Edwin could not sleep, no matter how high he had climbed on the tallest tree there and seen that it was safe, without any danger around. He still did not believe that she had entrusted to him something so powerful, that he could control her whole kingdom. Very brave of her to trust him, since he was another mystical being, and one of the worst enemies of the werewolves.

The collar was a shiny leather, with two black stones in the center, the buckle was silver. The glow of that object almost dazzled his gaze.

Edwin put the leash inside the bag again and faced Alexa, who slept next to Jax, just after the fire she had made the night before. During the night in the forest, it was very cold, that fire was not enough to heat them, but it was already much better than just the temperature of the environment.

He studied her, she seemed to be young in human years, maybe twenty-two or about that, the same age he had whe he stopped growing and aging, as normal in

Trying to fall asleep, pretending not to feel Edwin's eyes on her back, she began to feel a mental itch, an emptiness she had forgotten to check and tried to connect with the minds of her fellow pack members, but she quickly pulled herself into other fields, she still felt his strong cold hands squatting around her waist, she could not forget the feeling no matter how much she wanted it, though she didn't want to for once no one could not even admit that a werewolf was friendly with a vampire, let alone that she enjoyed the company of one, and despite the what always had been done and Edwin's bickering she was beginning to like his company, even more so after learning that the Night Soldiers were active again, it would be good not to have to face one alone, even in her Wolf. She tried to remember what else was in the stories, but her tired mind took her into pre-war history before the war. At a time when Vampires and Werewolves lived in harmony, with nothing but a small d

Entering the clearing, and seeing the black monster of the Night Soldier laying in the ground unmoving gave Edwin some concern, would it be alive, was the question that was on his mind, with his sight he noticed the black goo that was gushing from a wound of teeth. Then he heard a whimpering, that sent shivers down his spine his vision caught sight of a massive moon white wolf lying in the ground. His chest felt heavy, when he saw the wound on the side of the wolf, red-stained the pure white fur, and the wound looked black-ish. He came close, he had heard the howls and suspected something was wrong with Alexa, but nothing would have prepared him for this, from the stories she told, he knew what was happening, she was dying, and he couldn't accept that.Edwin came closer to the wolf, with a plan in his head, it might no cure her, but it could help to delay her death and maybe give them time to found a solution to save her. He grabbed the coll

She felt some cold hands touching her, on her forehead she opened her eyes to see Edwin over her, an overwhelming concern filled his face, a thin closed line of pink lips, semi-close eyes, and rebellious hair, a question remain on his face when he helped her sit down."Are you all right? What happened? What are you feeling?""I'm fine... I think..." Alexa started by saying. "I feel strange, cold and as if my bones were hurting, a slight pain, I can bear it.""What happened?" He asked, sitting in front of her."I was trying to get in touch with my pack, to see if everything was all right, by Zulcan, I didn't even realize that a Night Soldier was approaching, Jax didn't feel it either or he would have warned me. It came up against the wind! I tried to fight her with the sword, but it did nothing to it, not a scratch and another thing that wasn't mentioned in any of the stories was the spike it had on i

He tried to shake her awake but she didn't open her eyes, he touched her hand and it was cold, almost like him.Concern filled him, he felt his chest tightened and tried to listen to her breathing and heartbeat and felt her shallow breathing and the steady heartbeat."Please, Alexa! Wake up! It isn't your time yet! You can't leave me alone! Not after all that I have said to you and I couldn't apologize! I don't think werewolves are weak or that you're weak! I know how strong you've been! If reverse I don't think I would have the same strength that you have shown!" Pain... Fire coursing through her veins... Cramps in her legs and her arms... Her stomach was acid and just like she wasthrowing up, a million knives seemed to be thrown at her chest... This was how Alexa open her eyes whit a gasp so she could regain herstrength and try to maintain some normalcy over herself. Whenshe could overcome the pain she looked at her surroundings and spotted Edwin sitting right next to her he looked worried and immersed in thought. She gathered the strength to touch him. Walking at a fast pace right beside Alexa's horse, Edwin tried to maintain a conversation with Alexa, knowing that she would be in pain, he couldn't let her be alone. He was still astonished at her, she didn't show fear of dying and hide the pain he knew she was experiencing, he knew from her eyes blurry as if tears were on the breaking of falling down and for her breathing that was shallow as if deep breaths would cause more of it. Her speech was slow and controlled as if trying to save energy, so much different from when they began the journey."So, if you were in Zulcan now what would you be doing?" He asked her, only to have something to talk about."Don't know.""Indulge me please, I would like to know how your life is."'Why the sudden interest?" She asked tiredly."I need to keep you talking with me, once you'll hide from me whatever it is you're feeling."

