Chapter 6
Cassie POV
It take a whole forty-eight hours before we finally arrive at the country we were heading to. At some point in the journey, I was wondering if we are still on earth or have gone to another planet. You won't blame me, right? That was the longest journey of my life.
We finally arrive at the strange place, and I must confess that I feel so weird being here. Strangely, we didn't take a single belonging from the mansion and it's kind of driving me crazy now. What the heck is going on? As much as I want to feed my curiosity and ask questions, I dare not to. Just the look on the mysterious man's face sends shivers down my spine. I wonder what his name is.
As the car drives down the road, I keep observing the area as I stare out through the window. Unlike other places that are filled with houses, this place is strangely filled with nothing, but plants and wild animals. I cringe when I see a deer.
As the car drives farther in the rough and bushy route, my hope of seeing at least a house keeps shattering, because the farther we go, the thicker it becomes. I need no one to tell me that we are in the woods already, but what we're doing in such a place is what I can't seem to understand. Looking at everyone else in the car turns out that I am the only one getting disturbed about our journey. The rest of them look calm as though nothing weird is happening. This is becoming scary.
After almost an hour of going farther and farther into the thick forest, or should I say woods? The car finally stops at a spot and I wonder if something has happened to the car or if they are going to throw me into the woods and go their way. As much as I want to be calmed, I can't help the tons of questions that keep parading my mind and it keeps driving me crazy and making me scared.
"Come on, Cassie. Come down," Madam Leila's soft voice brings me back to reality, and that is when I notice that she is holding the door open for me. I force a faint smile and step out of the car. There are horses tied to trees.
"What's going on?" I finally whisper to Madam Leila, since she's the only one I can talk to.
"We're about to head home from here," She replies to me, and I pull a puzzled look. As much as I want to ask further questions, I decided to be patient and watch the next thing that is going to happen.
"Come on," She nudges my arm, walking toward one of the horses and that is when I realize that everyone else has climbed the horse each, except for the two of us. Gulping down the lump in my throat, I drag my feet behind her until she gets to the horse and unties the rope from the tree. She climbs it swiftly like the pro she is. She is skilled at this, maybe she must've been doing it for a long time.
"Come here," The ever-cold voice sounds through my ears, bringing me to an abrupt halt. I gulp down nothing as I turn around and walk over to him. He helps me climb the same horse as him.
"Hold me firmly," He says in his usual cold voice and I gulp down the lump in my throat. I wrap my trembling hands around his waist and weird sensations shoot through me. The ride was fun.
After a few minutes, the horse rides into a magnificent building and that is when it dawns on me that we are in another place different from other parts of the country. Just the sight of it, tells me that there is something about the place which is weird.
"Alpha," A young lady calls as she walks over to us elegantly, having an exciting smile dancing on her lips. She looks like she has missed this man so much and has been looking forward to seeing him. But wait! What did she just call him? Alpha? As in alpha of wolves? That's not possible.
"Leila, you know what to do," He says to Madam Leila before walking away, ignoring the young lady that called him. This place looks weird and I wonder what is going on. Since Madam Leila is kind of nice to me, I think she'll answer some questions for me later.
"Come with me," She says to me, walking away while I follow her. She leads me through the veranda that has pillars and turns out that the building isn't just an ordinary one, but a castle. How the heck did my life ended up like this?
I trail behind her until she gets to the last point in the veranda and takes another turn, leading me to God knows where. After walking for what seemed like forever, she finally stops in front of an old wooden door, which looks more like the doors I see in ancient movies, mostly in castles. I can't help wondering if we traveled back in time or something, because this is confusing.
"This will be your room," She says to me, and I glance at her confusingly, taking my gaze to the door afterward. As much as I need someone to explain what is going on, as much as I have so many questions to ask, I just need to be calmed first. I can ask all the questions I want later.
"I'll leave you now," She smiles at me before she finally saunters out of the room. I stare at her till she is out of sight. Letting out a brief sigh, I push the door open, earning a creaking sound from it. It seems like it has been a long time since the door was opened.
Peeking inside the room, I grimace at the sight I behold. The room looks so dirty and dusty. Broken pieces of furniture are littering the floor. God! How am I supposed to clean this up?...
