I could see the hurt in her eyes, as she backed away. She averted her gaze.

“But why? Why?” I heard her whisper.

“He hurt you, Mirah. You didn't object when I dealt with his goons sometime ago. Why are you upset about this matter?” That was what I couldn't comprehend.

“Because,” she looked up, and began walking over to me. She halted right at my front, and jabbed a finger at my chest.

“You kept it away from me. You took matters into your own hands. Zeke, I don't want you to fight my battles for me.” She was crying now.

My heart broke, and I tried to hug her. She slipped away, to the side.

“Revert it.” She said.

I blinked. “Pardon?”

“Revert what you've done, Zeke. I don't appreciate it.”

She was being unreasonable. Couldn't she see that she had a selfish inhumane man as a father? I knew she was softhearted, but she needed to be hard hearted at times.

“I'm afraid I can't.” I said softly.

“And why is that?” She retorted.
