Tyler

The mansion was empty. We had expected that when Aro delivered the girl, Rhazian would run. She may have tied the Fae’s hands with her contract, but Rhazian was smart, he knew we would come for him. My pack had a long history with the vamp, going all the way back to Cyrus, the first Alpha.

The last of the warriors from the other packs had arrived in the late afternoon. Once we had a plan in place, we moved on the mansion where the first had been staying. The reports coming in made it clear the vampires he had created were on the move, but we still had hope we could pick up his trail. A small detachment headed towards each area vampire activity had been reported, while the most elite of the group joined my own warriors to search for clues in the mansion.

Miriam “I should have never allowed myself to be talked into that contract.” I seethed. “We need to find a way to break it, a loophole, something. These were-vamps are a threat and if Rhazian knows how to make them, there’s nothing to stop him making more.” “What else would you have done Miriam?” Aro pled. “She was going to kill us if we didn’t get her back to him safely. How were we supposed to know that type of monstrosity was possible?” “I don’t know, Aro. I really don’t, but I want Fredrick to start looking for a way out. Maybe the wolves can deal with these new beasts, maybe they can’t, either way, Rhazian can’t be allowed to continue his miserable existence

ApolloI stormed through the coven in a rage. They had not only tried to kill my daughter, but their actions had caused me to lose track of her. I had felt her, the moment she used her abilities to escape the witch. Whispering directions on the wind, I worked to lead her to a private place to meet me, but she had suddenly vanished from my sight. The only explanation was my sister’s involvement. I would deal with them, but first I needed to deal with my creations. “I send you the perfect tool for the mission I laid upon you at your creation, yet you tried to destroy her.” I roared as the coven cowered before me. “My lord, we didn’t know!” An older crone cried at my feet. “It has been our duty for millennia to destroy supernaturals. If we had known that we were meant to wield the power of yo

Taylor Screams echoed through the halls. My heart pounded as I hid behind the door in our room. Rhazian’s face was contorted in fear. We couldn’t see what was happening beyond our room, but the sound of footsteps continued to move closer as the screaming faded. Saveta crashed through the door, sending my flying to the floor. My mate scooped me into his arms, checking that I was uninjured. “Enki. He has come.” Saveta rasped. “Is there a way out?” Rhazian asked his child. “No, we are trapped.” She wailed. I trembled in my mate’s arms as we waited for my f

I found Rhazian and Saveta in the kitchen seated at the large dining table. Rhazian scowled as Saveta sat curled in the lap of a nearly naked, muscular male, her face buried in his neck. The image was a little jarring, my mate looking the part of a disapproving father, while his daughter lounged in the lap of her much older companion. “Good morning, my lady.” Saveta smiled, pulling her face from the man’s neck and licking blood from her lips. “I wish you wouldn’t do that at the table.” Rhazian huffed. “Especially in the presence of my human mate.” “Where else would I eat my breakfast, father?”

Tyler The early afternoon sun filled the room. I looked around, uncertain where I was. The last thing I remembered was the blinding pain of claws tearing at my sides. Someone had put me in sweatpants and bandaged my wounds. Sucking air between my teeth, I winched as I moved myself into a sitting position to get a better look at my surrounding. “Ah, good. You’re up. I’ve brought some food for you. You’ll heal faster if you eat.” A man said cheerily as he entered the room from a door to my left. “Who are you?” I asked as he placed a tray of food gently across my lap. “How did you save me from that – that monster?” “

Saveta “This is a horrible idea.” I stated, though nobody seemed to be listening. My Sire was too busy staring at his mate like she had grown another head while she scowled back at him. The stand off reminded me of one of his earlier mates. After the forest that had kept the village hidden from the mortal realm was burned to the ground by Apollo, vamps began to acclimate to the human way of life. We went into hiding, creating many of the myths about our weaknesses and abilities that persisted into present day. We knew we had to go our separate ways to prevent the truth of our nature being discovered. It began the spread of our kind, many began to follow the example that had been set with me, creating new companions for themselves. My maste

We settled into the village with Rhazian’s mate. She refused to leave, and he refused to leave her behind. She was a cruel mistress, using her glamour to control the humans like chattel. She didn’t seem to care for the bond between my father and I either. He would walk the perimeter, ensuring no stray traveler entered the village, leaving me with Sabina for hours. Jealousy ruled her. She would challenge me at every turn, unwilling to accept that as the older vampire, I was stronger. Once my master returned, her sweet façade would fall back into place. I begged him to release me to make my own way, but he refused. He blamed her maker for her behavior. We had learned that her maker had taken her by force, intent on adding to his growing harem. He was a cruel master, forcing his progeny to submit to his depraved sexual desires. So long as he avoided the heart, they would heal. His commands left

“Are you insane?” I hissed. “You’re going to get us killed with this plan of yours.” “Saveta.” Rhazian cautioned turning to face his mate. “You have no idea how strong I am.” Sabina cackled. “Even my maker couldn’t hold me in his thrall for very long and it resulted in his death.” My mind jumped to what she had told us in the early days about escaping her sadistic maker. She had waited until his hold was at its weakest and beheaded him, delivering his head to the rest of the harem as a sign they were free. Centuries later, the story of her maker would be written into one of the human’s religions. “You cannot c