Chapter 7"You didn't have to do that, my lord," One of the old werewolves utters, bowing respectfully.Alpha Damien is sitting on his throne, having a meeting with all the members of the palace castle. Over the years, although alpha Damien may be someone feared by people, if there's one thing he cherishes the most, it is the cooperation of his people, and he dims it fit to listen to them, no matter how difficult it seems to be for him. He's a very understanding alpha."Yes, my lord. Lord Luther is right. Who knows, maybe this young lady is innocent. I know you're angry and seeking vengeance, but don't you think it's better to be sure of everything before you take any action?" Another one stands up and utters, while alpha Damien keeps staring into space, listening to them one after the other."We're not even sure if she's the daughter of the beta," Another one shrug."I have been patient for over twenty years, and I can't take it anymore. That bastard betrayed my father, impregnated,
Cassie POVHis question takes me by surprise and I just stand staring at him confusingly. How am I supposed to know what he's talking about? He was the one that bought me and brought me here, how is it possible that he's suddenly asking me this? Judging from the look on his face, he doesn't look like everything is fine, and I'm beginning to get nervous already."Who is your father?" His words echo in my head again, and I gulp down nothing. He only asked me a question, but I feel like there's more to the question he asked, and I'm already getting all nervous."My...my father? He...he's Mr. Robert," Even if I want to be bold, being around him is enough to make me nervous. I feel my heart beating fast as if it's going to pop out of my chest anytime soon. Why do I feel like everything is not fine?I watch as he stares at me for seconds with an unexplainable expression on his face, but even if it isn't written on his face what the problem is, I can see clearly that something awful is going
Chapter 9Her heart skips a million times at the sight of the cologne. She open her mouth to talk, but words failed her. The cologne was given to her by her dad years ago, but he never told her what it's used for. He had told her to always apply it on her skin and also keep it safe, so no one would ever see it.Back then when her dad had given that to her, she was suspicious but she never dared to ask him any questions, regarding the cologne. For someone that hated her from birth, giving her cologne as a gift was something that seems to be impossible, that was what gave her the impression that there was more to the cologne than her dad had told her. Seeing the dark expression and anger on the alpha's face, she knows that there's a problem, and whatever the problem is, has got something to do with the cologne her father gifted her.She picks it up with her trembling hands and holds on to it tightly. For years, she has cherished the cologne, because it's the only gift her father ever ga
These past few days have been hell on earth for me. I have been made to labor in the castle, I have been literally turned into a slave, doing one work or the other, and it's already driving me crazy. Madam Leila has visited me secretly whenever she can, so my stay here isn't entirely boring. How I'm suffering for the crimes my father committed, is still a puzzle I'm yet to know how to solve. I've also been trying to weigh the possibility of me being a werewolf, but I just can't still believe that. It's horrible to even think about. The thought of everything Madam Leila had told me earlier, came replaying in my head. 'If you want to survive here, you have to obey the law. This place is not like every other place where you're free to do what you want. I am telling you this because I like you a lot and I do not want you to get hurt' her words have been ringing in my head since she told me that.'For the next two weeks, you have to stay in your room, I will attend to you and you'll be inf
His image slowly fades away and she snaps her eyes open to find herself lying on the cold floor of the prison. It was a dream all along. A drop of tears slid down her cheeks as she crawls back and rests her head on the wall, hugging her knees to herself. Her whole body is cold and her body is already getting numb. The prison is cold and her body is almost shivering, but there are no clothes to cover her and protect her from the cold that keeps penetrating her bones. She sighs deeply as her mind wanders off to what happened yesterday. She still can't believe what the alpha had told her about her being a werewolf. It's hard to believe. She has been living all her life believing that werewolves are supernatural creatures that only existed in series, but it never occurred to her that they are really existing and even if she wanted to give that a thought and weigh the possibility of them existing, she could never imagine that even she would turn out to be one. How's this even possible?
