Back at the mansion, Lily found herself standing in the large living room alongside Lucas and Liam, their heads down as their father’s seething gaze bore into them.
The silence hung thick in the air, as if waiting to be shattered by the wrath that simmered just below the surface.
Their father clenched his fists, his jaw set in a hard line as he surveyed the three of them with a mixture of fury and disappointment.
When he finally spoke, his voice was low but laced with an undeniable edge.
“Do you have any idea what you’ve done? You’re setting a disgraceful example for the rest of the pack" He said, his fury threatening to destroy them both.
It was obvious that he was disappointed in his son's behavior for engaging in a fight in school grounds where they could easily be spotted.
If it was left to him, he wouldn't be angry if they had fought where no one could see them. It was normal for Alphas to fight but it was an embarrassment to get caught.
Liam shifted uncomfortably beside Lily, and she could feel his tension radiating like a storm cloud.
She feared she might get caught up in everything and even though she was actually the cause of what happened, she didn't want the twin's father screaming at her like a deranged person.
“Father, we didn’t mean for things to get out of hand,” he began, his tone cautious.
But his father cut him off with a cold, furious glare.
“Didn’t mean for things to get out of hand? Fighting on school grounds, getting detention—it’s an embarrassment! You’re Alphas! You’re supposed to show discipline, strength, leadership—not impulsiveness and recklessness most especially in school"
Lucas took a step forward, trying to explain.
“Father, there was a situation—someone was disrespecting us in our territory and we felt that it was only right to defend ourselves. I mean, we don't want to be seen as weak in the eyes of our pack."
“Silence!” The Alpha roared, his voice echoing through the room. “I don’t care what the situation was! There is no excuse. Do you understand me?”
The twins’ mother, standing by her husband’s side, looked at her sons with a mixture of disappointment and sadness.
She didn't enjoy scolding them, but it was the best thing to do when they make such a mistake that would cause the family name to be smeared.
“Your father’s right. You’re supposed to be the examples that the others look up to. Instead, you’re causing trouble and drawing unnecessary attention to yourselves.”
Lily glanced sideways at Lucas and Liam, feeling an unexpected pang of guilt.
She hadn’t intended for things to escalate this way, but there was little she could do now.
All she prayed for was that the old Alpha won't direct his anger towards her. It might be inevitable but she would prefer if she could avoid it entirely.
Suddenly, the Alpha's piercing gaze turned to her, and she felt herself tense under his anger.
Her prayer had not worked and she was left to endure the Alpha's wrath.
“And you, Lily,” he said, his tone colder than ice. “Instead of going to call a teacher, perhaps you could have shown some sense and separated them yourself. I don't blame them fir defending our territory but I blame you for being a snitch and reporting them.”
The accusation stung, and Lily’s mouth opened in shock. She hadn’t expected the blame to entirely fall on her.
In the heat of the moment, she’d thought finding a teacher was the best way to stop the fight.
With as much calm as she could muster, she said, “I… I thought getting a teacher would be the fastest way to end things. I didn’t want anyone to get hurt.”
The Alpha's face darkened.
“And yet you thought it wise to involve outsiders in a pack matter. You brought shame upon us by calling someone else to handle what should have been handled within the family.”
“But that’s not fair,” Lily protested, unable to contain her frustration. “I didn’t—”
Her words were cut short as the Alpha took a menacing step toward her, his posture rigid with anger.
His hand twitched, as if the impulse to discipline her for speaking out had taken hold.
“How dare you talk back to me?” he growled. “You’ve already embarrassed this family enough.”
Before she could react, Lucas stepped between them, his stance firm as he held his father’s gaze.
“Father, please. If anyone is to blame, let it be me,” he said, his voice steady, though Lily could sense the tension within him. “I was there. I should have handled it better.”
The Alpha's gaze shifted from Lily to Lucas, his eyes narrowing as he studied his son.
The anger in his expression flickered, replaced momentarily by something else—perhaps a reluctant respect for his son’s protective instincts. But it lasted only a moment, and his face hardened once more.
“I am deeply disappointed in all of you,” the old Alpha said, his voice filled with contempt. “You’ve embarrassed yourselves and the entire pack. I hope this serves as a lesson to each of you.”
