"Diana, wait."
Diana paused at the door and sighed. Her plan to leave for school unnoticed hadn't been successful. She just wanted to be alone. She wasn't ready to face her brothers. She turned and watched as the triplets hurried towards her."You're leaving without us?" Alden asked, a hurt expression on his face."I...," Diana stuttered."But we always drive you to school," Asher said next."Are we bothering you?" Axel gently took her hand."No." Diana shook her head, staring at each of them in the eyes. "You could never bother me. Why would you think of something like that?""You've been avoiding us since last night," Axel said."If this is about what happened, what we tried to do...," Asher began."We're sorry," Alden apologized. "Maybe we got carried, and made you feel uncomfortable. We'll keep our distance now.""No," Diana shook her head again. "I don't want you to keep your distance. I..."She paused. It was at the tip of her tongue to tell them how much she loved them. Not just as a sister. She had fallen in love with three of them, wholeheartedly. But she also knew it was wrong. One day, she would find her mate. And everything she felt for them now would be gone."I don't just understand my feelings sometimes," she said finally. "I just want to find my mate, find my wolf. And be happy."Alden smiled in relief. If she was worried about finding her mate, then it was only a matter of time. Once she turned eighteen, she would know. She would finally belong to them."Come on," he drew her close into an embrace. "Let's forget about everything that happened. You know we love you, and this awkwardness between us isn't really nice.""Yea it isn't," Diana agreed and chuckled. She turned and beckoned to Asher and Axel.It was an awkward hug, with the three of them wrapped in each others arms. But it lightened the mood and everyone laughed."Now come on, you're gonna be late for school," Asher took her backpack from her and led her towards the car.Suddenly Alden and his brothers froze. The air turned thick as they surrounded Diana with their body, protecting her from the danger they felt."What's happening?" Diana asked, her eyes round with fear. Why were they suddenly alert?Alden's head whipped to the right and his eyes turned black, his canines slowly emerging. His nostrils flared and a low growl rumbled in his chest."Something's not right," Axel whispered. His stance was the same as Alden and Asher, eyes black, canines protruded, back stiff and ears alert."What is it?" Diana repeated. She couldn't feel anything out of the ordinary. Whatever made her brothers act tense must have been serious."Stay here with Diana," Alden said coldly, his black gaze scanning the pack perimeters. "I'll scan the forest."Asher and Axel stood on either side of Diana, protecting her with their bodies, while Alden shifted into his large brown wolf and bounded into the forest."Asher what's the matter?" Diana whispered, moving closer to him."We felt an intruder," Asher explained, keeping his eyes pinned in the direction Alden disappeared."A dark smell," Axel added. "Something that doesn't belong here.""What do you think it is?" Diana asked further, her eyes darting around, trying to single out the intruder.Asher and Axel didn't give her a reply, and Diana had to watch too, hoping it was just a stray wolf that caught their attention. A few minutes went past and Alden finally returned."See anything?" Asher asked.Alden shook his head. "Nothing. But there's a weird scent in the air.""What kind of scent?" Diana asked worriedly.Alden stared at her for a second, contemplating if he should tell her. He seemed to change his mind at the last minute because he smiled and lightly touched her cheek."Nothing you need to worry about," he said. "I'm sure one of the kids at school strayed too far. We have to go now, before you get really late."Fortunately, Diana believed the lie and didn't question him further. As they got into the car, Asher used the mind link and asked the question burning within him.[What was it?][A rogue] Alden answered, grounding his teeth to suppress his anger.[You don't think it is a normal rogue] Axel stated. Alden was obviously furious about something, and it wasn't because of the rogue. Something had ticked him off.[I don't know if it is a normal rogue] Alden answered as he started the car and the porsche purred to life. [But whatever it was, it is connected to Diana.][How?] Asher and Axel asked at the same time, sitting upright instantly.Diana looked up when Axel and Asher suddenly leaned forward in the car. She frowned, watching them for a few seconds, before turning back to stare outside.