A male voice was sounding in the background but it sounded far away and she couldn't figure out what was being said like it was spoken in a foreign language. Darkness was calling for her and she couldn't resist it anymore. She closed her eyes and woke up in a clearing she examined her surroundings and recognized it as the Forest of the Wolves, here she took her pack every full moon to take the turn, in the middle right above a ray of sun was a woman with her back turned for Alexa, with long blonde hair with a white flowing simple dress. When the woman turned to Alexa she noticed a familiar brown with sparkle of green eyes just like Alexa's eyes, thin lips were open in a smile, and warmth flow through Alexa just as she recognized the woman. "Mom?" "Yes dear, it is me!" Said the woman opening her arms to take Alexa in an embrace. Alexa felt the warmth of the safety of her mother's arms tears flowed down her face, but

Seeing the entry for the caves gave Edwin a boost in hope, much needed. Alexa's eyes were closed her breathing labored, her heartbeat slow and almost faint, dark webs of veins were visible in her neck. He knew that time was running out for her. The day of traveling had been one of the most agonizing that he had ever experienced, between cries and screams from Alexa then the quiet of the dead, which made him worried that the sparkle of life in her could fade anytime. She spent the traveling between the two states and he couldn't do anything to help her, to ease her pain. Her head rested against his chest and he never let go of her waist, with one hand, and with the other, he took the reins of the horse and guided it towards the entrance of the caves. As soon as he got to the entrance he noticed that Jax couldn't go the rest of the way so he dismounted and took Alexa in his arms, feeling her cold and sweating, shivering from a fever. Running was the way that he chooses to look

As the dining room became empty of all the pack members, Edwin took a seat right next to Alexa, and Diego took his place right behind her, Lucius snorted some mean comment about how precious the Queen was now to have two vampires guarding her even in her castle. Charles avoided contact with the queen's eyes, "What is it, Charles? What did you found that's making you afraid to tell me?"He looked at her, finally, seeing her brown mixed with green eyes, like it was reading his soul which sent Charles in a rubor, "I broke down the door for the forbidden library!""All right, did you found anything useful, of what I've asked you to?" She asked getting straight to the point."Yes, I've found many things, some of them I even wished I haven't found," he began and stared to Alexa, who gave him the courage to keep going with just a look, "Well, for starters, a hybrid is born out of a vampire and werewolf couple, which makes the vampire a Lycan, I believe it h

The throne room was barely lit, everyone was waiting for Flora and Patricia to reach with the men that stole the horses, they should've been there by that time. Elia looked to Andrew, who was pacing on the room, almost making a hole on the ground, "Could you stop that?"Andrew stopped and stared at Elia, with a pensive expression, "I should've gone with them, what if something went wrong? What if they were caught by the vampires or the other wolves?""Flora knows how to handle herself, and I observe Patricia earlier with Truman, she also can hold her own in a fight. Everything will be fine, you'll see, any minute now, they'll be crossing the doors of this room and we will know everything that happened!"As if saying some magical words, the doors of the throne room opened to present Flora with sparks of blood all over her body, Patricia went last but didn't have as much blood on her than Flora and the three men that camera in between them, but what se

It was morning, the sky was filled with birds chanting, people were happy, even though they were preparing to war, everyone just woke up with a feeling that it was a good day to be alive, a feeling that the pack knew all too well, something stirred up their emotions, they sensed their queen was close to the Castle. Alexa was indeed reaching the village, but before she approached any further, she turned, making her traveler companions stop, right before her, “Is anything wrong?” asked Diego, alert. “No, we are close to the Gates of Amora Castle, and I don’t want to frightened anyone entering the village in my wolf form, running from a Lycan, who no one knows that exists, and two vampires, is best if we kept to walking until we get there!” Everyone agreed even Lucius who looked annoyed to have to travel this way since the beginning of the journey. They keep walking side by side, in silence, only with some complaints from Lucius about the weather, the road, and

