I stared at the newest scan of our pups. They were growing quickly. Their growth was as if they were twelve weeks instead of just a few. That would put Elle at three of the five months that she-wolves were pregnant for. I was not certain why their growth was accelerated like this. All that mattered was that the three of them were healthy.

‘Did you ever just ask Kitty?’ Tyre asked me.

‘I never thought to. Did you ask?’

‘Of course, I did,’ he said, smirking at me. ‘Mate will have accelerated pregnancies for the safety of the pups and her since we’ll be stepping into a dangerous role within the supernatural world. It should progress normally from here.’
