Damon opened his eyes after a very sound sleep. He sat up and stretched out his arms and legs. He looked at the gauze wrapped around his arm, and he began to loosen it. After the gauze came off, he saw that his cut was totally healed. “Took you long enough.” He muttered, and got out of bed. “My Prince, Princess Megan is here to see you.” His guard said from outside his door. Damon heaved a high sigh and shook his head. “What does she want? Let her in.” He answered. The door opened almost immediately and Megan walked in. “What does she want? I’m here to check up on my brother. Is that a crime?” “And how sure am I that you are here to just check up on me?” Damon answered, making Megan roll her eyes. “Good morning, and how are you feeling?” “I’m perfectly fine. My wound is totally healed, you don’t have to worry about me.” He answered. “Hold on, what’s with the cold attitude today? I know you’ve always been cold, but why do you seem different today?” Megan asked and furrowed her
~After a few days~ “Why can’t you just let it go already?! Why are you so bothered about that Slave still being alive?” Maeve muttered to Alpha Cephas who had just finished having a meeting with his Betas on how to track Belinda. “You know I won't give up, Maeve. That girl and that wolf ridiculed me, I will never let that slide.” “Haven’t you done enough? I went with you to that tree stump, I smelled her awful blood because of you. I told you, she is far away from here, and I believe she’ll never return.” “You can’t be so sure, Maeve. You lost track of her in the woods, that doesn’t mean she’s far away.” “So I just lost track of her? You and I know very well that once I can’t get the scent of anything, it means it’s so far away from where we left and where we’re headed.” Alpha Cephas sighed and walked up to her. He lifted her hand and gave it a kiss. “Maeve, don’t worry about it, okay? I promise not to get you involved anymore.” He uttered softly. “That’s not what I want. You
“Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!” On the window next to Belinda, a bird perched and chirped. “Uhmm.” Belinda moaned softly in reaction to the sound that disturbed her sleep. The noise of the bird’s wing flapping as if it flew away finally made her open her eyes. The morning brightness seemed too much for her eyes, so she quickly shut it again. She held onto the chair and sat up properly. She slightly opened her eyes and kept it slightly open until she could adjust to the brightness. She looked around her and remembered that she was guarding the boundaries and that was why she fell asleep in the tower. She looked directly in front of her and she also recalled that Prince Damon was standing on that exact spot the previous night. In a flash, she saw the prince’s face very close to hers. She creased her brows and slowly caressed her lips. ‘Did that truly happen? Did he…’ She sprang to her feet and shook her head. “It was just a stupid dream.” She uttered, and looked down the tower again to b
Maisie’s cheeks began to hurt from how much she blushed. She couldn’t believe she was holding hands and taking a walk with the heir of the Moonlove kingdom. “Thank you for taking this walk with me.” She uttered, and Damon answered with a faint smile. “But you know you don’t have to hold my hand. Did my mom tell you to do that too?” He asked, and Maisie chuckled. “No, she didn’t. But I like it this way. It will help me keep up with your walking pace.” She answered shyly. As they kept walking, Maisie sighted the training field from afar, and her eyes widened. “You have a training field too?” She asked in awe. Damon furrowed his brows and looked at the field too. “Why are you so surprised? Every kingdom has one.” “Not every kingdom, my prince. Though, our kingdom has one, but only the males are trained to fight. The women are trained to be good wives.” She answered. “Oh… well, everyone can train here.” “That is amazing! Can we move closer? I would love to shoot an arrow for the f
Belinda tried to act okay when she headed back to Megan’s chamber for dinner. She didn’t want her asking her questions. Megan told her guards to open up the door for Belinda when she got there. Belinda walked in with a smile on her face. “What took you so long?” Megan asked her. “I’m sorry, I took a long time in the bathroom. I was enjoying the bath too well.” “A bath? You prepared it yourself?” Megan asked, and Belinda nodded proudly. “It wasn’t a milk bath. Just warm water and soap.” Belinda added as she moved closer to where Megan was. The table was set already, and Megan was seated. “Here… there is enough food to eat. Eat until you can’t eat anymore.” Megan told her, and she bobbed. She picked a plate and poured some rice on it. She added some beef sauce to the side and picked up a spoon. “So… I asked my brother about this woman you told me about.” Megan uttered, and Belinda stopped chewing immediately. “Hmm.” She nodded and gulped the rice that was in her mouth. “I know
“I hate Belinda with everything in me!” Isla yelled as soon as she got into Yolanda’s room. Yolanda sat up on her bed and looked at her. “What did the stranger do this time?” “You won’t believe it. I went to Reggie to finally tell him how I feel about him, but he turned me down.” Isla explained. “And what does this have to do with Belinda?” “He turned me down because he likes her, Yolanda! He likes that witch!” “Hold on, Isla. Did he tell you he likes her or you’re just assuming? Remember, he never reciprocated your feelings in any way.” “C’mon, Yolanda, are you trying to mock me too? He was with her throughout the day! He kept touching her all in the name of training, and they both seemed to be enjoying it! It’s so annoying!” She smacked and slammed into the bed. Yolanda scoffed and shook her head. “Well, that’s more of a relief to me. I thought she had some kind of feeling for Princess Megan.” “Princess Megan? Why would you even think that? They are both women. It doesn’t wo
~ After A Month~ ‘It’s over a month since Prince Damon told me to stay away from him. Even though I tried to keep to his words, I find myself drowning even more in his love. I keep wanting to see him everyday, even though we don’t talk anymore. He never tried to talk to me since he saw me with Reggie, he is with Miss Maisie now, but I still can’t forget about him and that dream I had on the tower. What should I do? He’d never love me back.’ “Belinda! Belinda! Are you preparing?” Megan's question was followed by her knock on Belinda’s chamber door. Belinda snapped out of her thought and stared into the mirror that she sat in front of. “I’m also done, Princess Megan.” She answered. She stood up and headed to the door. She opened the door, and Megan rushed in with a bag in her hand. She dropped the bag on the bed and took a close look at Belinda’s outfit. “Don’t tell me you’re going to my father’s birthday feast dressed like that.” Megan muttered, showing disappointment and disgust.
