Chloe's POV

The air was filled with a sense of serenity as Blake and I found ourselves in a quiet place. It may have been coincidental, or maybe subconscious on my part, but I let Blake to the secluded part of the forest behind the pack house... the very place where we had our first meaningful conversation... that time we talked after he marked me.

The forest seemed to breathe with life. Leaves rustled in the wind, whispering secrets that only nature could comprehend. The gentle swaying of branches created a mesmerizing dance, as if the trees themselves were in harmony with the rhythm of the earth. It looked so lively... very contrary to the emotions that I was feeling inside.

I stood there, gazing at the horizon, the chilly wind blowing on my face. Deep inside, the memories of that time started flooding back to me. It was the first time I discovered about Vanessa and Alan's betrayal. Then, my father had forcibly switched our mates.
