Caden closed his last bag and placed it down on his bed, moving his pink hair to the side. He'd waited sixteen years for this day and it'd finally had come.

The day he'd begin his time at Terlace Academy.

Caden's eyes glowed pink as he lifted the same bag and moved it over to his others using telekinesis.

"I think that's everything." His eyes faded back to their natural dark purple shade.

Caden's uniform was packed in a separate bag from the rest as he was unsure when he'd need to wear it. He was going to wear it but decided not to due to it not being the most comfortable ensemble of clothes.

"Are you done yet?" The door flew open to reveal a raven haired boy, Emett.

"Literally just." The pink haired boy responded.

"Good! We can leave quicker now!" Emett squealed.

"You're even more excited than me. For school of all things!" Caden raised his eyebrow.

"But this is different!"

"Let's see how long that mindset stays."

Emett hit Caden's arm.

"Fine. I'm sorry." Caden rolled his eyes.

"You should be. Anyway, grab your things. We need to say our last goodbyes before we head off." And with that, Emett was out of the door.

Caden sighed at the boy, watching him leave. He took one last look at his room. Sure, he'd be back there for half terms and holidays but it'd be a while before any of that. Caden was certainly going to miss his home but he was going to a place that he'd always wanted to. It wasn't so bad!

His eyes lingered on a large book placed on his desk. His planner. Caden had always written down his schedule and days events in it. Although, over the years it had become less and less detail oriented and more simplistic.

Whilst Caden was an organised person, the level of how much he cared about sticking to a routine had severely decreased. Whether this was a good or bad thing he didn't know.

Looking through the planner's pages, Caden was reminded of past memories and moments. He usually had written down school dates, projects he came up with, relationship dates and more.

Caden hadn't had many relationships at all. The only proper one was an ex from just under a year ago. Nothing had really happened between the two. It was just two psychics who liked each other, decided to start a relationship and realised after time that it wasn't what either of them thought it would be like.

As they were both in the same class, they'd still seen each other around for the duration of their secondary school enrolment.

Luckily for the two of them, the other had gotten into a school still in the Zen Realm unlike Caden. They wouldn't see each other any more and both were secretly pleased about it. Some things were better forgotten.

That was the reason why Caden shut the planner and put it on one of the shelves in his room. To replace the planner in his hands, Caden picked up his signature notepad.

He used this notepad to write about any creative ideas that he thought of. Stories, poems, songs, anything. It was like Caden's escape from the real world. His notepad was just like a dream. Maybe a little over exaggerated but it was still fairly true.

Now holding his precious notepad, Caden once again picked up his bags with telekinesis and left his room to catch up with Emett.

-----

"There he is!" Emett grinned as Caden appeared.

He was with the elder of their species. They were Psychics.

Psychics had the six abilities. Telekinesis, teleportation, mind control, telepathy, mind reading and levitation.

They'd learn how to harness these abilities from a young age, taught by the elder herself. Caden and Emett were brought up by the elder as neither had their parents.

Both boys lived with the Elder and always had done. She'd done so much for them over the years. Above all of that, she had watched them grow. Right to the point where Caden came close to defeating her during a training match.

For these reasons, it was a bittersweet moment to see the two go.

"How did the two of you grow up so fast?" The elder spoke, a soft smile on her face.

"You say that every year." Emett laughed.

"But this year I especially mean it. However, I won't be sad but happy instead. I'll miss the both of you so much, I'm so used to seeing you both everyday."

"We'll be back in a few months but of course we'll miss you too." Caden went to hug her, Emett following behind him.

The hug lasted for a few seconds before the 3 split.

"I know you'll both do me proud. Show them all just how talented you are!"

"We will, I promise."

"We won't let you down!"

The elder smiled at the sight of the two boys. She knew for sure that they'd keep their word.

"You should both get going. I'm sure you can't wait to see the academy."

Caden and Emett nodded enthusiastically.

"You do both know where you must teleport to, right?" She questioned, more directed to a certain one of the boys.

"Don't think I didn't see that look! I know where to go!" Caden exclaimed.

The elderly woman laughed lightly.

"I know you do Caden. You're not as bad with directions anymore."

"Well-" Emett began. However, he was shut up by the look he received from the younger.

"Off you go. And for my sake please do not kill each other. I'd appreciate seeing both of you back here!"

"We won't." The two eyed each other, uncertainty evident in their answer.

The elder shook her head.

"I love you both."

"We love you too." Both boys said.

And with that, they disappeared into the air with their bags, off to their destination.

-----

Within seconds, the scenic area of violets and lakes was replaced by a mountain like building towering over the two. There were countless of students there, ranging from a wide spectrum of different species.