With that, he turned on his heel and walked out of the room, his wife following closely behind him.
The door closed behind them with a heavy thud, leaving the three of them in tense silence.
Lily glanced over at Lucas, who was still standing protectively in front of her. She felt a strange mix of gratitude and confusion.
He had defended her, taken the blame on himself even when he could have easily let her face their father’s wrath alone.
“Thank you,” she said softly, her voice barely more than a whisper.
Lucas glanced back at her, his expression unreadable.
For a moment, he said nothing, his gaze holding hers with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat. Finally, he gave a small nod.
“You don’t need to thank me,” he replied, his voice surprisingly hateful. “Just… stay away from us, Lily.”
The words hung between them, carrying a weight that she didn’t fully understand, but that seemed to resonate deeply nonetheless.
I need y'all's support. So please show me some love 🥺✨❤️🌈
The mansion was quiet, the faint sounds of the night coming in through the windows as Lily moved silently down the hallway, her footsteps soft against the floor. She had waited until she was sure everyone was asleep, listening carefully until silence had settled over the house. Her mind was a storm of conflicting emotions, and there was only one person she felt she could talk to about it, even if he was partly to blame for the confusion inside her.Taking a deep breath, she found herself standing outside Lucas’s door, her heart pounding as she lifted her hand to knock. She wasn’t entirely sure why she felt the need to see him tonight, but the lingering memory of him standing between her and his father kept pulling her back, refusing to let her sleep. The door opened, and there stood Lucas, his expression unreadable, his brows slightly raised in surprise. He was shirtless, and the sight of his bare chest, defined and sculpted in a way she hadn’t expected, left her momentarily speech
Lily sat alone in the back corner of the school courtyard. The day had been tiring and her mind was a mess of regret when she saw Liam and his parents go into the principal's office. She looked around at the students laughing and chatting, living their lives without the constant tension she felt every day. Sometimes, she wished she could have that kind of freedom, to just be a regular teenager without the responsibilities and complexities of being associated with the pack.As she sat there, she felt an unwelcome presence approaching. The faint sound of heels against the concrete made her heart sink. She knew that sound well. It was Lexa, walking toward her with her usual air of superiority and purpose. Lily could sense the hate radiating from her even before she spoke, and she braced herself, knowing whatever Lexa had to say would only bring more frustration.Lexa crossed her arms and sneered as she looked down at Lily. “Well, well, if it isn’t the new Luna sitting here all by he
The bell rang, signaling the start of another day of torture for Lily Winters. She sighed and put her books in her backpack. As much as she tried to pretend each day was just another step toward her freedom, it never got easier. She was seventeen years old, and was treated like trash by everyone in her pack. And it wasn’t because of something she’d done, no, it was because of her family. Her father had been exiled from the pack years ago for breaking some unspoken rule she was too young to understand at the time. Her mother had barely held it together after that, taking odd jobs and struggling to keep the family afloat. Ever since her father’s disgrace, the pack treated Lily like she carried his shame. She could still remember the day the bullying started, when she was just ten years old. And the worst of it came from the Alpha twins.“Hey, Wolf Trash!” a mocking voice shouted from behind her. She immediately picked up her pace. Without looking back, she already knew whose voic
The days until her eighteenth birthday felt like they were moving slowly, each one dragging her through the same hellish routine at school. Every morning, Lily counted down the hours, telling herself that soon, it would all be over. Freedom was so close, she could almost taste it. She had spent a lot of time thinking carefully about her escape, and now, only days remained. But as her birthday approached, a feeling of unease had started to enter into her thoughts.“Lily, you’re sure about this?” her best friend, Maya, asked as they sat under a large tree at the edge of the school courtyard during lunch. It was the only place people didn't throw their food at her, unlike in the cafeteria where they constantly poured insults and various things on her body.At least she was with Maya, the only person in the entire pack who treated her with any kindness. She had been there since they were kids, standing by Lily even when the bullying became unbearable. Lily looked at her sandwich. Her
