2 - Find my Luna

I stand in my office looking out over my pack, people walking around enjoying the warmth of springtime others busy with chores.  The amount of frustration within me grows daily as my request to see Sadie goes without being honored.  A soft knock hits my door, and I call out, “ENTER.”

I watch as the door slowly opens and she stands there submissively, “Alpha Michael, I’m afraid she will not come today.”

I tilt my head to Sybil, “I’m sorry did you think I was asking for her or demanding to see my future Luna,” my fists are now balled by my side, this girl seems to think that I am playing around with her, she needs to get Sadie here and now.

Sybil smiles weakly, “Alpha Michael, she refuses, and you’ve told me not to use force,” she smiles wickedly at me.

I stand there trying to wrap my mind around what has happened, Sadie knows she’s my mate, I’ve told her I’ve scented her, and we have grown closer these last few months.  Her 18^th birthday is only 8 months away and she was thrilled to know how much I already adore her.  I look at the girl standing in front of me, “where is she, I’ll go myself and find out what is happening.”

I walk towards the door where she is standing and she visibly shakes, my brows crease, “what is it, what haven’t you told me?”

She takes a step back, her head now bowed staring at the floor, “she’s gone Alpha Michael, and I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find her,” she looks up with tears pooling in her eyes.

My heart clenches in my chest, “Gone, when?”

She stutters, “We, well she wasn’t in her bed this morning.”

I mind link my Beta, “get to my office now.”  I narrow my eyes at this girl that I trusted with my most precious possession, “when were you planning on telling me this?”

She gulps, “I have several people looking for her Alpha Michael, it’s not the first time she has gotten up early and decided to take a walk, last time we found her out in the meadow by the stream.”

Beta Justine knocks on the door and Sybil jumps, she opens the door without me saying a word and I just cock a brow to her as her brother walks in, he looks at her and smiles, then at me, “Alpha, you needed me?”

I cross my arms over my chest and lean on my desk, “When’s the last time you seen Sadie?”

He looks at his sister and then to me shaking his head, “not recently why?  What’s happened?”

I cock a brow at Sybil, “you didn’t think it was necessary to tell your brother that your charge was missing?”

She shakes her head as Beta Justin glares at her, “Sybil is Sadie gone, when?”

Sybil covers her face with her hands, “I’m so sorry, I have people looking for her, I will sleep next to her from now on, please I had no idea she would just get up and walk away again.”

My patients are gone, and I roar, “FIND MY MATE.”

Sybil jumps back and slams herself into the wall behind her as Beta Justin, turns and walks out, his open mind link goes through my head, “future Luna Sadie is missing, find her,” he shouts out the order to all pack members.

I hear a scream in my head, one that send shivers down my spine, “Alpha come quick by the stream, it’s, it’s oh dear goddess,” the woman begins sobbing through the link.

I jump up and run out of the pack house, shifting midair as I leap off the steps, my wolf Xaivier growls his claws kick up patches of earth to get to the stream, my heart is thundering in my chest as we near and the metallic scent of blood mixed with her sweet scent of lilac’s hit my nose.  I shift back to my human form and walk over, the scene is horrific, pools of blood, mixed with torn flesh, teeth and shredded clothing.  My knees hit the ground and a howl of anguish leaves my chest.  I look down my sight is blurry and I blink away the tears from my eyes, I see her necklace and it’s saturated in her blood, the one I gave her the last time I saw her, her beautiful violet eyes sparkled as she touched the pendant of amethyst, “it’s the same color as my eyes,” she said in her sweet tiny voice.  I picked it up and held it to my chest, when Xaiver whimpered in my mind, “she’s not dead.”

I mind link my Beta, “bring your sister to the stream and security, whoever did this will pay dearly.”  I look at the woman who holds something to her chest, her hands are bloody as she just stares at the site.  “Why did you come here?”

Her head snaps at me, “Alpha Michael,” she sobs, “Sadie was my grandchild, she always came here when she was upset even as a small child, when I heard the command to find her, it was the first place I looked.”

My eyes went wide, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know Sadie never mentioned you.”

She nods, “she feared how you would react.”

I furrowed my brow at her, “react to what?”

She stood and began to walk away, “I’m part witch so is Sadie.”
