“GINGERHEAD!” Laura rushed down the stairs with excitement, wrapping her in a warm and tight embrace. "I'm so relieved you're finally awake and that you came to visit me!" Tears welled up in Laura's eyes as she let go. "I've been so worried about you, Emily. I feel responsible for not being able to protect you." Her voice trembled with emotion.

Emily met Laura's gaze, her eyes brimming with tears. She understood that her sister-in-law would likely hold herself responsible for she had gone through, the reason why she badly wanted to visit Laura, but Lucian only allowed her after the day she finally awoke.

"Please don't blame yourself, Laura," Emily reassured her with a gentle smile. "I've also heard about what you went through. I'm relieved that you're safe now."

Laura let out a soft laugh. “My body is still recovering.”

“This all happened because of me. I should be the one apologizing…” Emily replied, pulling Laura into another comforting hug and patting her back. “I’m so sorry, La

THE atmosphere within the meeting room was tense. The weight of Emily's words had left everyone in a state of shock and silence. The Elders found themselves speechless, and didn’t know how to respond to her question. The room was charged with the intensity of Emily's presence. Her penetrating gaze caused the Elder who had mocked her to break into a nervous sweat.“I want to make something clear,” Emily said, looking around the table at the Elders, memorizing each face of them who she would never allow to insult her again. "I am the Luna of the Alpha standing beside me, and I should be part of all pack meetings from now on." Leaning in, she rested both arms on the table, her expression intense as she regarded the Elders. Her gaze then shifted to Lucian. "This isn't a mere request; it’s an order.”Lucian's gaze turned icy as he observed the edges of Emily's irises igniting into a crimson hue. In that moment, he realized that Emily's actions were being guided by the Alpha wolf within her

One week had passed, and Emily found herself seated on a plush leather couch within the dean's office. Her gaze wandered around the sophisticated room, adorned with lush plants that beautifully complemented the pristine white decor.Laura gently placed a reassuring hand on Emily's back, prompting her to look up."Are you nervous?" Laura asked.Shaking her head, she exhaled heavily. "Actually, it's quite the opposite. I'm feeling excited to be here."Her sister-in-law let out a gentle chuckle as she settled onto the couch across from Emily."I hope that excitement sticks around even after a few days. You know, running the academy can get quite complicated, Emily. I'm not trying to discourage you, though."Emily chuckled. “It’s okay. I need to experience some new complicated things. This is much better than having to stay at home and staring at the walls of my room all day.”Laura leaned back, a playful glint in her eyes. "Or perhaps this is just your way of avoiding the intense lust yo

For a moment, all she could do was stand still, surprised by how Lucian silenced her by crushing his lips on hers. The warmth of his kisses made her helpless, and without a second thought, the pain and frustration she wanted to unleash faded away into thin air.Funny how the Alpha could easily manipulate her emotions just like that. She stood still, tears still brimming in her eyes, as she attempted to control the lust… the desire… those familiar yet unwanted sensations that started to engulf her, that began to erase all the hurt from the fact that she couldn't have Lucian's attention and his heart. Her heart raced as Lucian bit her lower lip, and a moan escaped her lips. His hands roamed her back and neck, pulling her even closer until all she could think of was pressing her body against his... until she finally gave in to her desires.Emily kissed him back with the same intensity. As she lifted both of her arms, her hands found their way into his silky hair, gently gripping it as sh

Unable to breathe, Lucian clutched his chest while on the floor. The veins on his neck grew larger as if they were about to explode. His face turned red, his heart beating rapidly. While Emily screamed for help, his gaze locked onto her, and he felt excruciating pain enveloping his body.It was Argus. The powerful beast within him swore to all the demons that he'd make him pay if he ever touched Emily again. The obsession of the beast had reached its extreme, and he'd do anything, even if it meant the destruction of his host, Lucian. At first, Lucian was confused by his beast's actions. But as the days passed, Argus frequently hurt him, treating him as his greatest nemesis whenever Lucian showed the slightest affection towards Emily. Argus didn't like it; the beast wanted Emily for himself alone.Argus yearned to take over Lucian's body, but Lucian never allowed it. For him, Argus' spirit should only remain within him. No Lycan beast had ever dared to take over its host's body in the

Lucian lowered his face, intending to plant a soft kiss on Emily’s head, when Argus made him feel a pain inside his chest again, causing him to suddenly push her. Emily’s eyes widened at what he did, casting him a confused, hurt look."Don’t get too close," he grunted, clutching his chest.“Are you having trouble breathing again?” Emily stepped closer, her concern turning to slight panic when she heard him whimper. “Tyler told me you said you were fine, but I doubt you are. Are you sick? You can tell me.”He knew Emily had the right to know about his situation. After all, she was his wife, but a part of him hesitated. With Argus’ state of mind, Lucian wanted to be vigilant. He had no idea what the beast inside him was plotting. All he knew was that Argus would try to take over his body by the next full moon. And so he couldn’t tell her. A single mistake would only make matters worse. And what if Emily got hurt in the process?Lucian shook his head, avoiding Emily’s gaze. “I’m fine. I