“Prince Damon.” Belinda called as he pulled her with him. Tears rolled down her eyes as she stared at him from behind. ‘I don’t understand what is going on. What does he mean by he needs me?’ She asked herself. Surprisingly, Prince Damon was taking her to her chamber. He grabbed the door knob and opened the door. He walked inside the chamber and pulled her in with him. He locked the door behind them and that was when he finally let go of her hand. “What is going on, Prince Damon? I am so confused.” Belinda mumbled tearily. Damon brushed his hair backward with his hand as he kept panting hard. Belinda could see he was shivering too. It looked like he was having a panic attack. “Prince Damon?” Belinda called, this time, worriedly. He seemed not to be doing okay. “Why do you always let him get so close to you?” Damon mumbled and gazed at her. Belinda creased her brows in confusion as she gazed back at him. “Reggie! I mean, Reggie! Why do you let him touch you like that? Why does h
After 3 months~ Damon kept pacing in front of the room where Belinda was to conceive. His heart was thumping violently against his chest. He prayed silently that Belinda and their baby were going to be okay. King Talos and Queen Marlena also stood not so far from the room, waiting in anticipation. After the wedding ceremony, Prince Damon and Belinda became the talk of the kingdom. Everyone had their own parts to say about what happened, but Damon didn’t care. He wasn’t ready to lose Belinda again. He approached his parents after the wedding ceremony, and he told them that if they wanted their lineage to continue ruling, they had to want what he wanted. He went on to explain all the evil that Maisie had once done and that he was never going to settle down with such a woman. He told them the only way he would forgive them for erasing all memories of his wife was if they accepted her in the palace. After thinking about it, his parents finally decided to accept Belinda as their da
Everyone gathered in the large hall, and in front of them stood the Monk, Damon and Maisie. The Priest read out words from the scroll to repeat. Maisie was the happiest woman on earth, while Damon on the other hand couldn’t stop worrying about why Megan was yet to get to his marriage ceremony. Damon never felt any surge of happiness, but he just had to do it for his parents, the king and queen. “We promise in front of every kind of us present today, to cherish our bond and love each other till eternity.” The monk uttered, waiting for them to repeat these words. Maisie opened her mouth to speak, but realized that Damon was being hesitant again. All the words they were asked to repeat seemed like a burden to him. It was more like he was forced to say these words. She didn’t care, because what she had always wanted was right before her now, and there was no turning back. “Please repeat after me.” Damon heard the voice of the monk from a distance, throwing him back to reality once m
Getting to the palace, Megan led Clara and Belinda in through the back door, sneaking them in. The palace was so busy with the preparations for the Prince’s wedding that they hardly noticed their entry. “Where are we going now?” Clara asked, turning to look at Megan. They hid behind a wall; watching how the people walked to and fro. “We need to get to Mr. Theron, I believe he can help us.” She suggested, causing Belinda’s eyes to widen. “What? You just told us Mr. Theron was the one that placed a spell on Damon and made him reject and forget me. Why would he help me now?” Belinda asked. “I have spoken to him, okay? He has always regretted what he did, and he told me he had to because of my father. But now, he’s ready to do anything because he doesn’t want to be the one to change fate. So he’ll help. I promise.” Megan reassured them. Belinda and Clara exchanged looks and nodded at each other. “So what do we do now?” Clara further asked. “You two need disguises. I have some in m
~Six Months Later~ While Belinda sat in her room, rubbing her big belly bump, Clara rushed into her room. The loud noise caused Belinda to jolt and turn to the door. “Belinda!” Clara called, panting seriously. Belinda hastily stood up in fear and approached her. “What’s wrong, Clara? What’s happening?” She asked fearfully. “I… I have bad news! And there are two of them. But one of them is very urgent! We need to get out of here, right now!” She uttered, causing Belinda to shake her head. “Why? Talk to me? Where is Agatha? And everyone?” “Agatha sent me to you, and told me to take you somewhere sef. Cephas’ pack has found us, and there is going to be a war soon. Though we would defeat them, we need to keep you safe.” She uttered, rushing to Belinda’s closet and picking a big jacket and wrapper. “But I don’t want to leave. Nothing is going to happen to me. What if Cephas dies in the process? I don’t want to leave without watching him get the death he deserves.” Belinda answered.
