The car stopped in one of the city's tallest skyscrapers. I just followed Lucius as he walked through the main doors and I noticed the logo in the front desk. Henderson Landscapes... it says.

"Good morning, Alpha Calix," the staffs in corporate attires greeted. Their eyes stopping at me for a moment, obviously wondering who I was to tag along with their boss.

Calix didn't say anything and continued walking to the elevator. We went to a certain floor until we arrived in his office. He went straight to his table while I remained standing, not knowing what to do.

“Why did you take me here, master?” I asked, watching him sit on his swivel chair and check the piled paper works on his table. He lifted his gaze to me, the corner of his lips tugging up. His wicked smirk made my forehead crease. What is he planning again?

“To be my secretary?”

I didn’t get it.

“Wait, I thought I’m playing the role of your fiancée? What happened to that? Besides, don’t you want to make a move with our plan

When I opened my eyes, I realized I fell asleep in the middle of all the work I was doing. I blinked and looked around, stopping at Alpha Calix's empty seat. Where did the devil go? I shifted my gaze to the files in front of me. Then to the wall clock. I groaned, knocking my head with my knuckles. For goodness’ sake, it was almost six in the evening and I only finished two columns of the shelf! What should I do now? For a long minute, I remained sitting on the floor, staring at the mess in front, contemplating what to do. Thinking of a wicked way to escape this hell, I stood and wandered around the room to confirm if Calix wasn’t really around. When I confirmed it, I went to the door to see if it was locked. But before I could touch the doorknob, I stopped when I saw a small note pasted on the door. ‘Don’t you dare try to run. I will find you.’ I immediately knew who wrote it. I twisted the doorknob, finding out it wasn’t locked. My eyes narrowed and stepped back. He left a warni

Wait. Did I hear him right? I leered at Alpha Calix darkly, wondering what he had up to his sleeves to let me join his dinner. He couldn’t be this merciful to someone who disobeyed his word. Walking toward him, I asked, “Are you planning to poison me?” One corner of his lips tugged up. “What made you think that? I already told you, didn’t I? If I’m going to kill someone, using poison is the last thing I would do.” He clicked his tongue and eyed me like a snake. “Accusing your master of such a crime, little wolf, don’t you think that’s absurd?” Right. He wouldn’t kill someone through poison and I also doubt he would kill me this early. After all, I was someone he could use against Benedict. “I’m letting you eat so you will not make a mistake tomorrow.” “Where are we going?” I asked as I took a seat, my gaze fixated on the table. There were two plates of pork steak while others were side dishes. Though I was hungry, the meat was half-cooked and I didn’t eat barely cooked meat even

I slept the rest of the flight and only woke up an hour and half before we landed. Alpha Calix had changed into a black button-down long-sleeved shirt and black tux. His attire was all black only accented by a silver chain on his neck and silver Rolex. Meanwhile, my dress was also dark – a gradient of dark red and black, which gave me an idea how Lucius loved dark colors. He must have picked it himself. The dress was nice though. It was a tube dress with a puffy skirt extending down my knees. The upper part of the tube was black, then going down it turned dark red until it turned to a brighter shade of red at the end. Calix left the cabin while I dressed up. I tied my hair in a classic bun, leaving a few curly strands at the sides. While finishing my makeup, I heard the door click and I saw Calix walking towards me in the mirror. I put the gloss down and stood to face him. “Are we landing now?” Instead of answering, I saw his eyes move around my face before it went down. I cleared

"Nervous?" Alpha Calix asked as we walked to the first deck. People in dashing dresses and suits were everywhere, and it seemed like almost all of them knew Calix."I can hear your heart. Calm down, little wolf. No one will gobble you up. Well, at least when you're with me." "I must say your hearing sense is very sharp, master," I whispered back, smiling at him with a little glare."I'm the greatest alpha, aren't I?"A narcissistic fool.I pulled my hand from his arm and faced the sea. The cruise ship was slowly departing from the port. I've been to a cruise ship before, once, but not this big and grand. The ship didn't fascinate me though. It was the sea."Let's go to the central hall to greet the couple," Calix said."Couple?" I asked as we walked inside."This is an anniversary party of Florence and William Atkinson. Florence is a close friend of my late mother who married William, alpha of one of the biggest packs here in Turkey.""Then why are you so sure that Benedict will be a

