Chapter Fifty-Two

Elsa's POV

"Come on, girls, you have to hurry. The guests are already waiting and you don't want to leave them hungry," Rosa barked at us so we could hasten our efforts to prepare the dishes, put them in appropriate containers and take them to the Pack Square where the wedding was to take place.

The long-awaited wedding day had arrived and the entire Pack was buzzing. Everyone seemed to be excited and why not? The Pack was about to have a new Luna Queen.

Alpha Davon had gone back on his words to not get married to the Princess and I guessed it had something to do with my rejection of him. I also heard that he got some advice from the elders and with Mrs Melissa around, she might have said a few things to him.

Anyway, all of that didn't matter anymore. He was getting married and I was going to get married to Prince Murray soon, although I didn't know how soon.

I took out a pot of food from the fire and placed another pot on it. Then I emptied the food into a lar

Chapter Fifty-Three Alpha Davon's POV "Ahh," I yawned, opening my eyes as the brilliant rays from the sun shined directly into my eyes through the window. "It's finally morning." The previous night wasn't the most eventful one as most people might have assumed being that it was the night of my wedding. It was always known by people to be the night when the shaking of the bed was an inevitability. Yet, in my case, there was nothing of that sort. I didn't even sleep in the same room with my wife. She was with her mother and I was in my room, alone, doing nothing else but enjoying the warmth and comfort of the sheets on my bed. After the wedding the previous day, we walked to my chambers and had a little chat. That was when she revealed to me that she wasn't going to be in my room that night. "It's not like you'll miss me or anything." Those were her exact words and I didn't know if I was supposed to tell her that she was wrong or not. I didn't even know if I was going to miss her

Chapter Fifty-Four Elsa's POV I sat down on the pavement in the garden, breathing in the sweet scent of the flowers all around. It was an amazing feeling; the perfect time away from all of my problems. Earlier that morning, I had passed by Alpha Lucius' room on my way to Murray's. I knew it was wrong but I couldn't help but stop, hearing the sounds from their room as they made love. He moaned so much. I could tell he was enjoying himself. It was no business of mine and I knew that. They were married. It was expected of them. Yet, I found myself almost breaking into tears as I finally walked out of there in a hurry, not to Murray's room, but to the garden to cool off. Since we became a couple; Prince Murray and I, we had never had any sex at all. He had made a few moves but I always told him that it wasn't time for that yet, but that wasn't the case. I just hadn't gotten over Alpha Davon. "You know that he's the only reason why I came to this Pack, right?" I asked Wolf, who sul

Chapter Fifty-Five Elsa's POV We walked out of the garden without looking back as Melissa kept yelling cuss words at us. She didn't hold back at all, but we didn't care either. She could bark all she wants, as long as she didn't lay a hand on me again. It felt great to not be a servant anymore; to be able to move around the Pack as freely as I want without anyone having to bother me or anything like that. I missed cooking though. I missed it a lot, but I was better off without it. At least, I could very easily cook if I ever felt like it, not because I was obliged to but because I wanted to. That kind of freedom was something that I had never experienced in my life but here I was, watching it happen before my very eyes all thanks to Murray. "Perhaps," I thought. "Things were beginning to go in my favour. The Goddess must have decided to smile at me, or maybe she was just playing games. Only time could tell. Prince Murray led me to the training ground and there, we sat to rest

Chapter Fifty-Six Elsa's POV The night had come and all I could think of was how to make my way to Mrs Rosa. Earlier that day, I ran into her when she was taking the Alpha's food to him and she gave me a nod of affirmation that our meeting was still on. But she looked terrified even as she nodded. She looked a bit unsure about what she was about to do but if she was brave enough to do it, I was all for it. I tiptoed to my door, making sure to not make any sound at all. I couldn't afford to be heard by anyone else except for the guards who would always stand by the entrance of the passageway. I opened up my door and slowly made my way out of my room, down the passageway until I was finally outside. Surprisingly, I didn't see any guards by the entrance and it was unlike them. Ever since I got to the Pack, I had never gone to deliver food for the Alpha at night without seeing the guards there. Even as I moved to the Royal quarters. They were always there at all times. They alway

