WILLIAM'S POV
I was worried about Miranda, I hadn't seen her the whole day and I was concerned that her meeting with my father had not gone the way we had expected it to go. I knew from experience that my father could be very unpredictable especially when it came to Tomas.
I understood his position, I knew that his first priority was the pack's wellness but sometimes I wished he could just put me first. Putting the pack's wellness first often meant that he would put Tomas first and that just bothered me, but it had never bothered me as much as it bothered me now. All I could hope for was that my father hadn't scared Miranda away by being too pushy.
I trusted Miranda to choose me in everything but I knew that decision would not come without opposition from my father and Tomas. Sometimes I just felt like it was me against them.
TOMAS'S POVMiranda had been missing for a few days now and I was getting more and more restless how could she leave without telling anyone where she was going? I was worried that the drama in my family had proved to be too much for her and she had decided to leave us. I was also angry that she had clearly left because she didn't want to be with me, I had never been rejected in my life before so this was a new feeling. It was more insulting because I was getting rejected by an omega, who the fuck did Miranda think she was?On the other hand, I was a little relieved that she wasn't here, it was clear that the throne was now open to anyone and I honestly didn't understand my father's reasoning. Why would he make a female Omega the alpha of the most powerful pack in the East? Miranda was weak and she didn't have what it took to be an Alpha the fact th
MIRANDA'S POVSeeing Tomas's face when I announced that he would be working for a 'mere human being' was more satisfying than I ever expected it to be. However, his father's reaction was the one that was more shocking, I never expected the king to allow me to do as I pleased with his son, the heir to the throne. It took a lot to convince Ms. Caroline to allow Tomas to work with her after all the stories that I had told her about him. She only agreed because I promised her that William and I would be there with her all the way and I had to tell her the biggest lie when she asked me why I wanted Tomas to work for her.I told her that he was eager to prove to me that he had changed and he was willing to do anything for me to give him another chance. I told her a rich man like Tomas had never really worked hard in his life and he had always belittled t
WILLIAM'S POVAfter having my conversation with Miranda I was a little upset at my father for burdening her with his problems with Tomas. I just couldn't understand why he would ask her to help him change Tomas even though he probably knew that there was no way that Tomas could ever change. Make no mistake I fully blamed my father for the type of person that Tomas was, I would never say he failed as a parent but in essence, he had. Tomas was ill-mannered and very selfish and I just couldn't understand how teaching him manners was suddenly Miranda's responsibility. I felt like this was just another delay tactic that my father was using to maybe get me to walk away from Miranda and give up.My father seemed to be making a lot of questionable decisions ever since I came back with Miranda and at first, I was convinced that he was on Tomas's side and he
MIRANDAS POVWhen I woke up the following day I was a little excited about what the day held for us. William seemed to be coming around to the idea of us going back to Ms. Caroline with Tomas. I knew and understood that his greatest fear was that I would lose myself while in the quest for revenge and that I would also end up ruining a relationship that we were both trying to build. But that was not my intention at all, I knew I had to keep my eye on the price and that price was finally being free of Tomas, but I felt like I should be allowed to have a little fun in the process of acquiring that price.I woke up extra early just to get myself ready because I intended to enjoy every minute of this week starting today. I knew I was probably going to be the only one who was going to be jolly but I didn't care, I was finally getting what I wanted
TOMAS POVI couldn’t actually believe that I was here and that I had agreed to do this, but it wasn’t like I had been given much of a choice. My father practically placed my whole life and future in Miranda’s hands and the worst of it all was that Miranda was taking pleasure in ruining my life. It was no secret that Miranda despised me and she had made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with me. What angered me the most was the fact that my own father seemed to have switched up on me and he was now on her side. The fact that she extended an invitation to Cindy to come and witness my humiliation felt like she was trying to tell me that there was more coming and that was just the tip of the iceberg. I had clearly underestimated her and I was now realizing that it was now too late for me to change my mind and go back home. If I w
WILLIAM'S POVI had almost forgotten what I loved most about this little town. But when I saw how the neighbors cared for each other I remembered exactly what had made me all in love with it when I first got here. It was so good to see Ms. Caroline again and it was funny how this old human lady had now become like a second mother to me and she had gone out of her way to make sure that I felt at home in her house. To top it all off, Miranda was in her best mood when she was here and I could see why she would come back here when she was at a crossroads in her life.“ok, now you guys will do the dishes while Miranda and I figure out the sleeping arrangements. I have three bedrooms in this house. One obviously belongs to Miranda and the other one used to be an office for my late husband so it’s considerably small.” She said as she wal
