Davina’s strength never ceases to amaze me. I mind link everyone to stand back and do not come near the forest as a tornado begins to form with fire swirling in it. She quickly wipes out the creatures, setting the forest on fire. The fire spreads quickly but I realize it’s not heading towards the battlefield, putting everyone in danger.
I notice the wind is being controlled to keep the embers heading the opposite direction. I hear a cry out in the sky and panic as I see Davina falling towards the ground. As she gets closer to the ground, Davina shifts and I rush to her to catch her.
Alastor is charging at Davina as she falls and there is nothing I can do but catch her.
“Kat!”
Out of the corner of my eye I see Kat and Maliyah rushing towards Alastor, hitting him
DerekTears are streaming down Maliyah’s face as she stares at me and Mark.“What’s wrong Maliyah,” Davina asks. “What did you see?”“It’s not supposed to be real. It’s not suppose to come true,” Maliyah cries.“What Maliyah,” I ask.“You and uncle Mark die.”“Do you mind telling us what you are,” says the Alpha mare.“Who are you,” ask Maliyah.“Let’s head to our tent to finish this discussion. Everyone rest and prepare for another wave. They will be back,” I tell the warriors as I and the rest of the shifter counsel members head to the war tent.“Dad you don’t understand, I saw it again. You and uncle Mark are going to die at the hands of those enhanced zombies. There will be too many of them and they will over power you!
Dimitri“You know what going up this mountain means don’t you?”“Yes, I know Dimitri, but she made her choice.”“You should’ve at least told them.”“I don’t want to burden Davina. She never knew of Alexis. I’m sorry it has come to this.”Gabriel and I have several coven warriors with us as we head up the mountain in search of Alexis. The forest is thick with foliage and I cannot sense any wild creatures nearby. We must track her quickly before she realizes Gabriel is here. I fear Gabriel will not be able to do what we know needs to be done when they come face to face.We stay hidden as we watch Alastor lead his forces back down the mountain, letting out a roar that rumbles through the sky like thunder. I know Davina will be ready and waiting for him. We continu
DerekAs soon as s Gabriel and Dimitri leave, all the shifters regroup and head for the battlefield. We can hear the creatures and Alastor getting closer. This time it’s no surprise, he wants us to know he’s coming; he wants us rattled, however, we are stronger than he thinks.“This ends today! We will protect the silver dragons with all our strength, just as Ryuu intended when he gifted us our animal counterparts. We will end the evil and corruption and bring peace to our kind once again!”I didn’t plan on making a speech, but it seems to have some meaning to everyone as they shout and cheer and prepare for what is heading our way. I hope Dimitri and Gabriel are successful in killing the witch and she hasn’t tethered the creatures to someone else. If they don’t immediately die then we have a new problem on our hands. The enhanced zombie creatures make
DerekI can feel the wind begin to pick up and see Davina’s eyes are glowing sliver and she is surrounded by a sphere of wind that is impenetrable. None of the zombie creatures can get to her. Whatever is happening right now at least she is safe. Mark and I stay close in case we are needed.Alastor emerges from the forest and is coming right for Davina. Mark and I prepare ourselves, but notice Aspen attack from Alastor’s left side.“Protect her, I’ll take care of him,” says Aspen through the link.I nod my head and refocus keeping the zombie creatures away from my mate.Davina“I need to get back Ryuu.”“Do not fret my dear, you are well protected.&rdquo
MaliyahI feel as if I have been stabbed in the heart. I clutch my chest and tears roll down my cheeks. I know in that moment, uncle Gabriel has died. Anger surges through me as I call upon my powers. I may not be able to cause pain to the zombie creatures by boiling their blood but that doesn’t mean I can’t kill the traitors.Screams echo across the field as traitors drop to their knees in pain. This brings the attention of the zombie creatures who are now killing everything in their path.“Maliyah no,” says Aspen as he places a hand on my shoulder. My anger calms, but I already succeeded at I what I wanted. Most of the traitors are dead while others are retreating.&ld
Kale I see a shadow above me and when I look up I see Aspen flying and hit a tree. He struggles to get up and I look in the direction he came from. I don’t think Maliyah realized she mind linked everyone as I hear her cries for help the moment I catch sight of her. I am closer than her parents and immediately rush to her aid. A few shifters flank my left and right and we all attack Alastor together. Maliyah appears to be unconscious now but I can hear her steady breathing. Alastor shifts into his human form and just smirks at us. “You think you puny shifters can defeat me?” We stay in our animal forms, refusing to let him goat us into attacking one by one. He stands still as we all circle him, waiting for one us to make a move first. “I highly enjoyed tricking your pack members into h
Davina I hear Maliyah through the mind link, but it’s faint as if she is severely weakened. I scan the field in the direction I saw her last and see Alastor throw Maliyah over her shoulder without her fighting back. I shift and give Akira full control to sprint towards her, shifting back into my human form just as I approach Alastor. “I had Dimitri spell this field so no one can teleport in or out. Put my daughter down,” I growl out. Kat arrives at my side and shifts into her human form. “You will pay for taking my mate from me,” Kat growls. I thought the loss of her mate would severely weaken her but she seems stronger and determined than ever before. I truly would not want to be the one to cause her wrath. I can see Maliyah tw
Davina “Maliyah we need you,” I yell through the mind link. Kat and I are trying to finish this once and for all but we both know we won’t win without Maliyah. Alastor creates a sphere of wind around him, pushing Kat and I off of him. I quickly search the field for Maliyah and instantly see what she is doing. Her vision of Derek and Mark dying, it’s happening. “We need Maliyah,” says Kat through the link. “She is needed else where right now. We need to keep him distracted long enough for her to accomplish what is needed and return to us,” I reply. Kat doesn’t question what I mean. We trust each other completely and I know we can hold him off until Maliyah comes back. “You two are a thorn in my side. It’s time for me to be an only child,” growls out Alastor. I know we a