Cassie RobertMy heart races rapidly as I stare down at the floor. My body feels so weak and my head feels heavy. I have many thoughts conflicting in my mind. The courtroom is suddenly overpowered by silence, which adds to my fear. All these years of living in pain, I have always wished that I die, but at this point that I see my doom standing in front of me and staring back at me, I feel so scared. I am scared, not because of death, but because of the tortures that accompany it. For the seed of a traitor, as he called my father, I don't think he would want to grant me an easy death without making me go through pain. Taking me down memory lane, my heart hurts deeply as the thought of my father spurs through me. All he ever brought to me was pain, I never got the love I deserved from him and now he's going to be the cause of my death? How wicked of him. "I have an announcement to make..." His cold and domineering voice finally comes on, and waves of fear spark through me as I feel m
The loud moans coming from one of the rooms fill the veranda. "Yeah...yes...there..." Her moans finally become clear and audible. The large room looks extremely beautiful, with portraits of black wolves on the wall. A large mattress is in the middle of the room. Anyone would think that more than three people are sharing the bed, but alpha Damien is the only one sleeping on it. The moans are coming from the bathroom. Alpha Damien is in there, slamming one of his concubines as always. This is what he does almost every day to calm himself down, especially when he's angry. While growing up, he always has women at his call, ready to go to bed with him anytime he wants it. For someone who's handsome and has the charm to melt every woman's heart with his gracious look, it takes him no effort to get whoever he wants. People call him 'the sweet beast'. He may be dangerous, but he's tender and do thing softly behind closed doors. He's someone women would never get tired of throwing themselves
Cassie RobertIt has been three days already, and these are the worst days of my life. I thought my life was a mess back at my father's house, but now I know what pain is. The one I passed through back at my father's house is nothing, life here is hell on earth. After that day that I was taken from the courtroom or whatever they call it, the women that took me away, cut my hair short and now I'm looking like another person. According to them, the rule of their pack states that whenever a werewolf is demoted to an omega, if it's a woman that has long hair, it'll be cut short and if it's a man, his hair will be shaved off. I'm still trying to convince myself about something, I'm not a werewolf. No sign in me shows that I am one of them. I'll never forgive him if ever it turns out that I was being punished for nothing. Guess who's sleeping on the cold and dirty floor? Well, that's me. I wonder why people are made to pass through this much pain. We are made to sleep in a house that's bu
Epilogue It has been over three months already, and everyone has been living as though nothing happened. Luna Helga has been released after Cassie pleaded with alpha Damien. She has been happy to have found her mom after spending all the previous years of her life without her. Still thinking about her father, although the man was ruthless to her in the past, she can't still help feeling bad about everything. Maybe she should've controlled herself and not killed him, but it wasn't her fault that everything happened. It was what has already been written by fate, and no one could change it. Lydia and Dean have been seeing each other, she has forgiven her dad after Dean persuaded her, and they'll be having their mating ceremony in a week or two. As for Astrid, she has been sentenced to a few months imprisonment for attempting to murder Cassie. It's a beautiful evening, and Cassie is staring up at the dark sky on the balcony. Thinking about everything that happened these past few month
Chapter 72Five days later... Cassie forces her eyes open slowly, as the blurry ceiling welcomes her. Her head hurts slightly, and she groans in pain, shutting her eyes. Trying to recall what happened, a sharp gasp escapes her throat as she finally recalls everything. The last thing she remembered was being on the battlefield, and she suddenly slumped after she took an attack that was meant for Damien. She recalled taking her father's life on the spot, and that woman? Is she OK? And Damien, was he able to escape?"You're awake..." Alpha Damien's excited voice sounds as he walks inside the room with a smile plastered on his lips. He has just gone out a few minutes ago to get something important done. Tilting her head in the direction of the voice, she can't help the drop of tears that slid down her cheek. Here she was, thinking that something bad happened to him. Seeing him so healthy and standing in front of her, she can't help the excitement that rushes through her. Slowly, a smil
Chapter 71"Will she be fine?" Alpha Damien asks madam Leila for the umpteenth time after he glances at Cassie, who's still fast asleep. Tears well up in his eyes, but he forces them back and takes a deep breath. "She's weak now, and it may take a while before she recovers from it," Hearing this, his heart sinks into his stomach and he bites his bottom lip. It has been three days already, and she hasn't woken up yet. Will she ever be fine? Will she wake up eventually? "Hmm," He hums and nods his head as he sighs briefly. "I'll be on my way now, my lord," Madam Leila says before she finally strides out of the room, leaving Damien with Cassie. "Are you OK? Will you be fine, hmm?" He speaks softly as he strokes her hair. A drop of tears slid down his cheek. He has missed her so much, and he can't wait for her to finally wake up. But what if she never wakes up again? How will he survive without her? He blames himself for not being able to protect her, and it hurts so much to see her i