The days went on, but the strange feeling in Lily’s chest only grew stronger. Maya had noticed her being distracted in school. “Are you sure you’re okay?” she asked for the third time that week, sitting next to Lily in the courtyard during lunch.Lily nodded her head to answer.“Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired" She replied.“Tired from what? It’s not like you’re pulling all-nighters for school,” Maya teased, but her eyes were filled with concern. “Look, I know things have been tough with the twins, but something feels off. You’ve been acting weird.”Lily sighed, leaning back against the tree they sat under. “It’s not just them,” she admitted. “There’s… something else.”Maya frowned.“What do you mean?” she asked almost immediately.Lily hesitated, unsure if she should even bring it up. She didn’t want to sound paranoid, but the feeling of fear had been in her mind for days. Finally, she decided to tell Maya about the person she’d seen outside her window.“I think someone’s been watchin
The Moon Goddess Festival arrived faster than Lily expected. All around her, the pack buzzed with anticipation. Decorations hung from the trees and houses, and people seemed to be enjoying the evening's grand celebration. The festival had always been a massive event for the pack, a tradition going back centuries. It was meant to honor the Moon Goddess and her guidance over the wolves, particularly in matters of mates. But for Lily, tonight held a much darker significance. It was time for her escape, the day she had been counting down to for years, the day she would finally leave. No one in the pack had cared about her birthday; no one even acknowledged it, they probably didn't remember. All they cared was the Alpha twins mate ritual. But that didn’t matter. She didn’t need their well wishes. What she needed was freedom. She clenched her fists at the thought of Lucas and Liam. All these years, they had tormented her relentlessly, making her life a living hell. And now, they were
Lily stood in complete silence, the weight of the Moon Goddess's choice pressing down on her heavily. It felt surreal to be named the mate of Lucas and Liam, the very twins who had turned her life into a living nightmare. A rush of anger filled her veins and judging from the cold expression on both their faces, it was obvious they hated the idea of being tied to her too.“This can’t be real,” she muttered, shaking her head in disbelief. “You’re both sick for even thinking I would accept this.”Liam stepped forward, arms crossed as he rolled his eyes. He felt she was being too dramatic. Every girl would kill to be chosen as their mate but Lily was behaving like she hasn't just won a lottery.“But the Goddess has chosen you, Lily. You don’t get to decide. This is destiny” He replied.“Destiny?” Lily spat, her voice rising. “Destiny is not being forced into a relationship with two bullies! You think I would ever want to be with you after everything you’ve done?”“Look, Lily,” Lucas sai
The cool night air hit Lily’s face as Lucas and Liam dragged her back to the city square. She was already boiling, her mind filled with anger and frustration. The town square was full, all eyes turning as the twins brought her into the center. A loud gasp rose from the crowd, and whispers went through the pack as people recognized her.“Isn’t that Lily? What’s happening?” someone murmured.“She tried to run, didn’t she?” another voice said, obviously with hate.“Traitor,” someone added, and soon enough, the crowd’s murmur turned into a loud series of sneers and insults.Lily clenched her jaw, refusing to let their words wound her. They had called her every name possible over the years; what was one more insult? She kept her gaze ahead, narrowing her eyes as she spotted Alpha Dean, Lucas and Liam’s father, standing at the front of the gathering. He held his head high, a look of both anger and disappointment plastered into his face as he looked at her.“She tried to cross the bound

Lily’s head began spinning as she found herself cornered by Lucas and Liam, the hard glares from her mates piercing into her with an intensity that left her unsettled. She had barely had a moment to catch her breath but the twins seemed determined to confront her, their eyes blazing with barely-contained anger.“What the hell do you think you’re doing, Lily?” Lucas spat, his voice low but brimming with fury. His fists were clenched tightly at his sides, his gaze unwavering as he waited for her to answer.Lily swallowed, struggling to keep her voice steady. “I told you, I was just talking to Alex,” she stammered, her words faltering under their scathing stares. “There’s nothing wrong with that.”Liam scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned closer, his eyes narrowing.“Nothing wrong?” he sneered. She felt a surge of indignation rise within her, and she fought to hold her ground, even as her heart hammered in her chest. “It’s not like that! Alex is just my friend,” she