"We need to go to that camp immediately!" Snaped Lucius, his voice thundering with authority. "That's not the best course ofaction!" Alexa reasoned annoyed that they were having the same argument and they still didn't cross the White Castle's gate. Edwin and Diego had gone to the stables, trying to find some horses that they could use. "You don't tell me what to do!" Lucius snapped, appearing to be a boy throwing a tantrum. "As soon as we get there, I'll call my warriors back, the war is over before it begins and I'll deal with Morgaine, on my way!" "Well, if what it's being said it's any true, I doubt anyone would follow you, you rule by fear, so if presented with a better and kinder leader they will change their loyalty and you'll find yourself alone!" Reasoned Alexa. "They can't, they are bound to me by blood." "Morgaine didn't seem affected, maybe she found a loophole that allowed her to poison you and to kill you

Flora arrived at Arya's room, in the West Tower, from there she could see the blue line of the sea and Arya said that it was the best place if she ever needed to contact the Merchant Council because it was a straight line until the other shore, where supposedly stood themerchant council. "Did you asked for me?" Flora asked, stepping inside the room, spheres were laid around the room, white chalk drawings on the ground, and up to the columns beside the big window that was in the direction of the ocean."Yes I'm going to need your help, and maybe someone else to, I'm going to try and contact the Merchant Council and Elder Evra to tell them what is happening here and how to fight Lucius.""Everything that you need, maybe Patricia would be interested in participating, I know the others have their assignment and are working no stop.""Could you talk to her? At the beginning of the night, Flora was called to the stables, for a servant boy. The stables were a big house in the southeast corner of the castle leaving to a big field with paddocks, many horses were living there, trained to be able to withstand the odor that the wolves emanated. "What's the issue?" Asked Flora, to the stable boy. "Jax is back, my Lady, and three horses were stolen tonight!" He answered a little afraid of her reaction. "Which ones were stolen?" Asked Flora, with a feeling on her mind that she knew who did it. "Miara, Anedosia, and Travesco." The stable boy said. "You've said it all, it was Josh, Rob, and Michel! They were begging me to go on a scouting trip to the Plains, to get an idea of the field!" Flora said, crossing her arms. "Prepare me Fiora I'll go after them, also prepare Corvus, I'll invite someone to come with me, I need a steady horse for beginners." "It'll be done in a minute." Flora turned her back

Rufus called a meeting with all his pack members and was waiting to see everyone in front of him, his second in command came closer to him "Everyone is here except for Patricia, no one has seen her since last night when the vampires arrived." he told Rufus on a low voice, almost whispering."Which one is Patricia?" Rufus had to ask, in the same tone of voice."She was one of the first females to join us, we had much fun with her, it is the one with that mark on her ass.""Yes, I remember now. You say no one saw since last night, it might be that our new friends found her as amusing as we once did. I'll ask Morgaine once this is finished!" Rufus told the other guy with a smirk, then he looked to his pack and lounged a growl that left them on the ground. "We are close to our objective! Now we let Zulcan know

"You need to turn Alexa, we need a little bit of fur and blood." Said Edwin, drawing his blood to the container with the blue concoction.'I know... But I'm afraid my wolf will not control herself between so many vampires.""I'm here Alexa, right next to you. I'll not let anything happened, trust me" Edwin told her, pulling her into a hug."Okay, I'll do it." Alexa closed her eyes, the crackling sound of bones breaking and rearranging sounded so loud, white fur covered her body, and instead of a standing woman, stood sited a white wolf."Impressive!" Sounded Diego, right next to Edwin."I know, mate! Now, Alexa, I will take a few strands of fur."Alexa could feel his cold hands on her skin and heard the blade cutting through the fur "Now, this is done. You can turn back to human."In the blink of an eye, Alexa transformed from the wolf to the human body, she was smiling, as if something was funny."What is it?" Edwin asked her.