MIRANDAS POVIt wasn’t my intention to torture Tomas at every given opportunity but not only did he make it hard not to, he also put himself in positions that deserved punishment. Tomas had to learn that he didn't call the shots around here and that no one was just going to jump simply because he said so.The room that I wanted to give to William was originally prepared for both of them but after I walked into the kitchen and found Tomas sitting and relaxing while William did all the dishes and even cleaned up the kitchen I was infuriated by it. It seemed that Tomas felt like everyone around him was meant to be a slave to him, like we owed him everything he thought he deserved and wanted. It was like when my parents gave birth to me it was specifically for the purpose of serving Tomas and it was as if the same applied to William.“How can he sleep with you if we are both here for the same purpose of winning to your heart?” Tomas asked as I led William up the stairs to our room and I s
MIRANDA'S POVI had been so anxious to find out how Tomas's day with Ms. Caroline went. At first, I was a little bit worried for Ms. Caroline because she had to be alone with Tomas, the same wolf that had threatened to kill everyone in this little town if I didn't do things his way, but William convinced me that there was nothing to worry about because Tomas had a lot to lose if he did anything to ms Caroline. The king would make sure that Tomas got punished if he did anything to that defenseless old woman and I would make sure of it.I could never forgive myself if anything ever happened to Ms. Caroline because I had been the one who placed her in danger by convincing her to allow Tomas to stay with her. I had allowed the drama that was in my life to spill over into her life and I knew it would be my fault if anything happened to her no matter how much I would blame Tomas for it.“how do you think Tomas performed today? you know it was his first day at work” I asked William as I prep
ELIZABETH'S POV“Did you really have to be that rude Liam?” I asked“Lizzy sometimes you tend to be too kind and too trusting” he snapped and he was right but I really believed that Ashley was being genuine I could see the grief and the pain in her eyes. Her father might have been a bad influence in her life but she was clearly fond of him and she loved him very much.“I know that but I think we should have been nicer to her,” I said“if we had been even a little nicer to her she would have asked us if we could let her sleep since it was already dark and she would have asked if it was ok if she slept with us in the same room and in the middle,” he said and I laughed, now he was just exaggerating“Just stop Liam,” I said through my laughs and he joined me“I am serious they say once bitten twice shy and trust me I have been bitten by Ashley so I am not allowing her to fool me so easily this time, so you need to stop trusting people that you shouldn’t trust and stop being so easily fool
ELIZABETH’S POVThe following day I woke up feeling very tired and I was feeling like I had spent the night running a marathon. Liam told me that I had passed out right after drinking the wolfsbane and that he had to carry me home after that. I was glad that we were done with the crowning part of the rituals and now the next thing would be for Liam to drink the wolfsbane.I didn’t understand why Liam had to do that because he was already part of the pack and therefore he had no former tied to break and I also felt like there was no need for him to prove his loyalty to the pack because they already knew him. He explained to me that he wouldn’t be swearing his loyalty to the pack only but also to me. and he said that the ritual was going to be important in proving that his intentions for the pack were not selfish and we're nothing like what his father had done. When I woke up I had to attend to Ryan who had grown a lot in the past couple of days and he was now crawling, I just couldn’t
ELIZABETH'S POVThere was a note that was left on a rock and Liam recognized the handwriting as his father’s, the message on the note was that he would wait for us in the mansion since we wanted to be pack leaders and live in the mansion so badly.Liam, Anthony, and I immediately turned and started running to the mansion immediately, none of us cared that our clothes were ripped off as we turned. Liam and I just wanted our baby back and Anthony was just after his mate. At this point, we were all aware that Liam’s father was a danger even to his own children and he had to be stopped from causing any more harm to anyone else.We raced to the mention afraid that we could be too late and Liam’s father could have done something to Anna and the baby. The thought of him hurting my baby just made me angry and made my feet very much lighter. I got to the mansion first and I immediately spotted Liam’s father in the garden with the baby in his arms and Anna was tied
