Diana turned around severally while she ran but she could not see anything chasing her. Oh, but she knew she was running away from something or someone. The feeling was so strong and it led her to stumble a few times. Luckily, she never fell. And she never stopped running until she arrived at Calhoun's chamber. Soon as she ran in, she pushed the door and locked it, resting on the door. She turned to check the giant wall clock that hung beautifully in his room. It was almost 1 am. She sighed softly, her heart still hammered in her chest. After calming herself, she burst into tears. Why would things not just get better? Why did they always get worse and worse and always worse? "Pretty girls should not cry." Diana turned quickly to find Calhoun seated in his chair as if nothing had happened to him. She stared at him blankly, not knowing what to do or how to react. This was Calhoun, right? And he was sitting before her, right? She could touch him too, right? "C... Cal... Calhoun!"
Calhoun stared up at the woman that was yelling at him nonstop. He signalled for her to keep shut since the child was asleep. Diana was oblivious to his signs as she kept yelling at him."Shut the fuck up, woman!" Calhoun yelled. Diana went silent instantly. "Can you not see that the child is asleep?"Diana glanced at Coco. She returned her gaze to Calhoun. Her eyes darted around and landed on the clock that was on the wall behind Calhoun. It was almost three am. Why did it seem like time was going too quickly?Calhoun stared at the paper in her hand and he had no expressions. "What is in your hand?""Oh, this? It's just some scrap I found in your drawing room." Diana said, crossing her arms over her chest.Calhoun chuckled. "Drawing room? I don't draw." "Oh of course." Diana rolled her eyes. "You don't draw and all these drawings happened to appear in the room beside your chamber.""That room did not belong to me," Calhoun confessed."But you always stopped people from entering ther
Calhoun opened his eyes to find himself in an empty bed. No wonder he couldn't enjoy the rest of his sleep. He sighed and rolled off his bed. He stood up and walked into his bathroom. As he opened the door, he found Diana carefully trying to undress the little boy. So this was why they left."Diana?" He called. "Hm, I was wondering where you had left to.""I'm not lost, you don't have to bother," Diana replied firmly.Calhoun paused. Did he annoy her somehow? "How did you sleep?""Fine," Diana answered. She wasn't concerned with how he slept too?He scratched his head. "Okay. Are you bathing the baby?""Obviously.""Um, can I join?" He asked carefully."Don't you have something to do this morning, Calhoun? You should go and see Felix and Evander. I'm sure they have a lot to tell you." Diana said, facing him.Calhoun chuckled. "I have this feeling that you're mad at me for a reason.""Mmhmm.""Are you?" He asked."I don't know, Calhoun. Should I?""Should you...what?""Should I be mad
Diana climbed out of the bath and she walked to the bedroom. She took out some clothes and dressed Coco. She wore a robe over her naked body, wore Calhoun's slippers and left the chamber.Calhoun heard the sound of her leaving and he sighed. Once again, it was just him and his mood. He relaxed in the water, closing his eyes, just like in old times. The water had turned cool now and that was when he enjoyed it even more. It helped to calm him down.A while later, he heard the sound of the door opening and closing, and then locking. His eyes opened as he tried to listen for the sound of whoever had come in. Hearing no movement, he closed his eyes once again. "It seems as if you don't need my help anymore." Came her soft voice. Calhoun opened his eyes and her bare foot came into his view. He looked up and when his eyes reached her thighs, he could already deduce that she was naked so he took his gaze straight to her face. She had a half smile on her face and her eyes held so much passi
"My king, have you met this man before?"Calhoun nodded. "It's this same person who had taken it upon himself to keep me on my toes. You know, after the first letter from Fraco, the arrows and knives that would occasionally whoosh pass me.""It's him? How did you know?" Felix asked."When did you know?" Evander asked."A little while after the first two times." Calhoun answered. "He is George's older brother.""My king, I have told you before, don't take out that man's name before me." The man said gruffly.Felix and Evander shared a glance. What?"What is he talking about, my king?" Evander asked.Calhoun chuckled. "He hates his brother.""He's not my brother." The man grunted. "George is a betrayal.""You are the black sheep of the family, it's hard to say that George is the betrayal." Calhoun stated. "You're the one who's hated by the entire family.""Only because I speak the truth. I refused them to harm you.""And I'm supposed to be indebted to you for that?" Calhoun asked pridef
Patricia's life flashed before her eyes as Calhoun's hand holding the sword came whooshing down. She shut her eyes tightly, waiting for the pain. Memories of her childhood, her first love, and her family flooded her mind.As she opened her eyes, she realized that she was still alive. Calhoun had missed her by inches. She wasn't sure if he had intentionally missed her or if it was a mistake. Either way, she was more than grateful for it."Speak," Calhoun growled. She noticed that her hair had grown many inches shorter and Calhoun grabbed the cut part and raised it to her gaze. Patricia was more than stunned. Why did he cut her hair?"I... I felt bad. She killed George." She stuttered. Calhoun raised his hands again and she began to speak even faster."I only wanted to make her sleep a little more. I didn't think it was going to be so lethal. It was given to me by my father-""Your late father." Calhoun corrected. Why did the people around him like to die and resurrect?"Y... yes. He ga
Calhoun was curious about what had his servants so worked up that they were willing to leave their duties and go somewhere. He decided to follow them and see where they were headed. As he made his way through the castle's corridors, he couldn't help but wonder what awaited him at the end of the journey. The possibilities were endless. It could be something thrilling or something that would upset him. Calhoun was prepared for anything. He continued to follow his servants, eager to find out what was going on. As he made his way towards the room, his anxiety grew with every step. The servants had been tight-lipped about what he was about to witness, leaving him to imagine the worst. He tried to calm himself down, but the unknown was too much to bear. Finally, he arrived at the door of the room. He hesitated for a moment before turning the handle and pushing it open. As he stepped inside, he was greeted by a sight that took his breath away. The room was unlike anything he had ever seen
Calhoun expected her to follow him but he also was not surprised that she did not. It did not annoy him, funnily. It rather made him feel amused. As he walked towards his chamber, he stopped at the room where he had kept the rogue wolf. He suddenly remembered his reason for seeking her out."I guess I'm the one to go out and search for her again." He muttered. He walked away and stopped by his throne room. He sat on his throne and stared at nothing. Felix and Evander were supposed to have shown up in the castle again. But they had not shown up, and it was making him have thoughts. Not long after he thought about them, they showed up in the throne room. They were apologetic towards their delay."My king." Felix bowed. Evander followed suit."How long did it take you to give an announcement to the people?" Calhoun demanded."My king, something came up and that was why we delayed," Evander answered."Hm." Calhoun hummed. Things seemed to get more interesting after the war. Every day was