[I found a note. The note read...]Alden paused, his eyes flickering dangerously.[Alden what did the note say?] Asher prodded him.[Whoever it is, they want Diana. The note says Diana belongs to them, and we can't hide her anymore.]Asher and Axel were stunned speechless for a moment. Why Diana? Was there something about her birth they didn't know?[Let's talk about this when we return] Alden told them finally. [Don't say a word about it to Diana. I don't want her to be worried.]Alden closed the mind link and backed out of the driveway, his brown eyes scanning the forest around them.He didn't want to rule it off as a threat, but if indeed someone was after Diana, then they had to find out who it was and why.As the car zoomed off, a dark figure slowly stepped out from the shadow of the forest. It was a dark wolf, fur as dark as night, eyes reflecting the darkness within it.The wolf watched the porsche until it disappeared, and then turned and howled softly. The trees behind it moved and a dozen black wolves stepped out, eyes and fur identical to their leader.Rogue werewolves. The creatures watched the mansion for a few minutes before disappearing into the forest.Diana felt skeptical returning to school the very next day after being in a fight with Syrena. If it had been up to her, she would have stayed home for a week before returning. Then, every side talk would have died down. Now, she would have to endure more weird looks from the other shifters."Here you go," Alden handed her her backpack. "We'll come pick you up later. And Diana, please...,""I know, I know," Diana rolled her eyes. "Stay away from Syrena and don't get into another fight."Asher and Axel looked amused and Alden reached out and tucked her hair behind her ear. "I was gonna tell you to be safe, but ignoring Syrena is also important."Diana shook her head, a soft smile tugging her lips. "Bye guys. Love you."She shut the door and made her way towards the large open doors.Alden watched her go, never taking his eyes off her until she was inside the school. Then he turned to his brothers."You know what you have to do," he said.Asher nodded. "We'll stay hidden in our wolf fo
"Diana, over here," Jason yelled.Diana resisted the urge to groan in frustration. Now the whole school knew she was going to sit with him. Could her day get any worse?Gripping her lunch tray carefully, she made her way through the aisle, trying not to fidget under the open stares from some of the students. She was almost at his table when someone stuck out their leg and Diana tripped on it. Her tray slipped from her hand as she struggled to balance herself.Someone screamed and Diana looked up, her eyes widening as she spotted Syrena drenched in milk. Her tray had landed on the floor, spilling the content everywhere, and the box of milk had splashed its content on some of the students.Syrena took the brunt of it.Someone snickered, and a few giggles followed. Soon the entire students burst out laughing. Syrena turned red with rage and she marched towards Diana."How dare you?!" she screamed."It... It was an accident," Diana stuttered, trying to hold back her own laughter. To se
"For the last time Headmaster Walter, I see nothing wrong with what I did," Jason drawled, his voice etched with exasperation. "I like Diana, and I feel we could be mates. What's wrong with telling her that?"They were currently in the Headmaster's office;Headmaster Walter, Jasper, Jason and Diana, Syrena and the triplets, Alden, Asher and Axel. When Jason admitted that he liked Diana, no one noticed the murderous looks that passed through Alden and his brothers' expression."Didn't you have a thing with Syrena?" Jasper asked next."There was never a thing between me and her," Jasper denied instantly, much to the annoyance of Syrena who stood beside him. "I like Diana, and I told her I would love to know her better. I know she's my mate.""I suggest you wait until the next mating ceremony before you lay claim to our sister," Asher grounded out coldly.Diana looked up at her brothers in surprise. She knew they were possessive when it came to boys, but to show it in the presence of so m