Chapter Fifty-Seven Alina's POV Even after just waking up from bed, I still felt so angry about what happened the previous day. I was so mad that I didn't even let Alpha Davon get too close to me. Somehow, I blamed him for all that happened. If only he had talked his brother out of being with that stupid girl, she'd never have had the guts to challenge, nor would I have been spoken to the way that I was, by Prince Murray. "It seems you're still upset, my child," my mother said to me. I didn't know she was already awake. I turned to my left where she was and she just had a smile on her face. I wasn't in that mood. "I can't seem to forget the way they spoke to me, mother. It was so embarrassing. Ah!" I placed both my hands on my head, wondering what I had to do to get back at them. I couldn't think of anything at all. "I'm the Luna Queen of this Pack, yet I felt helpless," I lamented. "It's not supposed to be so, right?" She just laughed at me. She must have faced something like

Chapter Fifty-Eight Alina's POV It was already two days and I didn't mention to Mandy that I had found out her secret. I wanted to give her a chance to let me know herself but she wasn't forthcoming. I decided to visit her instead. Someone had to go to the other. If she wasn't going to come to me, I had to go to her. The only problem was that I was less inclined to be lenient with Mandy knowing that she was very unrepentant. I imagined that they might have even had one or more encounters after the last time, especially since I didn't see Elsa that much. Stepping out of my room, I shut the door and began to walk down the passageway, out of the Royal quarters so I could get to Mandy's room. To my surprise, I almost collided with someone just as I got to the entrance. "Are you blind?" I yelled, before turning to see who it was. I felt it must have been a servant probably trying to get food for someone. "I'm– I'm sorry. I didn't know you were coming out," Elsa apologised with a

Chapter Fifty-Nine Prince Murray's POV "It's time, brother," I said to Alpha Davon on entering his room. He was still trying to put his regalia on at the time given that he had gotten up quite late. He was to have a diplomatic meeting with the Silver Moon Pack that morning and all preparations had been made. He had asked me to join his entourage but I swiftly declined, stating that I was going to leave the Pack on the same day. He wasn't happy about it but he had to understand. I had to be away from the Pack and all of its troubles but even more so, because of the plan that I had made concerning that journey of his. "I'll be right back," I said to him on hearing an almost silent tap on the door and he nodded. I had asked one of the guards to head out and see Stam who was outside the Pack. I asked him to find out if he and his men were ready to fight the battle and to knock that way whenever he got the answers that I needed. I opened the door and the guard was there, waiting fo

Chapter Sixty Elsa's POV "Why's Murray not here?" I asked as I sat in the carriage awaiting his arrival. It had been almost an hour or even more than that, but he was nowhere to be found and I began to get a bit worried. He said he wasn't going to be long but it had already taken so much time. I thought about leaving the chariot to look for him but on the contrary, I didn't know if he'd like that, especially if he was having a very confidential meeting. Even if he did, the other party would definitely not appreciate that. So I stayed put and just spent some time thinking of the things I'd eventually say to him when he gets back. "He'd better have a good excuse for this," I said to myself. "Else I'd kill him for letting me stay out here this long." I began to hum a song. It was a song that my mother always hummed when I was little or so I was told. I couldn't quite remember hearing her do it but somehow, the song was stuck in my memory and every time I felt a tad anxious, I alw

"Why won't you let me fulfil my destiny? You know that you can't beat me, right?""You think so?" I raised my right brow."I didn't think that you'd be here, Elsa. I felt you'd be inside with your child in your belly or your arms," he explained. "I have not stopped loving you and I'd hate to kill you. Step away or you'll leave me no choice but to take your life.""You can try," I chuckled, gripping my knife very strongly. "I taught you everything you know, Elsa. Without me, you'd have been nothing," he reminded me. "Now, I didn't teach you everything I know. Just the ones I felt you should. I'll teach you now. I'll make you learn by experience. Some things are better learned that way."H

"He's being cleaned up by the maids."I stared at the ceiling feeling so exhausted. The pain that I felt and the energy I had to muster during my baby's childbirth had begun to take a huge toll on me. "Did you just say, 'He?'" I asked, as it suddenly struck me that she was referring to my child as a boy."Yes, my Queen. It's a baby boy and he looks so handsome," she gushed."Oh. Here he is," she said as one of the maids walked to my bed with my child in her hands.I managed to sit up with my back pressed against the wall for support and the maid handed my baby over to me. He was beautiful; so beautiful that I felt a few tears drop from my eyes as I stared at him. He had blue eyes, just like his father and he took my hair. My boy was a blondie. I bent and kissed him on the forehead, very happy to have him.