Agatha and Clara took Belinda to the cage where they had locked Alpha Cephas. He sat on the floor, his hands over his knees and his head bowed. The clothes he had on were stained with his dried blood. He tried putting up a fight with Agatha and one of the men in the pack, and he ended up getting brutally wounded. “There he is.” Agatha uttered, and Cephas raised his head and looked up to see Belinda standing in front of him. He clenched his jaws angrily as he stared at her. He just wanted to get rid of her once and for all but he kept failing and getting himself humiliated. He hated her even more because of this. Belinda stared at him speechlessly with lots of thought going through her head. A part of her wanted to pounce on him and kill him right away, while the other part wanted to make him suffer slowly until he died. “What should we do about him? If you want us to eliminate him right away, we can, Belinda. He hurt one of us and we don’t take that lightly. He should be dead, b
Belinda’s eyes slowly opened as she felt the hot sun rays hit her face. She moaned as her consciousness caused a throbbing pain around her neck. “She’s awake! She’s awake!” The loud voice pierced her ears like they were going to destroy her eardrums. “Argh.” She groaned, covering her ears tightly with her hands. She slowly opened her eyes, and with her blurry vision, she tried to recognize where she laid. The last thing she remembered was somebody trying to strangle her to death on a rock, in the woods. “Where am I?” The question came in her head as she reached for her neck, slowly running her fingers through it. But then she found out that something was tied round her neck too. She creased her eyebrows, touching the bandage around her neck and finally looked up to see two women staring at her. One of them looked very young, while the other woman was pretty old. “How are you, dear?” The elderly woman asked, and Belinda furrowed her brows. They didn’t seem familiar to her. “Wher
Queen Marlena asked the maids to prepare breakfast for her, Miss Maisie and Damon. She could not contain the joy of having gotten rid of Belinda for good. The maids finished setting up breakfast in Queen Marlena’s room, and she invited Damon and Maisie in. “Welcome.” She uttered, with a large grin, sitting behind the table. Maisie looked at Damon and found him grinning too. She couldn’t help but ask herself what had changed. All she knew was that the queen put a call out to her that she should come and claim what was rightfully hers…Damon. At first, she was scared that she'd have to face Belinda again, but she summoned courage since it was the queen that summoned her. “Thank you, Queen Marlena.” Maisie responded, as she sat on the chair. Damon also settled next to her, staring at the meals on the table. “What are we celebrating?” He asked, furrowing his brows. “What is there not to celebrate, hun?” Marlena responded, and he raised his eyebrows. “Please don't tell me this is a
Belinda slowly opened her eyes as the sun's hot rays touched her face. She winced, feeling a throbbing pain at the back of her head as she tried to shield herself from the sun. Using her hand to block the rays, she fully opened her eyes and surveyed her surroundings as she sat up.She found herself in an isolated place, far away from civilization. The events of the previous night rushed back to her instantly—the night she was forcefully expelled from the palace, treated like an unwanted stray. Her eyes welled up with tears, and a surge of emotions overcame her. She held the back of her aching head and struggled to stand up, leaning against the tree beside her for support. As she rose to her feet, she instinctively placed her palm over her belly, feeling through the fabric of her garment. Through tearful eyes, she murmured, "I won't give up on you, my love. No matter what they try, I'll protect you. We'll be reunited with your father, and we'll find happiness once again."Beside her, t
"Arrrghhh!" Belinda clutched her chest, experiencing an intense pain unlike any she had felt before. It felt as though she had become disconnected from something or someone she cherished deeply, causing her heart to fracture within her chest. Her face flushed red, and her eyes rolled back as she collapsed onto the bed, desperately attempting to alleviate the overwhelming pain.Standing by the bed, the maids observed her struggle, hesitant to approach due to the head maid's warning not to intervene. "Leave her be until the arrival of the King and Queen," the head maid instructed, and the others nodded in agreement. As Belinda grappled with the excruciating pain coursing through her body, the chamber door swung open. King Talos and Marlena entered, their attention immediately drawn to the tearful Belinda. "Is everything prepared now?" inquired Marlena, and the maids nodded in response."Yes," replied the head maid, and they all bowed. "Excellent. Now, summon the guards to remove her f