Benedict’s eyes turned to slits. I knew he was annoyed so to annoy him more, I smiled at him. Alpha Calix chuckled softly in my ear. Though before Benedict could come up with a retort, a feminine laugh resounded on the entrance of the hall.I turned my head to see who it was and saw Calix’s relatives, his Aunt Roselle and her daughter, Sophie. When they spotted Florence and William, they immediately walked over us.“What a grand celebration this is, Florence,” Roselle said, looking around with her rogue colored lips curving up. When she noticed Calix, she parted her lips, but when she noticed me, she shut it and furrowed her brows. “I thought you won’t attend, Calix.”“I want Loraine to meet Florence,” Calix replied.Giving me a final look, Benedict excused himself before walking out of the group. I kept glaring at his back until I couldn’t see him.“You’re not engaged for long, cousin. You shouldn’t be bringing her over important occasions. Who knows you’d get tired of her tomorrow o

“But you can do nothing now. You can’t put up a fight against me,” Benedict said surely, inching closer to me that I was afraid he’d suddenly push me off the deck. I loved the sea but wasn’t a good swimmer to enjoy a night swimming at this time.“How sure are you that I can’t put up a fight, huh?”“Why, do you think you can win over me now just because you have Calix Henderson beside you?” He shook his head with a playful smile on his lips as if thinking that I had lost my mind. “You are wrong, princess. Calix is not a prince charming who helps a random damsel in distress.”“I beg to differ. I do look like a prince, Benedict. While you look like a villain,” I heard Calix's voice and it wasn’t long when he appeared beside Benedict. “Are you that jealous of me to badmouth me in front of my woman?”Calix took a step closer to me and held my waist. Benedict watched me as if he was trying to decipher whatever puzzle I had on my face. It seems like he was trying to tell if what was going be

We returned to Seattle the next day. It was a long flight and I used the time I had to ponder about some things.I clearly understood now what Calix wanted me to do. For me to be his puppet and obey all his whims in disguise of helping me ruin Benedict. But if I blindly follow his every command, wouldn’t it be not my revenge but his? And at the end of the day, what would I become? A trash at his disposal. Which didn’t sound good to me.He had his plans, but I should have my own too. I couldn’t just rely my goals to someone who wouldn’t think twice of killing me if I made a mistake. I should have my own direction. That was why I came up with a plan myself.I couldn’t just let that Lucius Voss control me. If honey trap was his way of luring Benedict to his web, then I would use that same tactic to him.Seduction. I looked over the window of my room, pacing back and forth, thinking how I could possibly fool two men at the same time. Not just ordinary men but devil alphas. It would surel

It smelled like flowers, honey, vanilla, something with a bit of sandalwood. I could not pinpoint exactly what it smelled like but it smelled so nice. When I regained consciousness, it was the first thing I noticed. Then when I opened my eyes, I noticed the room I was in which wasn’t anything familiar. It was spacious and the bed was nice. The walls were painted beige and it was cozy. Was I somewhere in Alpha Calix's manor? What happened in the garden? How did I get here?I rose from the bed, confused. Calix didn’t allow me to enter just any room. Trying to remember what happened after I went close to the mirror, I went off the bed and walked over the glass window. Tall curtains fell on the sides, letting the light of sunset go through.Wait, it was already sunset? But I went to the garden at eleven and spent a few hours there. Did that mean I slept the rest of the afternoon? My eyes widened in horror. I should be back in my room before Calix arrives!Turning on my heel, I stopped whe

  • Fatal Rules: The Alpha's Game   Chapter 85: I love you, Alpha (Epilogue)

