Soon after a few minutes of waiting, the receptionist came to inform her that Beta Valledor was seen in the guest lounge.
“Thank you!” More than happy to leave this pit of snakes, Miranda got up and headed towards the guest area, led by the hotel attendant.
Valledor was in the guest hall among other pack leaders that were lodging in the hotel for the conference, they were all seated in the lounge, drinking, celebrating, exchanging conversations and laughter. Valledor couldn’t help but boast amongst his peers about the wedding tomorrow.
He was a bit tipsy from drinking, but still found words to say, “those of you who look down on the Lotus pack and say bad things about us, you will eat your words when our princess marries the night shadow alpha tomorrow, once we join forces with them, you will never dare to say bad words about us again.”
“I hope to see that day,” one of the alphas of the twelve tribes, Caspian said. “But for now, that your princess hasn’t joined alpha Walden in matrimony, the Lotus pack still remains in the mud for anyone to trample on…”
With that they all, burst into laughter, but Valledor was not moved by their actions, he knew that some of it was caused by alcohol.
Miranda entered the guest quarters then after being led there by one of the hotel staff. Valledor, upon seeing her, gave a smile, and continued to boast to his comrades. He went over to meet her at the entrance and brought her inside.
“Here she comes, the beautiful princess Miranda, the one who will wipe away all our tears, our sorrows, the one who will bring everlasting victory to the Lotus tribe when she marries tomorrow.”
The leaders began to exchange murmurs and whispers between themselves….
“Wow, she is really beautiful!”
“Wonder if Luther or Walden will let me take her as a fifth wife….”
Valledor has to know before he embarrasses the Lotus pack any further, if he keeps boasting when there is going to be no wedding tomorrow, the Lotus pack will be further humiliated. There couldn’t have been a righter time to let him know about the situation.
“Valledor…?” She tugged his arm.
“Yes, my dear?”
“That’s what I came to tell you about, the engagement has been called off, there’ll be no wedding tomorrow.”
As soon as she let out the words, the room suddenly became silent, everyone stopped whispering, as they’d all heard what the princess said, and were now staring at Valledor and Miranda.
“What????” Valledor shook his head… “No, this can’t be, Walden wouldn’t just do that, what happened? Did he reject you?”
She spoke truthfully, “no, he didn’t. I was the one who called it off… I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t do it anymore.”
Her words lit up a flame in the eyes of Valledor, his next set of words were the ones laced with anger and disgust.
“You are a very wicked person, Miranda. So, this was your plan all along? To humiliate the Lotus pack more than it already has been? To bring more shame and disgrace to us? And you intentionally came to tell me this in front of all pack leaders, so that they would mock and laugh at me????”
Miranda shook her head, “no Valledor. I wanted to carry on with the wedding, I was prepared to come here with him today, but after Walden postponed the marriage to next year, I realized then that he doesn’t care about me so much.”
Valledor let out an empty laugh, before increasing his tone, “so this was all about yourself… that’s the only thing you cared about all along!!!!! Your stupid self!! Did you even think or care what would happen to us if you called off this engagement??? I’m really disgusted by your actions Miranda; you’re no princess, you are a disgrace to everything your father has worked for!’
Valledor’s sharp words brought tears to Miranda’s eyes, and then she began to retaliate, “you have no right to speak to me that way Valledor….!”
Before she could say any more words, three hot slaps landed on her cheeks, and if it were not for the interruption of one of the betas, Valledor would have beaten up Miranda very badly there, she now sat on the ground, her hand holding her face, crying a river of tears. All the leaders gathered there sat and watched it all with pity written on their faces while Valledor screamed words at her.
“I’ll speak to you however I please! You disgusting rat! And the next time you dare to talk back at me, I’ll make you regret the day you were ever born!”
Miranda couldn’t remain a second there, she’s been humiliated enough for one day, she needs to get out of here, far away from this place, she doesn’t know where, but so long as it’s not here, she got up, and ran as fast as she could, out of the room, through the hotel lobby, out of the hotel, and into the surrounding estate. She’d reached the forest bordering the estate before she decided to let her wolf out, taking the form of a white furry little creature with sharp teeth, claws and a furry tail, before she ran deep into the forest, never looking back.
Back at the guest lounge, after Beta Valledor left and the scene had been cleared up, the pack leaders continued to gossip amongst themselves.
“She’s lying, alpha Walden must have been the one to call off the wedding.”
“Of course, we all know he rejected her; she’s just saying that so as to save some part of her dignity. Why would anyone willingly marry the Lotus princess? And even if they even agreed, why would SHE be the one to call it off?”