Osiris “What on earth are you doing all the way out here, Osiris?” Saveta called waddling toward me. One hand rested on her protruding belly as the other held the hand of my five-year-old nephew. She motioned for me to make room as she lowered herself onto the bench beside me. “You know how it goes. Mom and Dad can’t keep their hands off each other. I had to get away from that.” I replied, scrunching my face in comical disgust. “You know, you can still come stay with us if you want. Chuck would love to have you help out with his little experiments.” She chuckled. My sister had b

I crept to the front of the cottage, peeking through the curtain, Rhazian close behind. Just beyond the porch stood the coven that had taken me from Rhazian’s mountain cabin. I could feel the anger rolling off my mate. If he were still immortal, he would have been outside, ripping them to pieces before I could say a word. I sent up a silent prayer of thanks that his invincibility had disappeared with the removal of Apollo’s curse. I didn’t want my mother’s people dead unless there was no other choice. “What do we do?” Miriam whispered. “Fae magic doesn’t work on witches.” “I should go out and talk to them.” I replied, squaring my shoulders in determination.

Taylor It had taken a couple days for us to be able to access the place where we had ended my father. Each attempt until than had resulted in a sudden confusion and feeling of being pushed away that we couldn’t deny. When we were finally able to reach the place, it was startlingly familiar. The earth was scorched as the earth in my vision of Titan’s downfall had been. My guardians were nowhere to be found. Sadness tugged at my heart as I realized that I had called them forth to be destroyed. There was happy news, however. Saveta was mortal again and had begun to age at a human rate. When Apollo lifted the curse from my mate, it was lifted from everyone that remained. The wolves he had turned to hybrids, thankfully, held no memory of their time as were-vamps. They described the time as floating in darkness, until

RhazianMy eyes scanned the misty field. It had been a touchy couple of weeks, but it was finally time to end Apollo’s threat once and for all. Taylor and I had arrived at the fae palace the day after Saveta had shown up at my door with wolves. The moment we were situated in our suite, I began summoning my creations. I had felt the ties lock into place as each one fell back under my control. The wolves had taken every opportunity to threaten my life once the war was won. It was clear there was no love lost between us even though I was currently an ally. Taylor seemed to have her own issues with the Fae queen. I would catch her glaring daggers at the woman when she thought nobody was looking. “Are you ready for this?” She whispered, squeezing my hand in hers.

TylerI couldn’t hear anything over the ringing in my ears. The moment the hybrid beast had begun twisting the cell bars, Chuck had fired several shots into her torso. She had shot him a deadly glare as she clutched her chest and collapsed to the ground. While her skin didn’t seem to react to the silver while in human form, the small tendrils of smoke coming from the bullet holes seemed to indicate there was an internal reaction. “Well, that was intense.” Chuck laughed as my hearing started returning to normal. “How the fuck did she do that?” “No idea. Maybe being in human form they’re more vamp than wolf?” Chuck shrugged. “She’s down for the moment though. Doesn’t look like the vamp sid

Rhazian Taylor looked terrified as I thrust her behind me. Saveta was the only person who knew where I was hiding out and she wouldn’t have knocked. I groaned inwardly at having chose a place with a front door situated in the living room as it shuddered under another thundering knock. “I don’t think they’re going away.” She hissed behind me. “If they keep pounding like that, the door is going to give. Better to answer it.” Nodding, I gestured for her to step into the hall. If our visitor were a threat, at least my mate would be out of sight and have a head start. I straightened my self to my full height as she followed my unspoken direction. One last glance to ensure my mate was hidden away and I strode to the door, pulling

I landed against something soft, the space around me filled with darkness. Moving to get my bearings, I realized I was in a bed, the comforter tangling around me as I moved. Even more startling than finding myself in a dark room, in a strange bed, was that I wasn’t alone. My eyes adjusting to the dark, revealed a man slumbering next to me, his breathing peaceful and easy. I scrambled from the bed, landing on the floor with a thud as the blankets captured my legs. “Who’s there!” The man demanded, bolting upright. “Oh, thank goddess, Taylor!” He moved too fast for me to see, pulling me tightly to his chest. He seemed to be familiar with me, but I wasn’t even sure who I was at the moment. I pressed my h

I was lost. Once I had gotten out of long shadow of the dark mansion, everything in the celestial plane began to look the same. I had tried to use a guidance spell, but my magic didn’t seem to work here. The only option I had was tapping into my demi abilities which would draw my father directly to me. Scowling up at the open sky, I screamed my frustration at the two suns and moons that hung above my head. “This is ridiculous!” I wailed to myself. “I can’t even navigate by human means.” My stomach growled angrily as I became more and more lost. I was so hungry that the leaves on the trees began to look appetizing. I knew I would be useless if I didn’t find food soon, chastising mysel

My breath whooshed from me as I found myself face to face with my golem. “You scared the daylights out of me!” I scolded; one hand pressed against my chest in a futile effort to slow my pounding heart. He slipped past me, not sparing me a second look as he made his way toward the book that had drawn my attention. He stopped just before it, his head cocked to the side, listening to something I couldn’t hear. “We should go.” He whispered. “No, I need to know what’s in th
