Chapter 43: Don't bother lying to me

The entire study room was plunged in silence after Freya finished her story.

Seeing that they were still trying to take in everything she just narrated, Freya smiled softly.

"I know this is sudden, and I had no right to leave her here, but I had no choice." She said. "I was hurt from the battle I had with the rogue. I couldn't risk taking Diana with me. I needed a way to protect her."

"Did the rogue do that to you?" Alpha Alaric asked, pointing to the scar on her face.

Freya grazed the scar with her finger tips, remembering the day of the intense battle she had with the rogue, years ago. She had been lucky to escape with her life.

"Yes," she nodded. "The day I left Diana here, I was half blind. My eye was damaged, and I was losing a lot of blood. I knew this was a werewolf pack, so I used a spell to hide my presence. I had to stay as far away from her as I could, so he would not be able to find her."
