CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE - YOUNG WOLF

After Stanley left the diner, the day started to go by pretty quickly. No damn wolves showed up at my work and things with James seemed to be going well, although I couldn't even get a good look at him as we walked past each other. If he asks, I'll say that everything was very busy and there was no way to talk. Which isn't a lie.

It was almost the end of the day when I served the last customer. James was near the counter talking to Maxwell and Jake, so I didn't waste my time. I slipped past them unnoticed and went to the locker room to change out of my uniform.

When I was already in the dressing room changing clothes, happy that nobody noticed me, I heard some firm steps coming towards where I was. The curtain was pulled open a little too aggressively before I saw James's irritated, impatient look.

"Sarah, why are you so strange? "she spoke quickly.