The boys could see demons, ghosts, sirens, angels, ghouls and so many others. It certainly was a different sight from being surrounded by fellow Psychics.

"We're actually here." Caden breathed out, his eyes not leaving the academy ahead of him.

The raven haired boy beside him, grinned before grabbing Caden's hand and making his way forward to the school.

"Come on, let's check out the inside!"

"Emett, we're going to be here for three years, slow down." However, he took no notice of what Caden said, already determined to explore the academy.

"We should get our dorm keys and then look around!" Emett kept talking, dragging the other Psychic along with him who was struggling not to completely fall down.

"I take back what I said about not killing him." Caden muttered under his breath, eyeing the older boy.

-----

To their delight, the two boys ended up being assigned as roommates. They had both practically scrambled to their dorm once they found out, thanking the man at the desk first.

"We're going to have the best time ever!" Emett was screaming by that point, earning him a few stares from other students. Caden apologised to them as they went along.

By the time it took for them to get to their dorm room, Caden had managed to significantly calm Emett down.

"I knew the dorms would be nice but I didn't expect them to be this nice." Emett gazed at the room in front of the two.

Caden set his bags down on the right side of the room, claiming it as his.

"Put your things down, I want to go look around." Caden told the raven haired boy.

"You didn't even let me have a say in which side of the room I want!" Emett glared at him.

"First come, first serve." Caden shrugged his shoulders, winked at Emett and stepped back out of the room.

"Are you not going to look around the dorm at all?" Emett called after him. The silence he received was enough to answer his question.

Emett flung his bags to the left side of the dorm before trudging after his best friend.

"What a bitch." He muttered.

-----

"Hurry up Emett! You walk too slow." Caden yelled at the other psychic from the top of a staircase. He heard the boy groan as he made his way up.

It hadn't even been an hour since the two arrived and the roles had already flipped.

The academy offered so much for its students. Caden's plan was to go through all the school's departments and he was at the last. Terlace Academy had all the normal subjects that any would have with one key change.

Instead of the regular biology in Science, studies centered around each species specifically replaced it. This included learning about the history of each species as well as their abilities and how to utilise them to the maximum. These classes were the only ones were the species were separated so they could learn solely of their own heritage.

Caden turned the corner to reveal the department he had been anticipating the most.

English.

Sure, everyone else hated it with a serious passion but Caden loved it. English was his ace subject and it always had been. Nothing could change his mind about that.

"Of course, extra English. Well we've seen it can we go?" Emett groaned.

"Not even your terrible insults can ruin this. I'm going to be spending half my time here in the library so I should probably get to know it as well as I can."

"You talk as if it's a living thing."

"Quit complaining. You can go back to the dorm if you want? But I'm staying here." I turn back to look at him.

"Gladly. See you later bookworm." Emett smirked before swiftly walking in the direction the two had came.

Caden shook his head at the older boy, a slight smile on his face. He rolled his eyes before turning back to the glorious room ahead of him.

He pushed both doors open and was welcomed by maybe the most fantastic sight he had ever seen.

"I'm going to love it here!" Caden squealed. A few heads darted in his direction to which he apologised almost immediately.

"Let's get started!" The boy whispered that time.

-----

Caden didn't know exactly what time it was when he left the library but he could tell that he'd been there longer than he had intended to stay. He made his way back to Emett and his dorm. Speaking of the older, he wondered what he'd been doing for the past... however long he'd been in the library.

Upon reaching the courtyard, Caden could see a lot more different species. He guessed the reason was that it was darker than earlier. The main two species he could see were vampires and werewolves. Of course nowhere near each other.

"I knew there'd be a lot of them but I didn't expect this much." He muttered to himself. Whilst they had a decent number, Psychics were on the smaller side when it came to population so Caden was used to being in a smaller class.

Gaining back his focus, the boy continued walking back to his dorm.

He pushed his dorm door open to be greeted with the sight of Emett dangling off the side of his bed.

"What on earth are you doing?" Caden raised an eyebrow.

This caused the older boy to fall from his position straight to the floor. Caden sighed.

"Thanks for that," Emett grumbled, rubbing his head.

"It's not my fault that you wanted to be a monkey." Caden moved his bags off his bed before throwing himself down on it. He'd unpack later.

He could see Emett glaring at him from the corner of his eye.

"I'm sorry." Caden laughed.

"You're reluctantly forgiven." Emett grinned, now back on his bed.

"So, what do you think so far?" Caden sat up.

"I love it here as much as I thought I would!"

"I'm glad we both agree." A smile rested on Caden's face.

Everything had gone really well so far.

Caden just hoped that it would stay like that.