There was a brief moment of silence, but it was long enough for Alden to consider what good it would do if they told Diana she was mated to them.If Diana realized she was indeed mated to all three of them, the questions would start. How was it possible to be mated to ones brothers? And then they would have to tell her she wasn't really their sister, which would lead to more questions because Diana would want to know who she was and why the truth about her birth had been kept hidden for so long.It wasn't the right time yet. They still hadn't told their parents that Diana was their mate. Everything had to be done right. The timing mattered.Which was why he was hoping Diana would wolf out on her eighteenth birthday, and feel the pull of the mate bond. When that time came, he would be ready with an explanation to all her questions."How can you say that?" Alden finally spoke out, a look of astonishment on his face. "We can't be your mate, Diana. We're your brothers."Asher and Axel sho
Diana just stepped out from the bathroom when thunder shook the mansion and the wind picked up.Holding her towel around her body, she hurried towards the windows and closed it before the rain could pour in. The room became chilly and she quickly dried her body and slipped on her night dress.Someone knocked on the door and she turned around, slipping her hands through the sleeves of the dress."Come in."The door opened and Asher stepped in. He took one look at her and froze.Diana's night dress was a bit transparent as she stood under the chandelier, and the curves of her breast were visible. His eyes lowered, slowly taking in the smoothness of her flat tummy, the flair of her hips and her long slender legs."Asher?" Diana whispered. The burning look in his eyes was hard to resist, and she felt her nipples harden. The throbbing between her legs increased and she bit her lips.Asher's eyes darkened with desire and he slowly moved towards her. Diana watched him approach, but did noth
"Are you sure you're okay Ana?" Luna Catherine asked as she pulled the thick duvet over Diana, keeping her warm.Diana smiled. Only her mother called her Ana and it was a pet name that she had grown fond of. "I'm fine, mom," she answered. "I just..."When she trailed off, Luna Catherine sat on the side of the bed and gently stroked her hair."You know you can talk to me," she said with a kind smile. "I'm your mother.""I know," Diana sighed. "I'm just worried. What if I never find my wolf? What if I remain mateless? People would laugh at me, and you and dad would be ashamed. Imagine the daughter of the Alpha and Luna being wolfless and mateless.""Your father and I will never be ashamed of you," Luna Catherine said fiercely. "We love you Diana. Just because you haven't found your wolf doesn't make you any lesser than the others who have. You're kind, and you're special. You're my daughter, a gift from the moon goddess to me. My love for you would never depreciate just because you hav
The moment Diana woke up the next day, she looked towards her side, expecting to see Asher there. He wasn't. So it had been another dream. And like the other dreams, it felt so real. She fell backwards and let out a pleased sigh. Memories of the dream replayed in her mind and she giggled happily. She had never felt this way about her other dreams, so why did she suddenly feel giddy after last night? Was it because last night has been slightly different from the others?"Get a hold of yourself, Diana," she scolded herself and jumped out of the bed. As she made her way to the bathroom, someone knocked."Come in," Two maids walked in holding freshly washed sheets and duvets."Pleasant morning to you, Princess Diana," the maids curtsied respectfully."Pleasant morning to you too," Diana smiled softly at them. "The Alpha and Luna have asked us to inform you that the school wouldn't be open today," Tessa, the blonde maid, spoke softly."Why not?" Diana asked."It is because everyone need
Syrena whirled around and the smile on her face disappeared when she spotted Diana.Axel was stunned, as well her brothers, to see Diana standing there, glaring at Syrena like a furious goddess."What are you doing here?" Syrena asked angrily. "Don't you have something better to do than stalk me?""I could say the same for you," Diana shot back. "Don't you have something better to do than throw yourself at every man you see?"Asher forced out a dry cough, a poor attempt to disguise his laughter while Alden and Axel looked away so they wouldn't give away the amusement on their faces."You know Diana, I think you're overstepping your boundaries here," Syrena slowly moved forward until she was glaring right into Diana's eyes. "Just because you're the Alpha's daughter doesn't mean...""I am the Alpha's daughter," Diana shut her up with a swift comeback. "And that means I am better than you. You're just a crazy shewolf who wants every man to get into her pants.""At least I have a wolf," S