He groans angrily, shutting his eyes. Who the fuck is at the door, and why would he or she disturb him at this moment? "Who's there?" He asks angrily. "My lord... There's a problem. Astrid fell into the cliff and fainted," Hearing this, Cassie's heart wrenches in pain as anger shoot through her. Here she was, thinking that it was something serious, little did she know that her husband's mistress is the one in danger. She stares up at him, waiting for his next action. He won't possibly leave her, right? Will he go to her or satisfy her first? "I'll be back," And with that, he pulls away from her and stands up to his feet, grabbing his robe from the floor and wearing it swiftly, storming out of the room afterward like someone worried about his lover. Staring at the closed door, her heart breaks into a million pieces as she slowly clenches her fists. Tears well up in her eyes and they find their way out afterward. What was she even thinking? That he'll care about her more than his w
Chapter 69Blue Moon Pack "Why, Astrid? Why did you do it?" He roars angrily, as he clenches his fists beside him, while he grits his teeth. His blood boils in rage as he stares at her. It's only taking all of his self-restraint not to pounce on her and rip her heart off her chest, but he has no idea for how long he will be able to control this demonic anger that keeps trying to consume him. Astrid drops her gaze sadly as a drop of tears slid down her cheek. Her cover has just been blown, and she's in a deep mess now. Alpha Damien won't spare her, and she knows it. She feels her world crashing down to her feet, and the more the seconds ticks, the more she feels her doom drawing close to her, and she can't help the fear that keeps penetrating her bones and all of her. "I ask again, Astrid... Why did you do it?" His voice is filled with a dark and intimidating aura, as he finally moves his leg. "Forgive me, my lord. I was wrong..." Her voice quivers as she trembles on the floor. Her
Chapter 68Dark Blood Pack "Is... She my...child?" Helga whispers as she stares at the flowers, a drop of tears sliding down her cheeks. She never imagined that a day like this would ever come again. A day she would see this man again. The past she thought she had buried come haunting her, and she can't help the sadness that fills her from within. Why does he have to be the one? Why does he have to show up before her now? Those are the questions that she keeps asking herself as she stares into space. "What happened, Amelie? I thought you died?" Nicolai finally asks the question he has been craving for moments now. He looks shocked and confused. He should be because anyone in his shoe will feel the same way. Just twenty-six years ago, he and this woman were so much in love. Yes, she was the alpha's wife, but he loved her still. He was ready to do anything to be by her side, he was ready to scale through oceans and reach her wherever she was, he loved her with everything that he held
Chapter 67The dark blood pack... Helga sighs for the umpteenth time as she paces restlessly in her chamber. It has been many hours already, and she can't still bring herself to forget about what Cassie told her. Recalling the pain on her face when she was narrating her story to her earlier, she can't help the pain that keeps shooting through her heart uncontrollably. Letting out another brief sigh, she finally sits on the edge of the bed and runs her fingers through her hair in so much confusion. Moments ago, she was waiting for her father to show up so she can finally get what she wants, but now the feeling has changed. She doesn't feel like hurting her again, for some reason which she has no idea of. "Who is she?" She asks herself for the umpteenth time, but too bad that she may never find the answer to her question. Still lost in thoughts, the sound of the knock on the door suddenly pulls her back to reality, and she stares at the closed door for a few seconds, before she fina
Chapter 66Blood moon pack... "Shit!" Nicolai curses under his breath, slamming his hands on the desk. He has been like this since he got a message that Cassie is now held captive in the Dark blood pack. "I can't send Lydia there, Nicolai. Helga is going to kill her," alpha Kayden panics as he says to Nicolai while praying silently that this doesn't turn the other way round again. He has been his puppy for so long, and at this point, he doesn't want to dance to his tune again, not when he knows that his daughter is going to be in trouble. He has been so cruel to the innocent girl and her brother when all they ever do is obey him, all because he was a coward. Now, he has made up his mind to stand up to his fear, and he doesn't care about whatever comes afterward. "How dare you, Kayden! How dare you say no to me? Have you forgotten everything that I have done for you? Have you...""And I have been trying everything to make sure that I repay you, haven't I? I have been your puppy for
Chapter 65"Do you want to hear the bad news?" The corner of his lips slowly twitches into a smirk, as she turns around to face her. Cassie glares hard at her, wondering where this woman is from. Yes, it's obvious that she's a werewolf, but what does she want from her? Why is she doing this to her? Those are the puzzles she has been trying to solve all to no avail. "Not that I care anyway," She scoffs and rolls her eyes, turning her face away, and Helga can't help the dry chuckle that escapes her lips. Easier said than done. Of course, she knows that this little lamb in front of her is just trying to be courageous in front of her, she knows that she cares so much about Damien, and by the time she learns the doom ahead of them, she'll realize that she does really cares. "You'll eventually do, Cassie. Alpha Damien and Dean are on their way here, along with his soldiers..." Helga pauses to observe the shocked expression that suddenly creeps up Cassie's face, and her heart sinks into he