“We all know it’s a lie, he must have realized he’s making a mistake and rejected her immediately.”
“I feel so much pity for that pack, they’ve been through so much and now they have no one to stand by their side, this wedding was their only hope.”
Lily ran until her legs could take her no farther, her legs ached after running for so long, till the point at which she felt she would die if she took any more steps, stopping underneath a tree to rest with her head laid down on the forest ground. She looked up panting for a few minutes as she lay, telling the time from the skies, evening had come, she’d better be running home now, else she’d have everyone at home worried. Even though she still felt crappy at what happened a few hours ago, it still didn’t make her change her decision, neither did it make her regret what she did. Nothing, no matter how worse things got, would ever make her regret her decision of refusing to marry Walden. After resting for a while, she got up from the ground, it was a good run, and it was time to go home now. It was when she looked around that she then noticed that she’d entered a different territory. With the different trees and plants that grew around this area, also with the different soil, she coul
“Move it miss! You dare not keep the alpha waiting!”Miranda trembled as each step she took brought her closer to the silver packhouse court, where her fate would be decided for intruding on the pack’s territory, her head was bent as she walked in chains past the city gates, where the majority of the silver wolves lived. As she passed, she could feel their glances pinned on her; the strange prisoner that was being taken into the court to meet with Alpha Damian, she was a she wolf, and she looked so small and innocent, mixed glances of worry and pity overshadowed her as she was taken in.Finally entering the court,“On your knees!” The guards behind her didn’t wait before pushing her mercilessly, so that her knees hit the ground with such painful force. She’d heard a lot of stories, but she never thought it would be this intense. Why were the silver wolves so cold to strangers entering their lands in such manner? And why the HELL didn’t she check properly before wandering into this pla
“Kill her!”Maybe this was the end; this was truly the end for her, she wasn’t sure that there was anything she would say that would move him further, this man was harder than a brick wall, with a heart made of steel. She saw the executioner approaching her then, wearing a mask, a large axe hanging from his hand, ready to carry on with her sentence. Her wolf cried out then.“What are you doing!!!! You can’t give up! You can’t let him kill you just like that!!!”Lily was right, she can still do something about this; maybe there’s a chance her life might still be saved. She began to plead again, her view in line with where alpha Damian was, holding his gaze with desperate eyes, Lily tried to see if she could reach out to his wolf too.“Please! Don’t kill me alpha Damian! Please…. there has to be a way! Anything! I’ll do anything to prove my innocence to you! Anything!”It was almost too late! As the headsman held out the axe standing behind her, in a few seconds, it would be the end, he
Watching the body being taken away, fear pierced Miranda like a knife at his words, but still she didn’t know where the courage to speak so boldly came from.“What do I have to do to prove to you that I am not the enemy?”Everywhere became silent as the alpha contemplated on what to do to regarding the lotus princess’s claim. It took him a while to finally figure out the best way she could vindicate herself. The silence was once again cleared by the sound of his voice.“I will send a message to your father that I am holding you captive for trespassing on my lands. He has to respond to me within three days with the official seal of the alpha of the Lotus pack, only the alpha holds such power. If he does this, then I will know that your claim is true.”“But….”“What?”“What if… what if he can’t….? What if he is unable to respond by that time?”“Then I’ll know you’re a fraud, and you’ve already seen what I do with frauds.”She began to cry again, “No, no, no….! You don’t …. You don’t und
Miranda shook from the chilling cold in her prison cell, this was literally the worst night of her life, with the only company she had to keep here being the rats and cockroaches that inhabited this dark and cold cell, she wasn’t even given a blanket. How cruel could these silver wolves be? She wondered.Don’t worry, it’s just three days, it will be all over after then, she tried convincing herself, but it was not working. She didn’t know which was worse; letting alpha Damian kill her or going back to marry alpha Walden after everything that had happened. Even though she didn’t like the latter, it sounded much better than dyeing a gruesome death and leaving her people behind to suffer. After hours of tossing and turning on the ground, she finally managed to close her eyes for a bit before she heard some squeaky noises and a sharp pain on her finger. She opened her eyes to see a small rat chewing on her finger like it was a piece of bread. She growled, quickly grabbing the rat in her c