Lily took a deep, shaky breath, wiping away the last traces of her tears as Alex’s concerned gaze remained on her. He was patient, not pressing her, just waiting for her to speak when she was ready. His gentle presence was grounding, allowing her to ease into the silence between them before she finally found the words."Whenever you feel like it, just feel free to tell me what's wrong and I won't hesitate to listen to you" Alex said as he held Lily tighter.“It’s my mom,” she admitted quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. “She… she has a way of making me feel like everything I have, I owe to her. Like I don’t deserve anything on my own.”Alex’s expression softened, a sympathetic understanding flickering in his eyes. “I get it,” he said, his tone gentle. “My mom’s… similar in some ways. She’s always reminded me of the sacrifices she made for me. It’s like there’s this silent expectation that I have to live a certain way to honor that.”Lily looked at him in surprise, not having
The morning was a still, quiet one, with the first rays of dawn just beginning to filter through Lily's bedroom window. She stared at herself in the mirror, straightening her uniform and squaring her shoulders as she steeled herself for the day. Her thoughts were set on one thing: she was tired of being treated like an afterthought, someone who didn’t belong. As she went downstairs, she found Lucas and Liam waiting by the front door, leaning casually against the wall. They straightened when they saw her approach.“I want a separate car to school,” she declared, keeping her tone even but firm.Lucas raised an eyebrow, and Liam scoffed. “What for?” he asked, folding his arms.Lily met their stares, unflinching. “Because I’m tired of being dropped off in some hidden corner of the school just because you two don’t want to be seen with me. If you’re so ashamed, let me have my own car.”For a moment, silence stretched between them, the twins exchanging a look. She half-expected them to
Lily’s room was dimly lit, casting warm, golden shadows across the walls as she stood before her mirror, carefully combing her hair. She stared at her reflection, her thoughts a gentle whirl of emotions as she recalled Alex’s defense of her that day in the cafeteria. A soft smile appeared at her lips, a mixture of gratitude and something else she couldn’t quite name. It felt good, so incredibly good, to have someone see her and stand up for her, to remind her that she wasn’t invisible. She didn’t understand exactly why Alex’s gesture had made her so happy. After all, she barely knew him, and she had never thought herself the kind to be swayed by a stranger’s kindness. Yet, something about his confidence, the steady way he’d held his ground against the twins—it had sparked a fire inside her she hadn’t known was there. Maybe, she thought, just maybe, she wasn’t as alone as she’d felt all this time.Just as she was beginning to lose herself in the thought, a knock sounded at her doo
The low hum of chatter in the cafeteria was abruptly cut short when Lucas and Liam rose from their table and walked across the room toward Lily, Maya, Alex, and his friends. The sight was enough to make the other students turn their heads, sensing that something significant was about to unfold. Lily’s stomach twisted with dread, and she set down her fork, exchanging a worried glance with Maya.Alex, however, seemed calm, unaware of the intense tension that was quickly building. He continued eating with a casual ease, glancing at Lucas and Liam only when they came to stand directly in front of the table. The twins looked down at Alex with hard, assessing gazes. Their confidence and barely contained hostility filled the air, and Lily felt herself instinctively brace for what was to come. She knew Lucas and Liam well enough to recognize when they were on the verge of confrontation.“Hello, everyone,” Lucas said, his voice carrying an edge as he scanned the faces at the table. “In ca
The lunch bell rang, and students entered into the hallways, making their way toward the cafeteria to eat lunch. Lily gathered her books, trying to hide her reluctance to leave the classroom because it meant going to eat in the school compound under the big tree to eat.She and Maya usually found a quiet spot in the courtyard for lunch—a place where they could enjoy their food without any prying eyes or harsh words. She didn't know if it was the right thing to do now that she was Luna, but she preferred not to think about it too much.Maya walked beside her, talking about an upcoming project in chemistry class she hopes they can work together on when Alex suddenly appeared in front of them, flashing a warm smile.“Hey, Lily.” He said, a beaming smile on his face. "Would you mind introducing me to your beautiful friend?" Maya flushed and Lily could tell that she liked getting compliments from Alex."Where are my manners, Alex, this is Maya, my best friend in the whole world, and Maya