The classroom was filled with loud, terrified gasps from the students as their attention shifted entirely to Emily. She stared down at the young boy on the floor, her aura undergoing a rapid transformation as the power of her Alpha wolf surged through her.The boy's jaw dropped, his gaze fixed on her, first humiliated and then gradually replaced by frustration. "Who are you, bitch?"No one liked to be labeled as a "bitch." That word had been one of her past traumas, something she had heard almost every day from the cruel Alpha who had abused her. A low growl escaped her as she removed her hoodie, struggling to control her thinning patience.“You should never address your Luna as a bitch.” Her voice was as cold as an iceberg, sending shivers of terror through all the students in the classroom. The mouths of these Lycan teenagers fell open as they recognized her. Emily's gaze swept around the room, ensuring that she made eye contact with each of them while her fists clenched.“This beha

The intensity of the awkward tension between them became palpable as soon as they were alone. Emily trailed behind Lucian, their steps echoing in the dimly lit street outside the pub. The streetlights were casting an eerie glow on the surroundings, yet all she could perceive was the dangerous aura emanating from her husband's presence. Despite his ruthlessness and perilous nature, she couldn't deny that deep within her gut, there still existed a longing for him – a feeling she couldn't dismiss no matter how hard she tried.Emily couldn't feign ignorance about the emotions surging within her every time he cast that gaze, the one that unmistakably conveyed she must know her place, and that their relationship meant nothing more than what she desired it to be.She knew how cruel he was. She should have shielded herself from developing feelings for the ruthless Lycan because, in the end, he had only brought her pain. But it seemed she might be a masochist, for no matter how many times he p

#80 The following day, Lucian was having a glass of whiskey in his office, contemplating whether he would speak with Emily or just let what happened yesterday between them. He didn’t mean to act like a heartless asshole in front of her. It was Argus who was influencing him to do so. Irritation filled his chest, knowing he was under Argus’ mercy. He needed to find a way to stop Argus from owning his body. He breathed heavily at that thought. How could he stop Argus? He didn’t have any idea. His situation was strange, which was why he was also getting paranoid. He couldn’t allow his beast to take over his body. Emily’s face flashed in his mind. His chest tightened at the thought that the only thing he could do right now was to hurt her and stay away from her. Lucian knew to himself he didn’t want that. He wasn’t a fool to realize that Emily had become unique to him, and it frustrated him that he couldn’t even look at her in the eyes as Argus would hurt him internally. He downed his

Five hours later, Emily was already carrying Nia in her arms. They finally arrived in the Lycan Blood Pack territory and her daughter shivered at the sight of the land before them. “Mommy, I don’t like this place,” Nia said, trembling. “Where’s Daddy? Is he here?”Emily kissed Nia’s cheek trying to console her. “Daddy’s here. She needs you, Nia.” She took one of her tiny hands and kissed its knuckles. “Remember that day you showed me how you are able to bring the dead bird back to life?” Nia nodded her head, focusing on what Emily, her mother, had to say. Emily swallowed hard and carefully glanced at Nia. “Can you do the same thing to your Daddy…? B-Bring him back to life?” Her little girl’s eyes began to water. Nia was smart enough to realize what Emily meant by that. Her lips curved downward, and her chin trembled. “Daddy is dead, Mommy?” Nia’s voice cracked. Unable to control her emotions, Emily cried and nodded her head. “Y-Yes… Daddy is dead.”“No, Mommy,” Nia broke into te

Emily wailed in despair, her body trembling. She felt as if Lucian's death had become her death also… she sobbed as she hugged Lucian's dead body, kissing his forehead. "No… no, please, Lucian…" she cried. "Please don't do this to me. W-We need you… We haven't done so much together…" In the middle of her grievance, Alpha Cain ran inside the basement and came to a halt as soon as he saw her crying her heart out due to Lucian's passing. "Emily…" his voice sounded shocked. Sobbing, Emily turned her head to Alpha Cain, her heart consumed by fury. "Y-You…" "We need to get out of here," Alpha Cain said as he tried to compose himself. "Lucian's dead. We have to get out of here, otherwise, the other Alphas will kill you!" Emily growled angrily. She put Lucian down and immediately attacked Alpha Cain, using her Alpha power to push him with all force, which made him fly into the wall. The wall began to crack until it broke down. She didn't stop right there as she shifted to her wolf form

No longer caring about hurting and killing werewolf warriors from the enemy's side, Emily advanced mercilessly. Having Atlas and Laura backing her up was helpful, as the two fought other Alphas who tried to block her way. It didn't take long hours before she finally could see the towering mansion of the Silver Crest, which she guessed was where Scarlett was hiding. Emily sniffed in the air, smelling the familiar disgusting scent of her nemesis, Scarlett. The smell itself made all her emotions surge inside her. Her eyes were bloodshot as she looked up at the mansion. A growl escaped her throat before she made her way to the mansion's entrance. Without hesitation, she pushed the double doors open and scanned the first floor. It was dark, cold, and empty. "I believe you were looking for me," said the familiar voice that ignited her fury. "Long time no see." Emily looked up and found Scarlett staring down at her from the second floor, leaning against the railings while eating an apple.

