Trying to protect you

Winter's POV:

Although I had agreed not to go to the Luna event, my gut told me that Slade was keeping something from me, and I was determined to uncover it. However, given the current situation, I doubted that Slade would be pleased if he learned about my snooping.

The only person who'd be able to answer my questions was Jude because he was always with Slade.

Walking into the meeting hall, I approached Jude with a smile, but he furrowed his brows in confusion.

Lisa, noticing my presence, spoke up. "My lady, I thought you were resting today," she said.

"I can stretch my legs whenever I want," I replied, shrugging off her comment.

Then she sighed and stood to her feet. "Do you need me?" She asked. "I was hoping for the day off."

"It's your day off, Lisa. I won't need you," I said, rolling my eyes. "Instead, I'll need Jude."

"Why?" Jude and Lisa asked simultaneously.

Lisa shot Jude a suspicious look, causing him to throw his hands up in confusion.
