I’m sorry I missed publishing Friday. I’ve been crazy busy helping my parents move. I am going to post three chapters today for y’all since I forgot :) Enjoy!
AspenAs soon as I arrive home I rush to my parents chambers. Several elves bow and pay their respects but I don’t pay them any mind. I know my mother is close to giving birth and I fear that whatever Maliyah saw, we could end up losing both my unborn sister and mother. I don’t bother to knock as I push open the door to their room and look out their window to ensure no one is creeping up on the castle.“Aspen, what is wrong,” asks my mother.“How has everything been here? Any threats? Attacks?”“No, everything has been calm son. What is going on,” asks my father.“I reached Maliyah…”“That is wonderful son. Did she wake up,” asks my mother, interrupting me.“No, she shoved me out of her mind.”“That’s odd. Why did she do that?”“She had a vision dad. She saw mom die.”The room goes silent. The look on father’s face is fear. Fear for losing his queen, my mother. Maliyah has never been wrong and we both know it. Those who had visions in the past were always right. This is happening. Eve
AspenIt’s been three months since I left Maliyah. She never did say when the attack would happen and I haven’t been able to bring myself to leave my mother’s side. I feared if I left the attack would happen and I wouldn’t get back in time to save my mother. Davina is four months into her pregnancy with about two months to go. My mother is due any day now, though I am sure she has been in labor for the past six hours.“Mother, are you sure you are alright. You have been having these pains since last night.”“Actually son, I am sure I am in labor.”My mother is concentrating on her breathing as she paces the room while rubbing her hand along her belly. I knew it. Soon I’ll get to meet my little sister, Ada. “I’ll get our healer to prepare for the birth.”Mother nods at me as father rubs her back. She is bending forward with her hands on the bedpost as another contraction hits her. I rush to the healers room and have them return with me. They are running around prepping the room with h
AspenI awake and try to focus my vision so I can identify where I am at. I relax once I realize I am in our infirmary. I sit up too fast as I recall the invasion of rogues. I had ran to protect some children that did not get to a bunk room on time. That damn lion got me good. Anything that happened afterwards is a blur. The room is spinning and I realize my arm is in a sling when I try to move it. I have several stitches on my thigh and there are bandages wrapped around my head. I hope I look better than the lion.“Thank the spirits you’re alive.”I look over and find my father staring at me. He looks as though he hasn’t slept in days and his eye appear broken. I look around the room for my mother and don’t see her anywhere in sight. I look back at my father and he has tears in his eyes. He knows who I am looking for. A tear falls as I try to remain in control of my emotions. We knew
Maliyah“We don’t have much time Maliyah, time differs here than the real world, but Ryuu gave me this opportunity to say goodbye to you.”“Goodbye? I am right here with you. We both died. Didn’t we?”I watch her shake her head at me as tears fall from her cheeks.“Malayah?”“I’m so sorry Maliyah. I chose my path and this was the result. I have accepted that. There was no saving me, but Ryuu said I could save someone else. I chose you. I couldn’t let you die for my mistake, my choices.”“But I am here now. I can stay. I promised to not abandon you, I can’t turn back on that promise now.”“Make me a new promise. Live. Be happy, find love, have children. Live for both of us.”I pull her into a hug as tears fall, staining my cheeks. My heart feels like it’s been ripped from my chest at the thought of having to leave my siste
MaliyahIt’s dark as far as my eyes can see. There is nothing here. I thought we would wake up as soon as we left Malayah and now I want nothing more than to go back to her.“Terra?”“I don’t know Maliyah. I am just as confused as you are. I thought we would wake up.”“Look there is a light. Should we follow it?”“We’ve got no where else to,” says Terra. We slowly walk towards the light. As we let it swallow us whole we find ourselves at the high school. There are kids everywhere running around and goofing off. Some are grabbing books for their next class while others are making out with their boyfriends.“Terra? Is this another vision? I definitely don’t feel like we are awake.”“I believe it is Maliyah.”“Is that us?”It obviously is me, but older. My hair i
MaliyahWell so much for wishes coming true. This can’t be happening. I find myself again at the high school. Same kids are running around and goofing off. Same students are grabbing books and same students are making out. I really don’t want to have to watch this over and over again. It would be like in my own personal hell.I see myself again, where the same outfit, I have my hair in a braid and my make up is perfect. Those same boys are messing around and throwing food. A force field goes up like last time but I notice it’s not me doing it.“Get lost.”I smile as I see Aspen walking towards me and pulls me into an embrace. He snakes his hand into my hair before kissing me. It’s not a short kiss either, it’s passionate and hot. I wish I could describe it better, but I’ve never been kissed. I have no idea what that would feel like.
Aspen“Who is here,” asks Davina.“Alastor.”Davina has such worry in her eyes. He has sent his little minions over several times but has never came himself. Something feels wrong about this situation.“Mother already has the children locked down with Daniela. Katerina and Kale are outside with the warriors. Gabriel and Dimitri are putting up a protection shield as we speak.”“Mark time to let the Lycan’s out,” says Derek.“Go Derek, I’ll be fine.”“I’ll stay with them Derek.”We nod at each other as he leaves. I can tell Davina is worried that she is in no condition to fight, leaving her sister to fight their brother alone. I find this attack odd. It’s just him. No rogues, no witches, just him.“What is on your mind,” asks Davina through a contraction pain.I
AspenThe minute I dive into Maliyah’s mind I am surrounded by darkness. Normally I have entered a memory but not this time. I can feel she is close I just don’t know exactly where. I close my eyes and let my sense take over, trying to feel her presence. I hear her let out a cry and start running in what I am sure is her direction. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to see her as she comes into view.“Maliyah!”As I get closer I see her dragon, Terra, is in chains and she is struggling to break free. There are two warlocks fighting against Maliyah and she is holding her own well. I push myself harder and tackle a warlock, immediately snapping his neck. His body disappears, leaving only one left.I turn with my bow in hand, pointing at the other warlock, to find the other warlock has Maliyah in his grasp. He has an arm around her neck and is preparing a spell with his o
