Oh, my moon goddess!

He was fucking hot. The hottest werewolf I had ever seen and come across!

My eyes raked the strong muscle on his stomach, and my hand itched to caress them and see if it was as complicated as it seemed.

I swallowed the hard lump that formed in my throat and glanced away briefly as I felt him staring at me.

"Hey, you are awake." He murmured.

"So are you," I muttered, walking by him. As soon as I got to the refrigerator, my grip tightened on the metal handle.

I couldn't open it to get what I wanted due to his presence.

Slade was beside me, and I could feel his skin's temperature engulfing me.

He must have taken a hot bath. It was frigid here, unlike my previous home, where it was often warm.

I wanted to steal a glance at him. To see what he was doing as he leaned over the counter. But I couldn't!

I shouldn't!

I hastily poured myself a glass of water and walked to my room while reminding myself he was my brother. And, of course, I shouldn't have such thoughts about him.

But then, I couldn't help it; even as it was weird, I thought of him in that manner.

For a long time, I lay on the bed in my room, tossing and muttering. I had attempted to force myself to sleep several times, but it didn't work. Nothing was working, and somehow, the thought of Slade buck naked kept pushing itself back into my head.

Each time I freaking shut my eyes, I saw him. I doubt I'd have a great night's sleep today. I'd indeed have more nasty thoughts after seeing him in that manner.

.

.

The following day, I woke up early and freshened up. I wanted to make a first impression by arriving at school early, but at the back of my mind, I knew the thought of Slade contributed to it.

I had stayed awake for a while with his thought dancing about in my head before my alarm rang.

Somehow, I felt irritated I couldn't concentrate on something else rather than on him.

It would have been a lot better if it was not a forbidden thought.

Shaking my head, I shoved back the thoughts while wearing the skinny blue jean and pink chiffon polka dot top I had picked the day before(The new school didn't have a particular uniform, and I was grateful for that.) I slung my backpack across my shoulder before walking out of the room.

I sighted Summer in the kitchen with a plate filled with pancakes.

"Good morning," I said, flashing her a smile, but she didn't return the smile or the greeting.

Shrugging, I gripped a red ceramic plate to fill with the pancake in the cooler.

Summer slapped my hand and shoved me away.

I stumbled but didn't fall. Also, I was lucky to have had a tight grip on the plate else it would have shattered.

I stared at her with raised brows, and she glared at me.

"You don't deserve to eat what I made. So fucking make your food because I am not your maid!"

"You shouldn't say that, Summer. She's your sister, and you should be glad she's eating from what you cook because she appreciates you." Luna Ashley said as soon as she appeared.

But Summer shook her head in disagreement, and I shrugged. If I knew she made the food, I wouldn't have bothered to try to take out of it.

For all I knew, she could have added something to the portion I wanted.

I quickly made my pancake as well since it was the fastest thing that would not delay me; I served myself and Luna Ashley since she insisted on tasting what I made.

"This is amazing, Winter," Luna Ashley said as she took a bite. She hummed, closing her eyes.

I flushed, averting my gaze. "Thank you."

I doubted if was that good. Maybe she was trying to be nice. But then again, I was a decent cook. I did all my cooking back at home. I didn't have the privileged of eating out all the time since we were practically poor, and I was trying to save money as well.

So, it wouldn't be wise to spend on junk when I could cook healthy food.

Slade strolled into the kitchen. His golden brown hair was in disarray, and he ran a hand through it, ruffling it more. "Morning, everyone!"

"Morning," I mumbled and heard everyone say the same.

I glanced away from him as I remembered last night. Then brushed off the thought as soon as I noticed him stack his plate with the pancake I had made.

"Fúck!" He exclaimed.

A hot brother who could cuss and make it sound sexy... It wasn't what I saw every day.

Slade was everything and maybe more. I didn't know, and I didn't want to dwell too much on the thought of him as well.

"Language, Slade!" Luna Ashley cautioned with a glare.

"Shít, I am sorry!" He flashed an apologetic smile toward Luna Ashley, and she rolled her eyes.

