Chloe's POV“Ah… Finally!! We’re out!” After ensuring that we were no longer in the Blood Hound Pack’s territory and that there were no spies following us, Vanessa exclaimed in relief. “Geez, Chloe! I thought we were really done for at that time! I did not expect that Alpha Kain would suspect us first of all the people inside!” With frustration and anger in her voice, Vannessa continued to rant as we thread in the woods. “Indeed, I still kept repeating what happened back in the hall. I could not really think of a reason why Alpha Kain would put his suspicion toward us.” I muttered in wonder. Even as I thought about it deeply, I could not figure out the reason why Alpha Kain was fixated towards our side. Could it really be that I have made a grave mistake while posing as Alpha Aira?“Let us not think about it too much, the most important thing is that we are able to get out of their territory safely and finish our mission. Besides, we are already going to abandon Alpha Aira’s pack.”
Blake's POVAfter roughly a day of coordination with Alpha Kain’s men, we were finally allowed to go out of the Blood Hound territory to ‘investigate’ where we could find the remnants of the Blood Moon Pack.Midway on the journey, I stopped mygroup and divided our party into two.“Idris, assign the others to go back to the ‘base’ and gather enough people. They shall wait for us to come back before we commence our operations.” Idris is assigned as the focal person on the side of the true Frost Fang Pack. With the agreement with Alpha Sabre, we chose the most reliable on both sides of the Silver and Frost Fang Pack and made a ‘base’ that will serve as the pseudo headquarters of the mysterious Frost Fang Pack. In this way, Alpha Kain could investigate the place anytime without having to expose the real territories of the Silver and Frost Fang Pack. “Alright… but are we going somewhere?” Idris did not protest against my orders but instead curiously asked my intentions of dividing the
Chloe's POV“Chloe…” As I was in my office, Allan immediately came with Vanessa as they reported, “It is as you said, the Frost Fang Pack has come to town. Caleb is facing them right now.” My hand froze as I heard their words, ‘He really came…’ Remembering his words back then, I knew that he would contact me sooner or later. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts and resolved, “Let them in, also, most of the remaining people here other than you two and Lisa knew Blake’s real identity. But since he came here as the leader of the Frost Fang Pack then none of us shall mention him being the Lycan King.” “As you know, most of our men knew Blake’s face as the rogue and my mate back then, but they did not know his real identity. Even so, I don’t want any fifth person to know who he really is.”“Alright…” Even though Vanessa and Allan became confused they still nodded and acknowledged my decision. For many nights, I was deliberating how to tell Caleb about Blake… B
Chloe's POVBoom!Powers clashing from me and Blake caused the hall to shake and for everyone to be thrown off their initial positions. “As expected, our mate is indeed strong…” Aurora praised as we both tried to parry Blake’s ruthless attacks. Boom! Boom! Boom! Blake’s power rose from his arms as he struck the air toward me. His strength was like a gigantic hammer pressing everything around him.Everytime his attacks hit against my defense I felt like my entire body was shaking while trying to resist the destructive power in his moves. “Urk…” I clenched my teeth and retreated, creating a distance between us. There and then, I saw the overall situation of the battlefield. Many of the warriors have already fallen and it was only a few more warriors assisting Vanessa, Allan and Caleb against Arthur and their unknown companion. “This…” I stared wide-eyed in disbelief. I never thought that it would only take a few minutes for our pack to fall against three people from Blake’s side!