Liam's POVAfter dinner, we all went to our separate rooms and I was very happy to finally have Liam all to myself. There was a lot I wanted to discuss with him and most of it involved his father and I couldn’t hold out any longer.“Baby, are you ok?” I asked“Yes why?” he asked as he put on his pajamas“I mean I just killed your father and I would understand if you need a little time to mourn his death,” I said sitting on the huge king-sized bed.“Lizzy are you feeling bad about what happened?” he asked and I wasn’t sure how to respond to that question, of course, I felt guilty about killing his dad despite his crimes. If I felt nothing after killing him that would mean that I was exactly like him.“a little bit, I mean your father had it coming that’s no doubt but that doesn’t make me feel any better about the fact that I killed him and the impact of what his death did to you and I wouldn’t blame you if you felt some type of way about the way
LIAM’S POVWe stayed up the whole night listening to Denis as he filled us in on the plans that my father had for us. We had to keep in mind that they probably didn’t tell him everything out of fear that he would come and give that information back to us. What I didn’t understand until now was why Anthony had decided to join us and not run his small pack himself, I mean he was next in line to be Alpha after all. Their presence here with us made me very uncomfortable but I also had to admit that we needed them, but there was no way that I was going to agree with Lizzy if she decided to let them stay here for good. After Denis told us everything we needed to know we had to change the plan of our plans because they already knew our plan of attack. Lizzy was right when she said that she would heal herself and be strong enough to fight, as I watched her take the lead in the plans I could see that she was a natural-born leader and that was probably the reason why she cou
LIAM’S POVI woke up in the middle of the night to find the bed empty on Lizzy’s side. I knew that she had been restless because I allowed the wolves from the diamond pack to stay with us but I had to think on my feet and it was best that we had them with us rather than with my father. They probably chose to come to us because they were impressed that Lizzy had killed their Alpha. Even after I had accepted their request to join us, I was still worried about the true intentions of their new Alpha, Anthony had been known to idolize his father and I knew that he probably wanted to seek revenge against us.The only thing I could do now was to make sure I keep an eye on them and make sure they never got up to any good or even tried to betray us, as hard as that was going to prove to be.I got out of bed and started searching for Sabina around the house and she was not there, I even went to Anna’s room and she wasn’t there. I thought maybe she was in her mother’s room as she n
Elizabeth's Pov The following day Liam, Anna, and I woke up a little late because we were all tired from the events of the previous day. We were not going to be getting any form of rest for the next coming days because of all the training that we had to do. Liam woke up and went to the mansion to meet with the elders and his father because he had to find out when they planned for this challenge to take place.Anna and I prepared the backyard for all the wolves that were going to come for the training. It was a pure blessing that my mother had chosen a corner house with the biggest backyard that was big enough to accommodate a lot of wolves. I still couldn’t believe that all those wolves had actually chosen my side and I didn’t even know most of them. But I assumed that they chose me because they already knew and trusted Liam and they were like his followers. After we were done preparing the grounds for training Liam returned from the meeting and he seemed like he h
LIAM'S POVI had known from the day that I found out that Lizzy was the rightful heir to the throne and the rightful Alpha queen that there were things that she would have to do and I wouldn’t be a part of them. I knew that she was more powerful than I was and that all the Alpha duties that I had been training for my whole life would be taken over by her. But right now I felt like a wimp and I found myself struggling to find my place in the entire kingdom.Don’t get me wrong I wanted the best for Lizzy and I felt insulted when she suggested that I was power-hungry and motivated by my hunger for power. For her to say that was like her saying that I was like my father and that I would easily kill and take someone’s life simply because I wanted to be in charge of the pack. But imagine growing up and being prepared for one thing only to grow and realize that that thing you were being trained for was never yours, to begin with, having Lizzy as my mate made it easie
LIAM’S POVI wasn’t in full support of Lizzy tying our lives to that of the pack but I had to trust that she had a plan. I knew she was probably right when she said that the elders were up to no good. There was an upside to all this and the upside was that if they had any intentions of purposely placing her life in danger along with mine, she had successfully destroyed that plan. When we got home, Lizzy and I were both so tired that we just headed straight for bed and fell asleep immediately. We were supposed to catch the other pack by surprise and attack them before they attacked us. The plan was that we would meet at around three in the morning and then we would all run to the neighboring pack. The elders said that they had gotten a letter that we would be attacked anytime during that day. My main concern was that the pack would be attacked when we were gone and there would be no one left to defend those that were going to be left behind. Beta John told me that a few