Tears of joy rolled down my cheeks when I read what is written in the invitation delivered to me. Calix, who was carrying our little girl in his arms, went to me with an alarmed face when he saw my expression.“What is wrong?”I shook my head and smiled. “I’m just happy.”“Happy about what?”His eyes drifted to the invitation card I was holding.“Jaxon is getting married to his mate?” His gaze went back to me and I saw his worried face as if something is wrong with me, or that I feel bad about it and he wants to comfort me or something.“Yes.” Whoever this Lea is, I am happy that she filled the hollow part in Jaxon's heart. He is such a good man and I have been waiting for this day to come. For him to be finally happy again. For him to be loved again the way he deserves to be. And I feel so glad that I couldn’t help but burst to tears.“You are upset because he’s getting married,” Calix stated in a calm voice as if he understood clearly that I love another man aside from him.“No! After one month…As soon as I got out of bed I immediately felt nauseous. I quickly run towards the bathroom. I grabbed my hair and vomited on the sink.Early in the morning this is what happened. So I couldn't help but doubt that Lili's suspicion was true. From what I've heard, pregnant women sometimes have morning sickness.I heard the bathroom door open, I no longer bothered to look back because I was busy vomiting. No one enters my room without asking for permission first except Calix."Lory," his voice was soft.I thought he already left last night but here he is, fueling my irritation again."Why are you here? Get out! I don't need you here! You should leave me!"I tried to get out but he just blocked me. With our body's closeness, I can smell his manly perfume. I inhaled his scent. It's so fragrant I feel like I want to smell you all night. But I tried to ignore the feeling of wanting to hug and smell him all day."Don't block my way, Calix!"He sighed. A ghost of smile plaster

  • Fatal Rules: The Alpha's Game   Chapter 83: Rot in hell

Alec couldn’t speak in too much irritation and probably, anger. His eyes were so red, like the color of evil itself. The color of blood and war. The color of death. Yes, red can symbolize love like that of a rose. But it could symbolize many things such as what I have mentioned already.I know what I am doing is a big risk, but I have to try regardless. I need to save the innocent lives of those people who chose to stand by my side. They don’t deserve death like that especially when Alec is the one serving it. He is evil. His soul—if ever he has one which I doubt—deserves to rot in hell all together with his evil subordinates, especially Vienna. If only I am given a chance, I will really kill her. With the anger I am feeling for her, I won’t miss it for sure. She is just lucky that I am not capable enough to do that especially with the given circumstance. Because if only I was capable enough and there is no Alec blocking my way, I would have surely done it, given of course with the he

  • Fatal Rules: The Alpha's Game   Chapter 82: Her game

Back when I was young, my dream was simple. Stay out of troubles, help the pack, earn a degree, make a good career, marry my mate and have kids, maybe two or three. I envy those big families so I wanted to make my own. Maybe because I grew up in a broken family and I felt lonely. When Dad remarried to a woman who has a daughter same age as me, I thought I would finally have someone I can call as sister. I wanted a sibling. I wanted a normal happy family. But turns out that I would be kicked out in my own house because of her. Not that I was literally kicked out though since I left myself. But it is still the same for me because I knew I had no choice but to leave. It was getting worse every day and I don’t want Dad to worry about my issues. I went to Lynnwood, hoping I would calm down there and I also hoped that my stay in a new surrounding would bring good to me.However, looking back now, I can say that it brought me to something both good and bad. Staying in Lynnwood opened me to m

  • Fatal Rules: The Alpha's Game   Chapter 81: Alpha's parents

I looked at myself in the mirror. I just stopped walking back and forth like some psycho who can't behave her ass. I also kept on checking my clothes, my hair, my face, and everything that could be noticed about me. Well, who can blame me? It's weekend today. The day I promised Calix that I would meet his parents in their home. The past few days, I have been really preparing myself for this even Calix told me many times that I have nothing to worry about. But isn't it normal for a wife to be nervous when meeting her husband's family for the first time?I looked at my outfit again. I was really torn earlier if I should wear something so feminine like a dress, skirt or if I should just be casual and have my usual attire when I am walking around Lynnwood – skinny jeans, fitted blouse, cardigan and sneakers. Though at the end, I decided to choose the latter since I am more comfortable with it.My hair was on loose, the mermaid curls naturally curling on the ends of my brown hair. I only p