Chloe's POVHow could it be like this? It has been five years. For those five years, I did my best to forget everything. Desperately, I did my best to abandon my feelings, to the point where I foolishly fooled myself that I have put everything in the past. All that sadness, the way my heart aches when I think of those painful memories I had with Blake… the way my soul still longed for him despite everything that happened… the way my body yearned for him to come closer so that I could touch his body heat… All those feelings of happiness and belongingness that he taught me…I thought I have forgotten Blake and made everything, all the memories we made together a colorful part of my past. I deluded myself that when I saw him, I would be able to put everything behind and only strive forward towards my goals. Who knew that I was wrong… so horribly wrong…"C’mon Chloe, bring it on. Right here and now, attack me with all your might! I am giving you a chance to attack me without any defen
Chloe's POVMy heart sank as those dreaded words reached my ears, and I couldn't help but flinch. Blake had been right all along. We had both attempted to break free from the ties that bound us. As for me, I had given it my all to forget him, filling my days to the brim, drowning my thoughts in busyness. But as soon as I laid eyes on him again, the futility of my efforts became painfully evident.I could no longer deny the truth. Forgetting Blake? If I searched the deepest corners of my heart, there he was, a constant presence.Erasing him from my life? I had deceived myself into thinking I had succeeded, yet, as time passed, wasn't Blake the very first thought that greeted me in the morning? Wasn't he the last thought before I surrendered to sleep? And now, here he stood, holding my hand. A simple touch sent shivers through my soul.Could I truly continue to ignore it? Could I honestly brush aside these overpowering emotions that surged within me whenever I looked into his eyes? C
ChloeIt was an hour after our talk, I was standing outside of the hall, feeling a little anxious yet content. Standing closely behind me was Blake. Like me, he was quiet and not saying a word. But though we were quiet, it was not uncomfortable. Because there were no words needed to be said between us. At that moment, I felt like I fully understood Blake. The two of us moved together towards the hall and I peeked inside. When I saw what was inside the hall, the comfortable feeling in my heart immediately vanished and was replaced with irritation. Inside the hall, all of my pack members are laying on the ground, unconscious. In the middle of them were Arthur and another man, watching at my pack members with distracted and confused expressions. "Are you sure my pack members are not hurt?" I hissed at Blake who also peeked inside. "It's been an hour, why are they still unconscious?" I questioned him.Instead of answering my question, Blake gave me a smirk as if my question was funny. I
ChloeEveryone looked at our direction, frozen in place. “Chloe!” After announcing my presence, it was Caleb who broke the silence in the hall. His attention immediately shifted to me as he automatically ignored Idris and Arthur while he rushed at me to see my condition. “Are you alright? You are not hurt aren’t you?” With worry washing over him, Caleb looked at me as he looked at Blake with vigilance.“You… What did you do to her?! How dare you lay your hands on our Alpha!” The hostility in Caleb’s eyes were apparent as his body stood in a defensive stance as if ready to take on Blake at any time. The tension started to rise up once more but Blake only stood still and did not react to Caleb's provocation. “Caleb, I'm fine, and calm down. He did not do anything and we have already reached an agreement.” Not wanting for the hostility to cause another chaos once more, I immediately held back Caleb from approaching Blake any further.“Wait, what? Did this person pressure you to come
ChloeWe stared at the sight in shock and a flash of realization came over us as the puncture on the fog wall rapidly closed up.“As you can see, we can only see the pathway for a few seconds then it will close again…” Alpha Nador calmly exclaimed. Then from his large bag, he revealed a thick rope, heavy and long. “We need to have one person, the most nimble among us to cross the thin pathway. Once he reaches the other side, he has to connect the rope so that all others will be guided. For I can only open the fog wall here on the stable ground. The pathway is so thin that it would crumble once we tried to exert our energies while stepping on it.” Alpha Nador then explained. Then he looked at us, asking with his eyes who among us would be the first to cross the path. “I’ll go…” Blake did not hesitate and immediately answered. “Good!” Alpha Nador said as he tied the rope on Blake’s waist and told him some instructions. Before he went, I held his hand and said in worry, “Be careful
ChloeThere has been a great change at the joint camp these days. After Blake’s last expedition in the Rain Valley, we welcomed the news of a newfound ally.Alpha Nador, the leader of the Rain Valley pack surrendered to Blake in an all-out duel and submitted themselves to his command. While it was not a smooth process of acquiring allies, we managed to pull through and integrate their members into our alliance after ensuring that they all agreed that we would put all hostilities behind us. Just like the Frost Fang pack, the alliance will only last until we have eradicated Alpha Kain’s forces. After that, we will release them to be independent. This condition made the other members of the Rain Valley pack finally put their doubts behind them and fully face our goals head-on.Another thing that made us shocked was the discovery of a hidden association of werewolf packs who were against Alpha Kain’s regime. Because Alpha Nador had recently joined, he also gave us the information about t