Chapter Hundred And SixMurray's POV"Hold," I screamed at my men as we got very close to the borders of the Stronghold Pack. I had sent three of our men to head over to the borders to find out what was going on and they were yet to return. So, I felt the need to hold on until they did, instead of rushing in blindly. I paused to look at the army that I had with me. I had managed to convince two other Rogue Kings to join us with their warriors in our quest to take Davon out. It wasn't that easy as they didn't trust me at first. Just like Alpha Grim, they thought that I had come to lead them to their demise and if Alpha Grim didn't intervene, they'd never have joined us. They weren't that large but with more than 15 carriages full of our combined warriors, I had no doubts that we were going to overwhelm them with ease. I also believed that the Rogues and I were the perfect match. I had trained the Rogues in my Pack for several months and I knew they were ready. But more than that, t

I asked the guard but he just gawked at me, looking very clueless. "I'm sorry, I didn't look, " he confessed. "I just ran here as soon as I saw their carriage approaching the borders.""Thank you."I stood, headed out of the throne room and began to make my way to the borders. I wanted to welcome Alpha Duncan myself. I felt it would mean a lot to him if I did that, and encourage his people to give their all in the fight.I was a few metres away from the Pack Square when I saw them approaching. They were massive; even more than I had expected them to be. I tried to count but stopped when I was at ten carriages, only because they had gotten to where I stood and came to a halt. So I had to give my attention to the Alpha King who was making his way out of his carriage to meet up with me. "Greetings,

Two other guards walked in with him and just stood beside the door as he approached me with the paper. "From whom?" I asked, stretching my hand to take the paper from him. "My apologies, my Alpha. Good morning, Sir," he greeted. The urgency of what he had seemed to have caused him to forget that he was to greet me once he saw me. The other guards with him also did the same. They all bowed and greeted as they ought.I just nodded curtly and went back to my question. "Where did you get this from?" I asked again. "It was delivered to us by a Rogue. He came to us with a white flag and when we asked him to approach us, he came to us and handed the paper over to us. He said it came from your brother…""It came from Murray?" I turned to my left and saw her holding onto my left hand with tears in her eyes and I wondered what happened to me. There were others in the room; the Pack nurse and two of her trainees. One of the guards was there too. They all had their gazes fixed on me when I woke up and it felt so overwhelming. Slowly, I began to recall what had happened. I remembered how I was talking to Abigail close to the garden before I felt weak and my eyes got hazy. It became clear to me exactly what had happened to me…I had fallen to the ground, unconscious. That must have been why I found myself in my room with no knowledge of how I got there. What I couldn't tell was what caused me to lose consciousness in the first place. "What happened?" I asked, trying in vain to sit up. "You must relax, my Queen," Abigail said, seeing that I struggled to get up. "You don't need to exert yourself at the mo

It was exhausting, yet it was worth it.I looked to my side and Davon was still fast asleep, even though he went to bed much earlier than I did. I thought he was beginning to get too lazy."Get up, sleepy head," I teased him, shaking him a few times to awaken him from his slumber. "It's morning already. Didn't you say that you had a meeting to attend?"He grudgingly turned as he stretched, yawning so loudly that I wondered how he became that tired. He finally got himself to sit up and he just stared at me like he was going to hit me. It was so funny. "You should have just let me sleep a little more, honey. I felt she'd be right next to my father instead. The previous night, news was sent to us that Melissa and Alina had broken out of their cells. We were told that they managed to get out despite the presence of several guards who were stationed in front of their cells in the dungeon and I couldn't help but feel surprised. I had thought something like that couldn't happen, especially because it had never happened before. Somehow, Melissa and her daughter were able to do the impossible. Chapter HundredAlina's POVAs we got off the carriage after arriving at the Rogue Pack, I looked around at my new surroundings and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. For sure, it was nothing compared to the Runway Pack. The brown leaves on the floor left a lot to be desired. The flowers grew wildly, no one bothered to trim them, but as I walked past them with my mom by my side, those were the least of my problems. I wondered how Murray was going to take the loss of his dear Mandy. I had lied to the other guards that she was killed by one of the guards in the Runway Pack. The good thing was that I didn't pull out the knife that I used to kill her and it belonged to Ronnie. Nothing about her death pointed to me, except that I was supposedly with her when it happened. Well, I shut off those thoughts as we continued to make our way to the throne room. I wanted to know what it looked like. "It must be the size of a mushroom," I laughed in my mind.