Miranda trembled as she approached his quarters, although she was thankful to this man for sparing her life, and also thankful to him for taking her out of that nightmare of a cell yesterday, he still terrified the life of her, and now, she was going to meet with him in his chambers! Alone! Oh, how she dreaded this moment! She didn’t want to go to him at all!She walked until she reached her destination, now standing in front of the large double doors, hesitant to knock.“You can do this!” Her wolf cheered her on and then she took the bold step.Knock-knock-knock She waited and waited, no response, scared to knock again, especially with the endless warnings madame Jane had given her about meeting the alpha before she came here. “You only need to knock once, no matter how long you have to wait, do not disturb him, he hates that. Do not speak to him without being spoken to, and most importantly, you must never… never question any decision he makes.”She shivered, standing there, her pa
Samara couldn’t take it anymore; she’d been staring at that letter for hours, and the curiosity was eating her up to the extent that she began pacing around and biting her fingers nervously. She needed to know what it contained, but… Walden wouldn’t be back till tomorrow. No! She couldn’t wait till then! She needed to know what the message said now!!! But... if she opened it before he came, Walden would know because she’d have broken the seal... Oh well, she’ll cross that bridge when she got there, after all, he’ll only be mad at her for a second... in fact, he’ll forget all about his anger after receiving a good blow job from her.She took the scroll in her hand and broke the seal, unwrapping the paper to reveal it’s content. Anger burned through her after reading the message that was meant for Walden."So, the Lotus princess is still alive after all! Not only that… she remains a prisoner in the silver pack house and she expects that Walden will come to save her!!!"She then hurried
Ever since the day he lied to both the alpha and the beta, Stanley had never been able to get over the mixed feelings of fear and guilt in his heart; and it wasn’t just because he felt he would be in trouble if the alpha found out, but because someone innocent would die because of him. That lady at the gate, he didn’t know why, but he just didn’t trust that lady, his conscience spoke against giving her the letter that day, and the fact that alpha Walden didn’t respond up till now only proves that his conscience was somewhat right; its likely she didn’t keep to her promise of delivering the message. If Walden still doesn’t come tomorrow, Miranda will be executed by evening, and it would be all because of him. No! He couldn’t let that happen; he wasn’t sure if alpha Walden got the message, but now he knew more than ever that he needed to be.He got up from his bed, quickly changing his clothes before grabbing his car keys on his bedside table and running out to his garage. As he started
Walden never expected to feel so much calm and peace in his heart after visiting Conor’s grave. He knew he’d done the right thing by facing the last of his fears to visit the night shadow cemetery, and now he’s glad he did.He returned to the packhouse that afternoon to see how things were going, as he’d been absent for the last two days, things hadn’t changed pretty much as all of his followers had done well to keep the activities together while he was with his love, Maggie. Which reminds him…He took a stroll through the pack house halls to the royal chambers, and then to the big bedroom he’d placed her in, not too far from his own.“How is my love doing?” He asked as he met her in the room. She was still folding up the last of her belongings, out of the luggage and into the bedroom drawers.“Where did you go? You suddenly disappeared right after breakfast,” she stated after their brief kiss. “I had some urgent matters to take care of. I’m sorry I didn’t let you know before I went
***TWO DAYS LATER***Maggie and her daughter had moved back into the packhouse today. This was after Walden had spent the last two days with them, as they’d made so many memories similar to the way a normal family would. Maggie would forever keep those moments in her heart, as she prayed that they would last forever.Things were just beginning to take a new turn for Walden, and there was still so much that would go on with his new lover, he intended to take things to a new level with her, but before he did anything, he’d decided in his heart to settle the past first, even though he now had his life back, there was still something he needed to do.He didn’t tell anyone what he was doing prior to coming here, maybe it’s because he needed to do this freely, or for whatever reason, but before he starts his new future, he wants to make things right. He’d reached his destination after taking a stroll through the woods, he’d gathered different flowers, as he’d had a hard time deciding which
Maggie grinned as she buried her fingers in his hair, and kissed him back hungrily. She held him fast, her lips sucking on his, fingers digging into his scalp, mound gyrating feverishly against his rock-hard cock. All rational thought escaped him. He immersed himself in the delight of Maggie’s curves. Her hands moved down his back to tug at his shirt impatiently. When her hands slipped between their bodies and unfastened his pants. Both hands thrust into his open fly and pulled his cock free. She stroked him up and down vigorously between her palms, her fingertips dancing against his flesh. Jesus, he liked it rough like that. His breath caught in the back of his throat. Her fingers tangled in the moist hair at his nape, and she exulted in the knowledge that she had done this to him.‘Kiss me,’ she said, discovering confidence in herself she’d never known before. She reached up to him, finding his breathless mouth with hers, and with another muffled oath he cradled her face between his