BlakeRumble!!!As the thunder and lightning covered the dark expanse of the Rain Valley, so were the attacks being released back and forth. With the explosive blows he had released for quite a long period of exchange, I could not help but admire his might. How could he last for so long maintaining the peak condition of his attacks while also receiving blows from me?“C’mmon… Aren’t you so arrogant to say that you would subdue me and show me what you are made of?” There was a trace of impatience on the Rain Valley Alpha’s tone. “If you are not going to move, then I’ll take that as you admitting your defeat!” With that he gathered all his power and charged once more with another attack.I stood there unmoving, my heart was still contemplating as to why there is a small part of me that was hesitant to take the life of this Alpha. It’s like something from far away… where my hands couldn’t reach, tells me that I have to spare the Rain Valley Pack! However, in the utterly muddy and rain
BlakeCaleb noticed the person a second too late, and so despite his preparation the angle where the opponent is coming from will surely deal a great amount of damage to him. My face darkened as I realized this, without thinking further I used Eron’s power to rush in the attacker’s position to impede his attack.Boom!!As I brandished my fist to meet the large body of the opponent and the impact caused a sudden gust of the wind throwing off everyone in the battlefield. “Alpha…” Caleb realized what had happened when the pain he was anticipating did not land on his body. He looked at me wide eyed as he did not expect me to intercept the attacker’s movement while coming from a distance. “Don’t mind me… rally the troops and handle the rest! I’ll take this one!” I instructed. Surprisingly and for the first time, I saw no trace of resistance and stiffness on Caleb’s face as he nodded and obeyed my command. Welcoming the new development, I was relieved to take this position as I know t
BlakeWith that everyone took their own places and readjusted. After that, I called for Idriss and Caleb to assemble them after an hour to check of their temperaments. Even as the temporary alpha of this team, I could feel the state of their being just by looking at their countenance. While it seemed like everything was according to Caleb and Idris’s plans by far, we cannot let our guards down and cause a fatal error to the mission. To my relief, all seemed to come back to their peak state when they regrouped after an hour. Going with it was the night finally ripening even as the rain continued to fall unceasingly. As the heavy droplets of water poured down endlessly on the valley the forest became pitch black and the ground became muddier the longer we traversed in it. There’s no other silence but the incessant rain and there’s no other obstacle but the cruel terrain. Even so all of us silently pressed forward having to come here with a mission at hand. Soon the first teams re
Blake The entire barracks went silent momentarily, but the sound of cheers came right after. To the members of the alliance, the presence of one leader will empower them as they go on a dangerous mission. Idris was calm but his eyes looked at me with appreciation. However, Caleb still had a frozen look on his face.As for me, his attitude isn't something I mind, unless provokes me by making a move on Chloe. As for his loyalty, I know that he wouldn't betray the alliance so I left it like that.Having announced my decision I left the briefing on Caleb and Idris, letting them know that while I said that I will join the expedition, it will not cause a change on the plans the two have already set."Tonight, we will set off to the target alliance that we have on our list…" It was Caleb who did the honors in introducing the target to everyone. "...Living on the far west from the Blood Hound Pack, the Rain Valley Pack is the last pack that we have to take on for the second phase of our
BlakeAs soon as I uttered those words, Chloe’s body froze momentarily in surprise. The next moment she gave a light hearted chuckle and sunk into my embrace. Her response was fully welcomed by every bit of my being. Like we are each other’s fountain of life, we stayed like that for a little while. I looked down and took a good look at my mate’s face once more. Caressing the side of her face, my heart felt the piercing pain of seeing how exhausted she was as she pushed herself in deciphering the poison.“I heard from your student and Arthur that you have not gone out since taking the poison from my sickbed? Why do you torture your body this much?” I uttered in helpless pain. But when I was expecting for her to give me a rather serious explanation, I was blown away when I saw my mate pout adorably as she replied back, “What goes the same to you, aint it?” My heart felt like it was going to drop. For I am not prepared to be attacked in such a way. Her eyes looked at me as she contin
Blake“There you go… All done!” Arthur clapped his hands as he took the casts and bandages in my body. After two days of recovering, my body is finally ready to move normally. Thanks to the combined efforts of Arthur and Chloe, developing a potion that could repair broken bones, I was able to come back in tip-top shape in less than a week even with the heavy injuries that I had. “What’s your plans today?” Arthur cast a curious look on me as he tidied up his things and prepared to go to Chloe’s laboratory.“I was thinking of visiting your lab to see Chloe... But looking at your countenance these days, it seems like everything isn’t going well?” I replied. “Sigh… it is as you said… I’ve even contacted Father to take a look at it because it seems like we were not even close to deciphering a layer of it…” Arthur brushed his head while lamenting over the matter of the poison. “It’s only been two days… don’t pressure yourself too much,” I replied. “I know man…. But we cannot afford tha
Chloe“Made by Uncle Gauss?” My entire body trembled when I heard his name and the words that Blake said. In my hands, the very poison used by my uncle to kill Dad. The very poison I was not able to successfully save my father from. And even after his death and after five years of relentlessly searching, there was still no clue as to what could counter this poison at all. This very poison was one of the two poisons I promised myself to defeat, the other being the one that infected me and Aurora. “Chloe… you good?” Arthur called out softly as the two of them noticed that I fell in a daze the moment I heard the information from Blake. “No, I’m fine… it’s just that, I did not expect that I would have to encounter this poison when I am still unable to find out how to counter it.” For the first time in the last five years, I openly told someone that I was unable to guarantee that I could deal with this poison in front of me. “Don’t worry, we’ll help you. Esha is also a good child you
