Devyn wakes up from yet another fever dream where Kieran took her away from everything, killing all those who disrespected and violated her. Whisking her away to their love nest and vowing never to let harm come to her again.

But reality crashed through and she knew Kieran wasn’t there. Of course, he wasn’t. If he was, she wouldn’t be bent over double from the blows to her back administered earlier. No one told her why she was here or what purpose she served, but every evening someone would come in here to violate her in the worst possible ways.

Devyn rubbed her stomach and wished she was still naïve, wondering where the men were taking her after they ambushed her at the cottage.