"I can't help it, mom. This is heaven, and I didn't expect my sister's cooking to be this good!"

Shyly, I lowered my head and flushed. Shít, I didn't bargain to be complimented like this, and I doubted Summer would like it.

But I shouldn't care about how she felt, right?

As soon as I was done eating breakfast, I was set and waited for the chauffeur who'd be conveying us to school.

He was a polite middle age man, and I believed I could get along with him.

When we got to the school, everything seemed somewhat foreign to me. I guessed with time, I needed to accept the daily training of the pack, which involved learning theoretical knowledge in the morning, combat training in the afternoon, and so on.

I had barely received systematic education, and all knowledge was taught to me by my omega parents.

Moreover, I learned some things myself, like reading books in my spare time and learning some simple crafts that would be useful.

I clutched my backpack tighter as a paper plane zigzagged through my head.

"Sorry, newbie!" Someone yelled, and others giggled.

I guess they all knew I was the new girl.

Who wouldn't?

I looked lost and so out of place.

When I got to the classroom, all eyes stayed on me.

I fidgeted slightly under their scrutiny as I stayed beside the teacher, waiting for him to introduce me to the class and point to where I'd be sitting for the whole session.

Instead, Summer stood to her feet and cleared her throat. She tapped her hand on the table, perhaps to get everyone's attention on her, and she snapped her fingers.

"My sister here..." Her lip turned down in disgust, and she wrinkled her nose before continuing. "She got transferred from another school and should also take the test we all did."

I gazed around the classroom to see everyone nodding to what she said.

I didn't know anything about a test, and no one told me else I'd have gotten prepared. Was some string pulled to get me in?

"If not, she must fight with me to show she's worth entering our class." Summer continued. "Although we are the Alpha's children, we should abide by the regulations of the pack and the school. If she doesn't win, she needs to leave the school."

The class fell silent, and I stared at her in bewilderment. She wanted me to fight her?! How the hell was I supposed to face her off without proper training?!

I guessed the teacher sensed my dilemma, and he shook his head.

Summer ignored him and went on. "I believe my sister will not lose face to our family as an Alpha daughter."

"Sure," I mumbled before I could help myself.

I was freaking accepting her challenge when I knew it would be easy for her to punch and beat me into a pulp!

Yet, I was not one to give up. Of course, I didn't know the outcome of what would happen, but I would do my best.

We were led to the training centre, which was a different place but still in the school environment. It was a large open space area surrounded by several bleachers.

The whole class had come to the training field to watch us fight.

I didn't know who they rooted for, but I was sure it was Summer.

My twin stood by Summer's side and whispered something in her ear. I didn't know what he said, but he seemed to support her all the time.

For someone that was my twin and supposed to act the way I did, he was very far different from me. And I didn't think he liked me too.

"Start!" The teacher yelled and blew a whistle.

Summer rushed towards me swiftly and tackled me to the ground. I didn't have enough time to dodge her attack as I planned what to do with her.

She stood to her feet and kicked my stomach, I was sent flying across the field, and my body slammed into a wall.

I gasped out as I felt my bone break, and I coughed out blood.

I gritted my teeth and stood to my feet. Of course, I wasn't giving up easily. I couldn't.

I didn't want to lose face and be tagged as a loser aside from being the Alpha's daughter.

Summer cackled and rushed at me as soon as I was standing. She gripped me effortlessly from the ground and swirled me in the air before tossing me towards the wall again.

Fúck!

This time, she didn't wait for me to get to my feet. Summer kicked me in several places, including my head, ignoring the fact that I could pass out or have concussions due to the assault.

I attempted to dodge her attack as well, but how could a daughter of an omega who spent her life working beat an Alpha's daughter that had been professionally trained?

I possibly wouldn't do any damage to her if I were given a chance.

Summer kicked me over again, and I groaned. My eyes rolled into my head, but I was very much alive. I wished I could pass out, but for some reason, something was keeping me active.

I heard a voice in my head. It was tiny, and I could have missed it because of the crowd roar.

