Chp 4 Pt. 5 Winter Solstice

I can tell someone is here. I can hear pages of a book turning. My eyes flutter open and I raise my hand to the blinding light. I feel like I am going to be sick. I groan and lean over the side of the bed and vomit all over the floor.

“Maliyah, it’s okay. You’re okay. You have a concussion and some broken ribs.”

I look over and it’s Aspen. Great and I just vomited in front of him. I groan again holding my head. It’s killing me.

“How long have I been out?”

“Here drink this tea, it’ll help with your head pain. It’s been two days since the ball.”

I look at him shocked. I can’t believe two days have gone by. I panic suddenly.

“The twins?!”

“They’re fine. They were not attacked. You were the objective. You fought well though. Had you not, you wouldn’t be with us right now.”

“I lost though. Last thing I saw was you throwing some knives.”

“One got away, the rest will never harm you again.”
