for the door to be opened. I exhaled sharply, nodding for them to open the large door. I gasped softly at the fullness of the room. All of the Alphas I met with at the conference a few days back, except, of course, Anthony of the Prowler's pack and Wade of the Night Walker's pack, were all seated. Their eyes keenly watch

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 108

    Aria's POV...It's been three days since I got locked up in the dungeon. I got to know because of the dim light coming from the tiny window that even a bird wouldn't fit through. Whenever the day shines, I get to see it from there. I had already lost every will to fight. Barrin must have been buried by now, died gallantly and deserves every respect given to him. The dry tears pricked at the back of my eyes. I haven't been able to shed any tears for a day now; it feels like I am dehydrated. No food or water has been passed onto me.Kyle really wants to teach me a good lesson. Maybe I should have surrendered to Wade the second time he had me. I shouldn't have strived to live. If only I had a glimpse of what would become my future, I definitely wouldn't have returned here. Kyle and Barrin would have lived happily ever after with me gone.Ella is the only one who got to sneak in to see me; she said Raven isn't in the right state of mind to face me at the moment. I don't blame her either;

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 107

Kyle's POV...My heart felt cold, and I could say that I didn't feel any kind of emotion. But I know it's not true; I am only this way because I let the tequila taunt me. The memory of Barrin's cold body and the holes caused by the bullets on his corpse made me want to pull an attack on anyone involved in his death. It's more heartbreaking to learn that my Aria was involved in it. We were fine; why did she have to be a part of my misery?I will never forgive myself for Barrin's death; he wouldn't have ended up with this kind of fate if I didn't choose to love Aria. We would be living in perfect harmony and have nothing to do with the Prowler's pack. I have avoided them for years and steered clear of that doomed pack, but I don't think I can let this slide any longer.I felt a sudden burst of anger inside me when I remembered Aria's confession about being a biological member of the devil pack. As much as I love her, I do not intend to return on my promise to end any soul relating to th

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 106

Aria's POV..."I think she has regained consciousness," I heard a voice say over me.I blinked slowly, trying to adjust my eyes to the beaming light. I felt the spot I was lying in; it was a bed. Squinting my eyes slowly, it appears to be my room. I tried to remember how I got here, and then a flash of Barrin bleeding and me trying to help him back rushed through my head. Like someone being pricked by a nail, I jumped off the bed."Hey! What are you doing?" Devon's sturdy hands gripped both of my arms. "You can't just get up like that."It took me a moment to get myself together; I shook my head hurriedly. "What is going on? How did I get here? Where is Barrin?"Devon looked towards the other man in the room and gestured for him to leave us. "You will need to sit down, Aria." He implored."No, I need to know where Barrin is. Why won't you take me to him?" Tears welled up in my eyes again."I don't know how to say this to you, Aria. I just need you to know that it isn't your fault...."

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 105

Aria's POV...I wrapped my arms around myself, suddenly feeling cold. My eyes lingered on the entrance of the Prowler's pack border; it did look horrifying, but I was determined to make my way in without a doubt. I stood by a big oak tree, watching the pack soldiers walk back and forth with their eyes keenly watching the environment like a hawk. This is my chance to introduce myself and go in.I hid by the corner of the road leading directly to the pack to wait for Barrin. He sounded really worried on the phone. It's obvious not even Devon can hold himself back from exposing me. I checked my wristwatch. If I wait here any longer, the time planned for my return to the Moonstone pack will be stalled. I can't have Kyle knowing about my move before I get the chance to tell him myself. When his call came in, I was still cramped up in the truck that brought me here. Until I found a good hiding spot to make the call, I didn't answer it. Stretching my neck a bit again, the border came in sigh

  • Fated To The Wrong Mate    Chapter 104

Author's POV...Devon shifted uncomfortably in the chair; he kept heaving every passing second. He still hasn't heard from Aria, he had tried her line, but she wasn't picking. That is, if her phone hasn't been seized. It had been thirty minutes since the truck she was in left, and from his calculations, she should have arrived at the Prowler's pack border.Barrin couldn't help but notice the change in Devon's mood, he kept mumbling to himself, and since he returned from checking quickly on his mother, he hadn't been himself. Since he hates being nosy, Barrin thinks it's best if people tell their feelings on their own accord. Even though his friend's reaction to every passing second was distracting him, he didn't say anything.Checking his wristwatch for the umpteenth time, Devon cursed under his breath. "I can't do this!" He let out."What?" Barrin inquired tiredly, dropping the pen in his hand. "Why are you acting nuts?"Shutting his eyes tightly, his lip

Aria's POV...My heart paced rapidly as I watched Kyle get ready to leave. I'm trying my hardest to not give my thought away as my palm greased the spot he had marked me. There is still little burning sensation from it. I have to be more careful with my thoughts until he leaves to avoid him getting a whiff of my intention. His mark has brought us closer, and our minds are more linked now than ever. I can only hope I don't get into trouble until we both return to the pack."Someone looks unhappy to see me leave." He teased, cupping my face in his palm.Without a word, I leaned into his chest, placing my ear on his beating heart. It feels almost the same as mine. I guess we will both miss each other a bit too much."Don't take too long before you return," I warned.Kyle chuckled; the sound tickled my ear. "yes, ma'am. I promise to be back as soon as it's all over. But you have to promise me you would take care and not wander around." He said, holding me forw