But somehow, it sounded really sharp and pierced through my eardrums.

"Hi!"

The Luna Ashley and Alpha Charles of the Royal moon pack had adopted me out of the several children that lined the pack's orphanage I was in.I wasn't the best, but they had taken a liking to me, and maybe luck contributed to it. Moreover, I was adopted because they couldn't have a child and needed an heir. So, they took me in without looking back.I was given the best to make myself as comfortable as possible, and never for once had I felt out of place in the household. • Fated To My Lycan Brother   My brother is my mate?

WINTER POVHow was this possible? Was my brother my mate? We were supposed to be related and not mated!Perhaps there was a mistake somewhere. I hadn't heard of cases like this. It was the first time I saw it, and I wouldn't say I particularly appreciated it happening to me.I wish there were a written manual on 'how to deal with your brother as a mate'.But I guess I was on my own.'He's hot, isn't he? And he's strong! You both will make cute pups!'I shook my head, shoving the thoughts of Flora out of my head. I know I'd get some someday, but that would be when I advanced in age. WINTER POVI saw the stupid grin plastered on Summer's face, and she tilted her upturned nose in the air as she neared. The other girls with her might be her clones, I presumed. They had the same blonde hair, and I could see some weren't even natural. They had dyed it just to fit in.Their make-up was perfect, and it was as if they had an exceptional stylist and make-up artist who attended to them. Their dress was overly short.I noticed none of the pink plaid skirts they wore reached their knees.I had seen girls like them in Lanes Academy, the school I attended in the Silver Moon Pack. They tormented many people, especially if you weren't part of the popular crowds, and they were called the elite girls.I guess they were not any different from Summer and her friends.Summer snatched the book I had picked and tutted. "Look, if it isn't my Omega sister. Besides, why are you reading this kind of book? Do you still need to read books? I can't believe you are as dull as I imagined."Summe

WINTER POVWhy would he be here?!I guess there wasn't a rule that said he couldn't.But I wasn't okay with seeing him. At least, for now!I was hoping it would take a while before we'd see each other again, and perhaps, I would have had an answer to the question swirling in my head about our mate bond.My heart palpitated as Slade walked towards us. My hands clenched the tulle material of the ball gown, and my palms were clammy.Since today I haven't seen him until now. But somehow, I doubted his coming here had anything to do with me.'Mate!' Flora whimpered. She jumped inside me, and I grimaced, holding a tight rein on her before she tore herself out of me.Because what she was doing at the moment could warrant that.Yet, how the fúck was my wolf excited about my mate, and it was the opposite for me?I dreaded it!'He's near, and he's so hot!'I shoved back the thought of Flora rambling and concentrated on him. Slade was near the Luna, and I could hear everything they were saying.

  • Fated To My Lycan Brother   I hate her

WINTERAfter dress shopping two days ago, I avoided Summer like the plague, or maybe she ignored me, but I was glad I didn't see her.I had had enough of her antics to want to put up with more. Also, I was glad I finally got to take the dress of my choice, even though she didn't like it."A penny for your thoughts?"I cringed and gasped. And my eyes strayed to Slade as he appeared at my back. "Fúck it, Slade. I hate that!""You cuss too?" He tilted perfect slender brows. The most flawless brow I had ever seen and the one I wouldn't get even if I tried. Also, Slade had ridiculously long lashes for a man."Am I not allowed to?" Slade tapped his chin and shook his head. His eyes narrowed again on mine, and he continued staring at me until I was uncomfortable."I hate when you do that," I grumbled."Do what?" He murmured."Stare at me and act as if you are trying to figure me out or something...""What if I am trying to figure you out?" He muttered. "We are meant to be together. Don't you

