“We should do this more often.” Lucille purred teasingly.

“You wish.” I scoffed as I got up before heading to the bathroom.

But she didn't know when to give me a break and yelled behind me. “Listen, I know you might feel bad about not finding your mate yet, but you don't have to take it out on me!” She paused, before adding. “Wait… you haven't found your mate yet, right?”

I groaned silently in frustration. Nobody was going to find out about Nimue and me… especially not blabber mouth Lucille here. I'll just ignore the mate bond until I find a way to break its constraints and move on.

“No, I haven't Lucille,” I replied begrudgingly. “Now, quit questioning me and get ready to bathe. Except if you want me to throw you outside so you can go back to your place.”
