“What the fuck was that?” Devyn thinks to herself as soon as she leaves The Rabbit Hole. Her future boss was a fucking pervert! She gets a chill down her spine, thinking about the way he looked at her while he had that girl on her knees. As dangerously gorgeous as Kieran Teague was, she would stay out of his way.

She knew she wouldn’t have come here if she wasn’t desperate enough. At least she would just be dancing. Half naked dancing, nonetheless. Men always stared at her as if she was half-naked anyway, so this time she would make them pay for it.

Driving away from the strip club, her mind drifts to Nathan and his behavior a few days ago. He still had not contacted her since their exchange outside the apartment, and she started wondering if it wasn’t for the best.

He would probably not like the fact that she was now working at a BDSM strip club. But with the way he acted, she had already resolved to let him go. She lived for years with her father abusing her mother. Alana Reilly had been as beautiful as her daughter, but she had chosen an abusive man as a life partner. She never escaped, so Devyn did.

As she pulls into her parking garage, she spots a familiar car. “Oh, shit.” She muttered as Nathan stepped out of it. She had nothing to say to him and wished to rather not see him right now.

He strode towards her, “Dev, please,” he starts, “we need to talk.”

Devyn glared up at him and huffed silently, “No, Nathan. I have nothing to say to you.” She said and tried to walk away, but he grabbed her wrists.

“No, I am not leaving until you hear me out.”

She sighed and gently pulled her wrists away from him, “Okay, 5 minutes.” She responded and crossed her arms in front of her. “Can we go inside?” He asked and she shook her head, “Rather not, Nathan.”

He nods and clears his throat, “Dev, my behavior the other night was uncalled for. I wanted to turn around as soon as I walked away, but I knew you wouldn’t want to see me again.” He sighed and took her hands in his again, “I am so sorry for what I’ve said. I have hurt you and I don’t expect forgiveness. But please realize that I am deeply sorry for hurting you. I love you so much and I am so scared of losing you.” He gets down on one knee and Devyn feels her heart sinking. Oh no.

He pulls out a black velvet box, “Dev, this is sudden, but will you make me the happiest man on earth by marrying me?”

“Fuck. Oh fuck, oh no. I cannot marry this man. I will end up like my mother.”

She knew what he expected her to say. He wanted a yes, but she wasn’t sure she wanted him in her life anymore. She could not trust Nathan, he proved that the last time she saw him. He opened the box, and she spied a golden ring with an enormous diamond in the middle. This was definitely not her style, not at all.

Frowning down at him, she starts, “Nathan, please get up,” she saw the anger flashing in his eyes when he got up, but she remained impassive. “I can’t marry you, Nathan. Not after what you said the other evening and how you treated me. I don’t think we can make this work, especially not after I know how you really see me.”

Nathan pocketed the velvet box and took a step towards her, gripping her upper arms. He closed his eyes but when he looked at her again, he was bristling with rage. “You do know you’re making a huge mistake, right?” He spat out, squeezing her arms. She flinched at the pain.

So this was the real Nathan.

She snapped out of her fear and raised her leg, colliding with his crotch. He doubled over with pain, and she took the opportunity to run up the stairs. “Fucking slut!” She heard him behind her but didn’t dare to look back.

When she reached her apartment, she slammed the door behind her and locked it. Then she ran towards the window and watched until she saw Nathan’s car drive away.

“What the fuck, Dev?” She heard Clarissa’s voice behind her and spun around. The fear was evident in her eyes and knew Clarissa spotted it. “Nathan…” Devyn breathed out and walked towards their sofa. She sat down and put her head in her hands. Clarissa took the spot next to her.

“Babe, what happened?” She asked, concern in the tone of her voice.

Devyn looked at her and told her what happened in the parking lot. “Nathan cornered me in the basement parking lot. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most disgusting ring I have ever seen. When I said no, he grabbed my arms and threatened me.” She said, rubbing the part where he grasped her. When she looked down, she knew it would bruise blue by this evening. “I kneed him in the balls and ran up the stairs.”

Clarissa smiled at this but knew Nathan would try something again. “Dev, you might have to get a restraining order against him.” She said, "He won't stop."

Devyn snorted and shook her head, “Nathan has money and would probably pay my people off and make me look like the desperate one.” She said sadly and ran her fingers through her hair.

“I am not ending up like my mother. I refuse to submit to a man just because he has money and status.”

Clarissa nodded at this and smiled at her friend. “I am so proud of you, Dev. You are definitely no pushover. Nathan needs to be put in his place.” She said and Devyn agreed.

Then her head whips up, and she gives Clarissa a smile, “So, colleague. Do you mind going shopping for sexy clothes with me?” She asked with a grin and Clarissa’s eyes widened. “No way!” She cried out and gave a squeal, “You went? How did it go?”

Devyn thought back to her new boss and the look he gave her when he had another girl on his knees and shivered, “First shift is at 8 pm tonight. I had the pleasure of meeting your boss as well.”

Clarissa’s eyebrows shot up at this, “Kieran was there?” She asked with a frown. Devyn nodded, “Yup, interviewed me with a dirty blonde on her knees, giving him the blowjob of a lifetime.” She said, and Clarissa rolled her eyes at this.

“Ugh, that’s Marley. The only person he fucks. She has this idea that she’s royalty because the boss only takes her to the rooms. Do yourself a favor and stay out of her way or she will make your working there a living hell. Especially if she thinks the boss has eyes for you.”

“Well, he was literally eye-fucking me while he had her on her knees, it was unsettling.” Devyn said with a quiver up her spine, “He can fucking pin you with a stare, I couldn’t wait to get out of there.” She concluded.

Clarissa stared at her with an odd expression. “All the more reason to stay out of their way.” She said and Devyn nodded, “Way ahead of you. I decided to stay clear as soon as I left.”

Clarissa smiled, “Good. You said shopping?” she added and shot up from the sofa. Devyn giggled and got up as well.

“Yeah, I own nothing that screams BDSM stripper.” She said, and Clarissa laced her arm with Devyn’s. “Come, I know the perfect store. Let’s go shopping for slutty clothes.” She replied and Devyn felt a bit more relaxed. Only Clarissa could make shopping for revealing clothes seem like it was the most natural thing in the world.

While they were driving, Clarissa gave her the ins and outs of the club. The regulars, the terms, and lingo, who was who and who to stay clear of. “If you have a problem, you need to bring it up with Ross. He usually tries to sort it out, and if not, he brings Kieran in. They take care of us girls. Rabbit Hole really is not a dive, they run it really well and Kieran treats us with respect.” Clarissa was telling her, much to Devyn’s curiosity. She made Kieran seem like a saint.

She brought them to what looked like a goth clothing store and made her try on a few outfits before settling on them. She was now in possession of three latex dresses, 2 latex hot pants, a black corset, and a lace-up latex fishnet halter top. Devyn felt uncomfortable buying these, but as soon as she tried them on at home, she felt surprisingly … good.

Devyn opted for the latex zip-up dress with bondage straps and 7-inch Pleaser heels. She got herself ready at 7 pm and walked into the lounge area.

“Lots of baby powder for chafing, don’t forget!” Clarissa reminds her as she wandered naked through the apartment. Devyn laughed at her boldness, “What? We’re both strippers now, might as well show the goods.” She said with a shake of her hips and Devyn shook her head while laughing.

She looked at herself in the mirror again and could not believe she was going through with this, but reminded herself it would be temporary.

“Okay, ready to go?” Clarissa said after half an hour and Devyn nods. Time to make good on her promise to the Devil.