100 years later... Alaric and Catherine had resigned as Alpha and Luna of the pack, leaving it for Alden and his brothers to rule. One fateful day, a new group of werewolves were brought to the pack. Just as it had been done years ago in the time of Alpha Alaric, werewolves who didn't belong to a pack traveled down to the Bloodmoon pack so they could be sworn in as members, and protected from the outside world. After they had sworn their loyalties to the triplets Alphas, the warriors began to group them into pack houses. Alden and his brothers left the beta and gamma to do the job and they left, taking a walk round the pack and making sure everyone was settling in. Suddenly, they perceived a sweet and unique scent. Asher was the first to stop abruptly, and then his brothers followed. "That sweet scent." Alden whispered. They couldn't be mistaken. Only one person had that scent, and they would recognize it anywhere. It was Diana. In the next instant, the triplets shifted into
Alden and his brothers were dumbstruck. It seemed they had seen a ghost. "Diana? Dad?" Asher whispered, unable to believe his eyes. He was terrified that if he blinked, they would disappear. Beside him, Alden and Axel were so still. It was Catherine who finally took a tentative step forward and gently stretched her hand forward. "Alaric," She said softly. "Is it really you?"Alpha Alaric smiled at her gently. Then he looked towards his daughter and gently placed a kiss on her hair. Turning back to his mate, he stepped out of the pool and took her in his arms. "It is, my love." His deep voice caressed her. "I came back to you."Catherine's eyes filled with tears as she touched her mate all over, making sure he was real and not a figment of her imagination. When she realized it was really him standing before her in flesh and blood, she burst into happy tears and threw herself into his arms. "Oh Alaric," She sobbed. "I thought I would never see you again. I was so lost without you
A week had gone by since the death of Alaric and Diana. Bloodmoon pack was deserted. After the war with Astrid, the other creatures had packed up their families and left the pack to the outside world. The Michaelson school lay in ruins. The only people left in the pack were the triplets, Catherine and a few of the warriors.Even after the war they won, things didn't go back to the way they were. The sky remained dark and moonless, and the realm felt like it had been sucked dry of life. Catherine moved about the mansion like a ghost, her face etched with the pain of her lost mate and her daughter. The only reason she didn't take her life were her sons. They were what made her live each day. As for Alden and his brothers, things would never be the same. Diana didn't just die; she took a part of them with her. And though they tried to ignore the pain and pretended like they were okay, deep down, the pain of losing her was all consuming. The days went by seamlessly, until one night,
Alaric slowly climbed to his feet behind Astrid and withdrew the dagger Diana had given to him. The pain he felt was excruciating, but he carefully trudged forward, his eyes intent on Astrid. He had to do it. He had to save everyone before it was too late. It wasn't easy for a father to kill his own child, but as Diana stated earlier, it was the only way. An Alpha had to make difficult decisions, no matter who it would affect. And at that point, destroying Diana's body which was inhabited by Astrid was the only way to save the entire realm. As he got closer to Astrid, Alden sensed him and he raised his head weakly. His gaze focused on Alaric and the moment he saw the dagger, he knew what his father was about to do. Kill Diana. Before he could hold himself, he yelled out unintentionally. "Father no!" Astrid whirled around instantly, her black eyes zeroing in on Alaric. She snarled at him and shot out her arm, sending Alaric flying backwards. "You werewolves never give up." She u