Emily was stunned by the sight of the colossal convoy of trucks that stood in formation outside the arena. Atlas Kane motioned for her to inspect the trucks, and she complied without hesitation. She’d never seen so many weapons in her entire life. There were guns and rifles brimming with lethal silver bullets, and there were barrels containing syringes that had ominous wolfsbane liquid. She then turned her gaze towards the formidable gathering of hundreds of warriors behind the array of trucks, standing steadfastly and waiting for instructions from their Alpha. She spun to face Atlas Kane in awe. Emily never knew her new boss from the human town would be this helpful in times of a great war. “Well, I hope I brought enough.” Atlas Kane shrugged, sounding very arrogant as usual, only by now, Emily didn’t feel irritated with how he talked. She was, in fact, thankful as the weapons and warriors would absolutely help them in the counterattack. She looked at Tyler and Laura, whose eyes

Emily looked up at the night sky and took a sigh. She was sitting on the stairs of the arena's double doors for almost an hour, guarding the entire place from possible attacks from their enemies. Her mind was filled with worry. The pack was in horrible shape; the smoke and fires not far away from her indicated that the situation could be worsened more, and she had no idea to what extent this war would go further. She stared up blankly at the silver moon in the sky, hoping it would give her much strength to carry on with helping the remaining pack members and save Lucian. Wherever Nia's father was at the moment, may the Moon Goddess help him survive no matter what; he needed to stay alive for them. 'Scarlett is the root cause of all this mess. She has to pay for everything that she ruined, Em,' said Cassia through the mind link, seething with anger as the wolf snarled with its eyes glowing. 'If something happens to Nia's father, I swear I won't let it slide.'"We won't let it slide,"

Emily was enraged. Her eyes were bloodshot, and all she thought about was killing the alpha who she was seated on when Laura screamed to stop her. "Emily, no! We still need him to track Lucian!" said Laura. Her chest went up and down, her hand stopped in the air, and deep within, she wanted to go on. But hearing Laura's words, her mind was again filled with chaos. Before Alpha Ray could land a punch on her, she hit him on the neck as hard as she could, targeting his nerves to immobilize him. Three Lycan warriors came to her when she stood up. "Luna!" They all bowed their heads as a form of respect. "Take him. Please do everything you can so he won't escape. We still need him," she ordered. The Lycan warriors were quick to follow Emily's command. Her gaze followed them as they left, and then she glanced in Laura's direction. Her face immediately softened as she looked at her sister-in-law, and in one swift move, she ran towards her and embraced her. "Emily, you're back," Lau

Panic increased in Emily's chest, her mind utterly haywire. Her heart pounded so loud that she couldn’t breathe. After learning the bad news from Alpha Atlas Kane, she sprinted out of his office, not minding these human employees who might have seen her use her heightened speed. It only took a minute for her to be able to go home, and she instantly went to Lia, who was in the living room together with the kids, Elle and Nia. "Mommy, did you teleport?" Nia asked out of curiosity and rubbed her eyes before looking at Emily again. "Mommy, you teleported!" "No, Nia. Your Mom sprinted as fast as the wind," Elle corrected. "How did she do that?" "Emily, what happened?" Lia rose from her seat and went to Emily. Her whole body shook as if she was still trying to process the news she heard from Alpha Atlas. She looked at Lia with utmost fear and worry, and all she did was hold Lia's arm when she felt her knees weakened due to her welled-up emotions. She gasped for air as the negativ

"I suggest you relax, Em," Lia suggested with a smile. They were in the living room, watching the television, but Emily could not pay attention. She kept looking at her phone, waiting for Lucian's text message or call. It had been a week since he left for some pack affairs, and Emily hadn't heard from him since then. He sent him a few text messages, but those even went on read at all. "It's just weird for him to not check his phone for that long," Emily reasoned. "Do you think there's a problem in the pack right now? I can't help but worry.""It's impossible. Your husband's pack is the strongest, and he and Tyler can surely handle problems in the pack," Lia assured her, passing the popcorn on her. Emily smiled a bit, but the worry remained in her chest, or maybe she just really missed him. She didn't know. The feelings she had for Lucian went deeper and stronger, and her mind seemed only to know nothing but scream Lucian's name. It was cringed, but that's how she described it. "Le
