Chapter 26

I don’t know if it’s me but I feel like something bad is going to happen. Once Amal left, I entered Khalil’s room, and as usual, he was laid on the bed. I walked towards him and sat on the bedside, he adjusted his position once he saw me, he looked at me, head to toe, definitely wondering when and how I look different.

"How do you like my new look?" I asked

Still looking at me, Khalil began to cough, before I could pat his back, he stopped coughing.

"Say something," I said

"Not bad." He proclaimed

"Not bad! Seriously! Come on, look at me."

"I have seen better." He said with a bit of laughter in his voice

"You’ve seen better, seriously, why don’t you tell me where and when you saw that."

"Don’t be serious, Afraah, I was just joking." He coughed out

"Are you okay?" Patting his back, I handed him over a glass of water

He took a sip and gave me back which I kept on the side table "Are you okay?" I asked