"You have to kill me."Alpha Alaric froze, the color draining from his face. He slowly released Diana, shaking his head in denial. "No," He whispered. "Dad please...""No Diana." Alaric shook his head, his entire body trembling. "How can you ask of something like that from me?""It is the only way." Diana cried out. "Astrid is going to destroy the realm, and she has already succeeded because the moon is gone...""No..." Alaric adamantly refused. "Dad we can't let more innocent people die...""I can't do it Diana!" Alaric suddenly burst out. Then his voice lowered and trembled as he continued. "I can't kill my own child, my own daughter.""So you would let other people die?" Diana whispered. "If Astrid takes over, I'll die. Why not make use of the opportunity and defeat her instead?""Diana, it isn't as easy as you want it to be." Alaric whispered back. There were tears glistening in his eyes, threatening to fall. "I can't kill my own daughter. This is a difficult decision you're as
Immediately the pentagram's connection was severed, Astrid lost control of her powers for a moment. This gave the large wolf an opportunity to tackle her to the ground. "No!" She screamed, struggling to free herself from the wolf above her. The other two wolves stepped out of the pentagram and hurried towards Alden and Asher. "Mother, Axel," Asher called out in a voice filled with relief. Catherine and Axel swiftly shifted into their human forms and loosened the vines holding him and Alden. "How did you know where to find us?" Alden asked, freeing his hands from the vines. "Astrid destroyed the moon. Didn't you feel the pain?""We felt it." Axel answered, grabbing Asher's arm and lifting him up. "I felt like I would die. Mother and Father were down too, until suddenly, the pain disappeared. I don't know how it happened, but I used that opportunity to lead them here.""It was Astrid." Asher replied. He held on to his side as his wound slowly began to heal. "Now that she has destroy
Alpha Alaric jerked awake when he felt the mansion tremble. Besides him, Catherine shot up from the bed, one hand gripping him in fright. "What was that?" She whispered. Again the mansion trembled and shook as if the earth was about to split in two. Without wasting another second, Alaric pushed off the bed and hurried towards the door. "Alaric wait." Catherine called, throwing on her robe and hurrying after him. As they ran through the hallway towards the stairs, the tremor increased until the mansion felt like it was being uprooted from the earth. The chandeliers flickered repeatedly and went off, plunging the mansion into darkness. The warriors hurried up the stairs just as Alaric and Catherine descended. "Alpha...""Henry, what is happening?" Alaric demanded, his voice loud and powerful. "We have no idea Alpha." Henry responded, his voice filled with fear and confusion. "The earth suddenly began to shake. It looks like an earthquake.""Get everyone out of the mansion." Alar
"NO!" Alden roared. "If you dare harm my mate, I will...""What? Kill me?" Astrid taunted him. Her cold smile widened. "Don't you get it Alden? I am not the one who will hurt her. It is you, and everyone else who will try to kill me. Being in the same body with Diana sure has its perks. I have her powers, and her body is under my control. But if you kill me, she'll die."Alden was at a loss of what to do. He couldn't destroy Astrid without losing his mate in the process. He thought everything would be back to normal after Astrid's death. How wrong he was. The battle wasn't over. Astrid looked up to the moon. It was past midnight. She needed to begin the spells. She gazed back at Alden and her smile disappeared, leaving her face cold and dark. "If I were you, I would run back to my parents and warn them of the impending doom. Because the moment I destroy the moon, this pack is going down first."As she turned to leave, Alden made up his mind. He shifted abruptly into his beast and l
"Don't move." Diana's voice reached him. "I have a dagger at your back, and you don't want me to hurt you.""Diana," Alden gasped in surprise. "What are you doing? It's me, Alden.""I know it is you." Diana replied. Keeping the dagger pointed at him, she walked around until she was standing in front of him. There was a slight smile on her lips when she faced him. "Did you really think I wouldn't know you were following me?"Alden tried to smile back, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was definitely wrong. Diana's whole demeanor was off. It was like he was staring at another person. "Where were you going?" He asked. Diana lowered the dagger and stood staring at him. "I couldn't sleep. I needed a walk to clear my head.""You've been acting strangely for days now." Alden voiced out his concerns. Though he appeared relaxed but he was alert to his surroundings. "Since you got your powers back from Astrid...""Did you expect things to go back to the way it was so easily?"