Did I do something wrong?"Your smile makes me want to give you everything in this world!"I giggled. I liked his response, and I knew he was flirting with me as soon as he said that.He extended a gloved hand and bowed slightly. "Can I have the next dance? That's if you don't mind me stealing you away after that."I opened my mouth to speak, and the word died in my throat as Slade butted in."She does mind. Slade's POVI shifted uneasily, knowing I shouldn't be in this form. I couldn't help it, though. I didn't want to be the defenceless alpha who always relied on his Luna for help. Even though I had always fought my battles, I felt like most people saw me as weak, barely capable of doing anything.I locked eyes with Damien, and we exchanged growls. But deep down, I almost regretted it. My heart pounded, wildly beating against my rib cage. Being in wolf form made everything even more challenging for me.I turned my gaze towards Winter. Despite being held by Gloria, it seemed like she could free herself from the situation. She looked furious, and I knew most of that anger was directed at me, while the rest was aimed at her ex and his mother."You need to shift back," Winter snarled, her frustration evident. "She said you'll die!"Gloria only laughed in response. I wished I could wipe the grin off her face and make her pay for everything. Pay for killing Britney, especially, and taking my

WINTER POVI had always known that many things could go wrong in one night, but I never imagined it would be this same night. First, the forest became infested with reptiles, making the hunt scarier than I had anticipated. Despite thinking we could manage the situation, the hunters appeared, Slade, got bitten, and now Gloria and Damien had arrived.I never thought I would find myself in a situation like this, struggling in the death grip of the woman who was once my mother-in-law. The last time I saw her, after Slade's victory, she even tried to console my mother. I believed she had our best interests at heart. But learning that she had impersonated people to reach and kill me turned my stomach.I used to admire her and thought she was the perfect Luna, but the crazed look in her eyes just moments ago shattered that illusion. Gasping for breath, I felt her yank harder on my hair. I desperately tried to grip her hand and release her hold, but it only tightened."Fucking shift and kill

I bellowed.Winter gasped, her eyes shifting to mine as I hunched over. She approached me and reached out a hand to touch my back, but I shrugged her off."I'm fine," I said, narrowing my eyes. "Why the hell did you let him kiss you like that?!""I let him?" She asked, brows furrowing. As I nodded, she exclaimed, "You saw he forcefully kissed me! I never asked to be kissed, but he did it against my will. So, don't blame me for not reacting quickly—I was taken by surprise!"Of course, I wasn't blaming her, and I wasn't angry with her. "The poison will spread faster when you shift, and you'll shift sooner than you think."Slade glanced at me and shook his head. "I'm not like the other werewolves, remember? I'm partly a lycan, so I can control my shifting to some extent until the hunt is over."I let out a frustrated breath. No matter what I said or would say, he remained stubborn. I supposed I needed to stay close to him to prevent impulsive actions. Just then, Jude burst into the clearing, growling, and lunged at the hunter's leader next to me before I could stop him.He landed several punches on the leader's face, only stopping to catch his breath."Jude!" I mean, the group of Lycans who fought with the previous Alpha and led him to sacrifice himself?"He nodded grimly. "And we had our reasons for coming after the MoonStone gem." He added, "But we are not the same as those. We belong to a different faction, known as the Bwegbonyu speakers and night hunters. Lastly, we weren't the ones who originally attacked the previous alpha.""This isn't making any sense," Slade voiced my confusion, and I nodded to indicate my agreement."I think we need to explain further. But first, you must understand that we are not the Vordrak Lycans. They pose a threat to everyone in the werewolf world, as well as humans. WINTER'S POVTWO DAYS LATERThe moon hung high in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the surrounding forest. The anticipation among the Moonstone pack members present was palpable; their breaths came out in shallow huffs as they crouched low to the ground. It was hunting season, and today marked the Moonfest, as it was often called in the Moonstone pack. It was the Hunters Moon festival, and it was a time which happened every October after the harvest moon disappearance. The hunter's moon was the first full moon to have appeared this month, and the festival was a thrilling and transformative nighttime event that showcased the werewolves' connection to the moon and their hunting prowess. I didn't know how it was done in other packs, but Traditionally, only the Deltas and Etas, the warriors of our pack, were allowed to participate. However, Slade's arrival changed everything.Today, we were embarking on something different. Instead of limiting participation to the Deltas and Eta