*I love you. It’s been a long time since he heard those words from anybody’s mouth. Maggie loved him. Why then did he leave her so angrily? Why was he even so mad at her? Was he mad that she’d denied him the chance of knowing the truth for so long, or was he just mad at himself for thinking he might hurt her later? That he didn’t deserve her, the same way she’d thought she wasn’t worthy of being with him?He spent the rest of the day at his bedroom window, cancelling all of his activities as he’d missed the morning rounds. He needed time and space to think clearly, as his mind is going through a whole lot right now.So much time passed that Walden didn’t even know how long he spent in his thoughts. It was already nighttime and he is still by his window. He then felt a loud growl in his stomach, remembering that he hasn’t had anything to eat throughout the day, but he didn’t let that bother him, as food is the least of his problems now.He doesn’t know if the ghost will come or not, bu
It was already late in the afternoon when Walden woke up the next day. He feels different this time around, and this is because he slept like a baby the previous night. Surprisingly, he had slept all through the night, and through the morning, after having passionate sex with this woman he seemed to want so much of.His eyes were still closed when his hand searched, reaching through the sheets surrounding him, and then he noticed she wasn’t there. He opened his eyes then to the sound of her voice coming from the door.“Good afternoon, sire.”“Maggie?”He saw that she was fully dressed and holding a tray of food in her hands. She’d let him sleep as she went to the kitchen to prepare some food for him, thinking he’d need it after draining so much energy last night, but that seemed to be the least of his problems.“Come.” He reached out his arms to her as he sat up on the queen size bed. After dropping the tray on the table, she went into his embrace. Not a word was said as they both rem
“Then why am I still having these nightmares?” He growled. His expression was frightening, she’d never seen him like this before, at least not towards her. “I don't know. The spirit was not supposed to return. The nightmares were not supposed to return!” “Do you know how it feels each night for me? Do you know that for the last six months, I have not slept like a normal man?!!! Do you know how it feels thinking that you are finally liberated from something after all your efforts to get rid of it, only for it to come back at you, like it never even left?”“Walden, please calm down. I would never lie to you, especially not after how much you've helped me. I would never deceive you. That spirit is gone. I don't know what it is you saw again, but I assure you there's no way it could have come back.”He suddenly let out a sarcastic laugh which surprised her. “So now, you’re insinuating that I'm crazy. I don't know what it is I saw?”“You are not crazy, Walden. You are only an alpha ki
"You’re… Sending us away?” The tone of her voice said it all as she didn’t hide anything. She didn’t hide the disappointment she felt, and Walden didn’t miss it at all. "No. Of course not. I’d never do that. You and Emily are always welcome at the night shadow packhouse at any time. I only did this because I thought you probably needed your privacy. I thought that’s why you left the first time…" She didn’t answer, only kept staring down at the keys in her hand. "Tell me, is there something wrong?” He asked. “You know, you don’t have to stay here if you don’t want to.” "No.” She suddenly looked up, smiling as she hid her previous expression. “I’m sorry. I love it. I was just surprised, that’s all."Walden didn’t seem to be fooled by that answer, “are you sure? You don’t have to pretend. I won’t take offence if you choose to remain in the packhouse instead."She shook her head, “no. Of course, we need our privacy like you said. Thank you so much for everything, alpha Walden. We’ll b
“Conor!” Sandy gasped, seeing the spirit standing right in front of her, almost like it was in the flesh, how she missed him! She’d missed him so much and she doesn’t know how to let go at this time. Good, Maggie thought. Sandy did a good job summoning the spirit as it came out on time, she kept on spreading the fumes as she signaled to the spirit seeker who was outside the square to hit the Goni drum louder, which would open a portal where Sandy would push the spirit into, banishing it forever just like Maggie had told her prior to this. "Now!" The drumming sounds became louder and faster, and Maggie spread the fumes round and round so as to weaken the spirit. Walden stood still on his side of his square as he’d been told, not to move a muscle, not to say anything so that the spirit won’t see him, realize what was happening and disappear. The sage fumes weakened the spirit, and Sandy could see the sadness in his eyes. She felt so much pity for him. This man died in one of the wo
The manner in which Sandy had agreed to come along with them still baffled Walden so much. He could remember how reluctant she was yesterday when they’d spoken. He’d pretty much given up because he thought that Sandy didn’t believe any of his words. But Maggie… What sort of trick did Maggie use on his sister to get her to agree just like that? This was far from what surprised Walden the most, as not only that, but the two women had developed a close relationship in such a short time, you’d have thought that they’d known each other for years with the way they’d conversed throughout the entire trip back home, leaving Walden to watch and stare at them in amazement. Who are you, Maggie? He asked himself many times then.Maggie enjoyed the talks she had with Sandy, as she was in such a good mood, even though tired. Today had been a happy day for the entire siltus packhouse, as they celebrated the arrival of a new born male cub, the Beta’s son in the early hours of the morning. Maggie hardl