  • Fatal Rules: The Alpha's Game   Chapter 80: Intimidating alpha

"Hi, Lory! It's good that you have accepted my invitation. Hello, Alpha Calix," Irish said enthusiastically with Peter beside her. We just met outside Lynnwood, in the establishment where we agreed to watch the new movie she was talking about."Hi, Lory and uh... Alpha Calix," Peter greeted me with a smile but when he mentioned Calix's name and his eyes drifted to him, his smile became uneasy. He looked suddenly nervous.I can't blame him. Calix is such effortlessly intimidating. You know, every time you look at him, the first thing you would notice is his intimidating air that is screaming with authority and dominance like no other. I know because I once experience to be initimidated with him so bad.Actually, Calix still do intimidate me sometimes, but I am much more comfortable with him now that we already have a relationship and we have the chance to know each other deep each day. I only feel awkward around him seldomly, when we talk about something or he does something that makes

  • Fatal Rules: The Alpha's Game   Chapter 79: Nothing to fear

The whole time I was aware that I was falling, my eyes were close and there was still that fear that I might hit something down there. Though, the fear slowly faded when I felt how warm and hard the arms wrapped around my body were.Calix's not gonna do something that would hurt me. I hold onto that belief. And when I finally felt the cold water against my skin, I didn't hit onto anything. It was just the cold water, me holding my breath, and the ironclad body against me. I was about to move to swim up, but I froze when in the midst of coldness, I felt warm, soft lips that touched mine, easing the coldness and my fears away.I almost forgot that I couldn't breathe underwater, but with Calix giving me enough air as he kissed me, I had completely forgotten where we are and how cold the water was.I was to carried away that I didn't notice Calix was already swimming our way upward with his ironclad arm around me. The next thing I knew, we were already on the water's surface. He gave me e

“Isn't she the luna of Alpha Calix?"I’m feeling dizzy and my body feels sore everywhere but I still did my best to open my eyes. The first thing that met my gaze was a bright light. It blinded me for a moment.Am I in heaven? That’s possible. I remember falling off the cliff after being chased by my pack. It’s just reasonable that I’m dead by now.I felt a warm thing that touched my face. A finger, perhaps. It pressed on my cheek, which startled me.I moved my eyelids up, this time wider. There’s still that blinding light but as I try to focus my gaze, I realize it’s the sky.“She’s awake.” I dropped my gaze on the little boy on my right. He’s quite young. Around four or five, I guess. He stared at me with curiosity and worry in his bright brown eyes. When the cold wind blew, that was when I knew I’m soaking wet. I looked on my left and saw an older boy. He’s obviously younger than me. He has the same bright brown eyes the small boy has, so I assume they are siblings. Both of them ar

"Did you know what pack they are from, Alpha Calix?" Gideon asked after the invited guests were completely wiped out. "No traces in their swords and daggers, nor in their bodies. And no one dared to speak." "What pack must be behind of this?" it was from Henry. There many assassin guilds but the biggest and most prominent is ours, the reason why we have a lot of enemies. This did not happen only once that was why we were not surprised of the attack. "That is hard to know since we have a lot of enemies," I said before walking out from the group. "Where are you going? We are still in a meeting." Henry is such a nuisance. He really gets into my nerves most of the time. "I need to prepare for my mission tomorrow." Before he could talk more, I was already out of the room. The following night, I left the manor before sunset as what I have planned. It was already dark when I arrived at the Dark Valley where the base of Raven pack was situated. Wolf shifters have very sharp sense of sm
